The team at Island Animal Hospital actually cares about you and your family. I cannot overstate how significant it is for me personally to feel like that staff and the Vets there always have our best interest in mind, and have created programs like their Pet Wellness program which is like Preventive Health for your animals. It doesn't matter which location you happen to visit, you can expect respect, compassion, and professionalism. Truly appreciate having them as part of our community!

We have been looking for a good vet in the area for YEARS. We have tried at least 4 different vets and each time left feeling like we didn't get things resolved and we paid a ton of money for things to not get resolved. We didn't feel heard and we didn't feel like our dog's best interest was first and foremost. After being recommend Island Animal Hospital we decided to make an appointment for our dog to have a physical exam as well as a yearly test done just to make sure he was in good health. They got us on the schedule promptly. When we went into the office, we immediately went back into one of the rooms (very clean, nice, and big!). The vet tech came in within minutes to go over things and then the vet was next. We discussed our concerns and felt like they were really heard. They handled our dog well and didn't get him all amped up like most vets do. They took him back to take his blood and check his bladder and soon returned. Our dog had a great experience and so did we. The bill was very affordable. We got the phone call a day later going over the test results. All in all, it was a GREAT experience and I think we finally found our vet!

The hardest thing you have to do owning a pet is saying goodbye. Dr. Ballard and His Amazing Staff made this whole process so much nicer than it could have ever been. Thank you so much to Island Animal Hospital and staff for all the kind words and everything over the last 10 years with my adopted boy Toby. We’ve been through a lot together. I wanted Toby’s goodbye to be as kind, loving and sweet as he was and they did not disappoint. My Heart Is Heavy but you have made things much better for our family. Everyone at this office is so kind, and even my very nervous chihuahua loves the techs and vets. She needed her teeth cleaned desperately, and I'd put it off because I was nervous, but they took care of her so well and I am so glad I got it done. We take all our dogs there and I wouldn't take them anywhere else. (PS - The vet who cleaned her teeth - Dr. Ballard - not only called me after the surgery to let me know how it went, which was very well, but called me the next Monday - it was on a Friday - to see how she was doing. Wow!)

The staff at Island Animal Hospital has always been very warm and welcoming. I have three dogs, three cats and one bird, and the veterinarians and techs all have done a wonderful job taking care of them. From regular check ups to illnesses, the staff does a great job of listening to my concerns and providing me with detailed and easy to understand explanations.

Exceptional care exhibited and services provided by the Veterinarian, Dr Ballard, and technicians and receptionists on site at the Cocoa Beach facility. Always scheduled appointments within a very reasonable time and wait period is less than 10 minutes. Genuine interest about concerns and answer all questions. Highly recommend.

I can't say enough about how fantastic this clinic is. Dr. Dexter is awesome and compassionate. I was on vacation and had a minor emergency with my pup. I called, they got me a same day appt and took care of my Lolo. Then had a follow up later before our trip home. Thank you Dr. D. !!!!

THE best vet experience we’ve ever had. The team at Island Animal Hospital—Merritt Island and Cocoa Beach locations—are absolutely wonderful. Every team member was compassionate and communicative. Our pup is a rescue who struggles with severe anxiety making visits to the vet much more of an ordeal, as I am sure many of you can relate. They quickly diagnosed a tumor on her chest, scheduling an eco and procedure for the following week. Valerie was extremely pleasant and helpful in answering all of our questions and getting us scheduled. Throughout our girl’s stay at the Hospital, she was showered in positive affirmations. Dr. Dexter and Jessica made sure to keep us in loop with all/any updates and were proactive with planning for future care. All around, marvelous experience. We are happy to have found our new vet!

This vet = ⭐️⭐️🌟🌟🌟🤩🤩 The entire group of people is incredible. They love animals! We are traveling-they fit my elderly dog in quickly for an emergency. Then-we all sat on the ground together with my dog to make him feel comfortable. So heart warming ❤️

Took my boys in. MD knew right away what was going on. Staff was super friendly. Very patient with my young one because he is hyper. Most definitely feel comfortable bringing them back here. 10/10 would recommend.

I was very happy with our visit to Island Animal Hospital. The staff was very welcoming and were concerned about our Taco symptoms. The Vet Dr. Ballard was so nice and gentle with our little dog and he knew what the problem was before he entered the room just by listening to the cough that Taco has. I highly recommend this clinic for your pet.

The staff there are great, and especially Dr Ballard! He and the staff are very caring and thorough when I take my Cocker Spaniel, Sami, to see them. Honestly, the BEST veterinary service I've ever known!

We are just visiting Cocoa Beach. My dog started limping. Found a small growth in his paw. Island Animal Hospital squeezed us in quickly. They froze off a wart. They were professional, caring and successful. Enzo (the dog) is happy and so are we. It was a wonderful experience being able to find this great place while we were on vacation.

