This was my second visit here and was just as good the second time. There is a large carpark at the back of the pub as well as a big beer garden with amazing views out too sea. There was a wide variety of choice on the menu including a good choice veggie and vegan options. There was also a nice choice of drinks including some local options. The food was very tasty with great portion sizes. The staff were really friendly and service was quick especially as it was busy.

This is a nice pub with a small garden area. The pub is divided into a lot of sections so be careful not to get lost in the maze! They are dog friendly and you can bring your dog inside the pub. The food was tasty but the vegetables were a little undercooked. The portions were quite large. This offered good value but I prefer smaller portions to prevent wastage.

A lovely time had by the entire family (9 of us, ages 13-71) on holiday. Staff were polite, promptly served food and the overall cost wasn't heart attack-inducing. The servings were incredibly generous, meaning some of the party couldn't finish their meals...not a criticism at all, just a surprise in an age where portions tend to be minimalist! Wide range of meals on offer, along with plenty of options for those with dietary needs, meant we had a great time together in the middle of a super holiday. The option of being able to pre-book was worthwhile and definitely recommended if visiting at peak times. Can't comment on much else, but the staff, decor, cleanliness (including loos) and ease of parking were all perfect for us. Thank you, White Mouse Inn...we'll be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wight Mouse Inn. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was very spacious, clean, with a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom and very nice shower. The breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious. We ate in the pub on 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it also. We appreciated the dog friendliness, and the outdoor seating areas. There are lots of areas for walking, hiking and enjoying the incredible views. Parking was available and free. It was just a short drive to many of the tourist attractions. One item that could be improved is the lock/security of the door to the room (we felt very safe, and only noted it as a potential issue). We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this Inn for a relaxing, comfortable location.

Came to the Wight Mouse twice during our five day stay on the Isle of Wight. The food was exceptional and the customer service impeccable especially from the young girl who was working the outside bar on Saturday evening 6.8.22, she was so cheerful and friendly to every single customer despite being super busy. Our favourite Island pub by far. Totally recommend with outstanding ocean views to top it off.

It's a great spot. The food offered is good ie not trying to be fancy but a great selection (Inc gluten free), good sized portions, well presented, delicious with good service and sensible prices. This might explain why it was fairly busy on a Wednesday evening in May during a cost of living crisis. They've got a lot of things right!

Haven't been here for a while. Took the whole family for a Sunday Lunch as it was mine and missus wedding anniversary. Can't fault the food, didn't have to wait long and it was very tasty. Steak n Ale pie was packed with tender beef. Kids loved their meals too. Only issue is the cost of eating out is more expensive. Cost over £65 for 3 adult meals and 2 kids meals. Apart from that it's a lovely pub with great views across the channel on a clear day you can see the Needles. Only grip was the constant issue with wasps.

A charming rural historical hotel/pub/restaurant offering a good menu of well cooked and well presented food. A large carpark and plenty of opportunities for open air dining or drinking with play equipment for children close at hand. Average but value for money pricing of food and a good range of wines, spirits and beers. We will be back!

Visited with a group of 8 last night and all had a fantastic meal and experience! The staff were so friendly and even helped us find an earring one of the ladies had left. The team are a fantastic asset to a great pub!

We booked here for the views, access to walks and for it being very dog friendly. A great place, with friendly staff and nice menu, including specials each day. The weather regrettably was poor on the Saturday so we didn’t get to do the walks we wanted to, but there are plenty nearby including the coast path. However we had a great lunch with family and this led into later in the afternoon with a few more drinks and great atmosphere. The room we had was very spacious, clean and tidy. The bathroom was to a good standard also. Whilst comfortable, the mattress was a little too soft for my liking, but this is obviously individual preference. Breakfast was included in the price and there is a good range of choice and very flavoursome. We will certainly look to stay again in the future when doing a weekend stay as it was overall well priced and good value for money.

We have been visiting the Wight Mouse for years. The food and drink are delicious with lots of choice. It is also very reasonable. The staff are very friendly and are always happy to help. This is a great place for families and also dog friendly. There is a massive beer garden and play equipment for smaller children. You get a great view from there as well.

Just spent a lovely week at the white mouse inn. Superb location with friendly and welcoming staff, the rooms are clean modern and spacious, breakfast was freshly cooked and the pub meals in general were very good value for money with a great choice. We will definitely be returning.

Went on a Sunday with my family and dog - absolutely brilliant service, the atmosphere was lovely and dog friendly (water bowls everywhere!), staff were polite and checked in on our meal, and the food itself was incredible! Between us four we had a steak, a veggie lasagna, a mix grill and a venison and mushroom pie - all four of us said it was the best we’d ever had! 10/10 will be returning!

As annual visitors to Chale, we