We have had our dog to see Dr. Sobrino a lot lately. Each and every time he has taken the time to answer each one of our questions and ensures our options are discussed. He and his techs are so good with our old girl and the front desk is equally as kind and helpful. We have a senior rescue dog that’s a “frequent flyer” at the vet and we travel between New England and Florida every 6 months for work. I’ve been to a lot of vets as a result of us moving around so much, so I think my opinion on what makes a good vet office is very valid. I never needed a vet in Florida before, but after a weird growth appeared on our dog right we got to Florida, we decided to get it checked out. I made an appointment at different vet in Satellite Beach and literally ran out of there with my dog and called Island Animal where they got us an appointment two days later. As soon as we walked in, I knew this place was awesome. It was clean, the staff was friendly, a very personal experience, Mouse wasn’t just another number. Dr Dexter saw us and had thoroughly studied Mouse’s records before seeing her. Dina was our vet tech, and both Dina and Dr Dexter were on the floor with mouse, taking great care to show her love while they examined her. I knew she was in good hands. I can’t explain how at peace I felt knowing I had found a truly great vet office. Mouse was scheduled for her surgery to remove the growth, the price- I kid you not, was 20% (not 20% less, literally, it was 1/5)of what I was quoted at the other vet, and more importantly, I knew my Mousey would be safe and well cared for. Also, they didn’t have to put her under total anesthesia- which for a 13 year old dog was great news. They were amazing, Mouse had her surgery this week and was so loved and cared for, and I could not be more grateful for the staff and doctors at Island Animal. They treated her like the queen she is, and I really want to thank you guys so much for your care and service! Adopting a senior rescue who has ten years of neglect and mistreatment under her belt has not been an easy road, navigating her health journey. I really from the depths of my heart cannot thank you enough for being part of the journey, it really takes a village and we are happy to be a part of the Island Animal Hospital family.

Have had dogs my whole life 73 years. Just recently had to put my sixteen year old service dog TOBI down. A horrible situation as anyone that has to go thru it. The Island Animal Hospital proved to me that they were the “best pet clinic I have ever delt with”. From the receptionist to the care staff, all went above and beyond and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND them.

My dog suffered severely for weeks after 2 visits to our vet and 1 to the ER locally. None were successful at treating her. This place was recommended by a client. They gave us a same day appt. Our dog's face was swelling and she was licking, scratching all over. My husband thought the vet was great. He sat on the floor with our dog and did a good exam. Came back with a diagnosis ,yeast and bacterial infection, gave her a treatment. Within 24 hrs marked improvement. We will follow up in a few weeks. Thankful for her relief and for the caring side of this vet/office. Thank you!

I took my two cats to Island Animal Hospital for their annual checkups. I was a little nervous because their website really only featured dogs, but the staff there was wonderful with my kitties. So gentle and kind but also incredibly knowledgeable. I'm happy to say that we have found a new veterinarian home at Island Animal Hospital!

Dr. Sobrino is amazing. We landed in his care from a alternate vet. My newest addition was having issues with his prostate. My other vet told me the only alternative was castration. But they could only schedule him three months away. I called IAH, they scheduled him within the same week. The dr. took the time to give me options and took his time to give me his opinions and guidance. Dr. Sobrino has given me more time with my axle bear!

I'm a fairly new visitor (my cat is 1.5 years old), but every time I've gone, it's obvious they KNOW CATS. For example, just 2 days ago I brought my cat for her 6-month checkup. The waiting room was pristine, and smelled fine. When we were brought back, the vet tech immediately cleared off an upper shelf for my cat to have a "safe space", which my cat used! After taking the cat's vitals, she patiently answered ALL my questions, or if she didnt know an answer, saying she would mention it to the vet. Well the vet came in, knowing all my concerns. It was obvious by the way he treated my cat that he is good, caring, and loves animals. He even taught me a trick to easily get my cat back in the carrier. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this practice

We have a 15 year old Lab-Mix who can be.. let’s say a bit picky when it comes to who she lets near her. Needless to say, Vet Technician Tiffany and Dr. Ballard were ready to get right down on her level.. LITERALLY and help out our girl. They listened, didn’t jump into worst case scenarios and really gave us a solution that makes the most sense for our pup. Put it this way, this was our very first visit with them and we will be continuing to bring our dog here for the rest of her life. Not only was their expertise right on point, but the entire office is beautiful, has nice large spaces to examine the animals and really relaxes you with the “island vibes” when you enter the door. The reception team was more than welcoming and very quick to get us in. Thank you to the entire team for being so kind. If you’re looking for a new Vet team to care for your furry companion, your search is over! You will not find another team who you’ll feel more comfortable with.

New to the area and all the neighbors recommend this place. I had one really sick dog, Hunter and Dr. Ballard was so amazing. He told us of an app to use on our phone to monitor his heart rate. Susie and Bobbie and all of the Techs loved my little guy. When we had to put him to sleep the amount of support we received was wonderful. Compassionate and very caring team.

So grateful for Dr. Sobrino and staff, they were more than compassionate and understanding while we suffered through a mysterious paralysis of our fur baby. They worked us in every morning for treatments to try and give him every chance for recovery and reduction of pain, but eventually we had to let him go. We really appreciated the help making that decision, as it was too difficult to make on our own…thank you all again for all your efforts 😪

I am so happy and pleased with this Vet office. Not only did they take a same day appointment, but the customer service from the front desk, nurse to Doctor was beyond my satisfaction. I am a resident to cape Canaveral less than 2 years - and I made the switch immediately when I realized the 1st vet office was so sub standard I knew there had to be an office better. Sure enough Island Animal Hospital to the rescue and now will be a loyal client.
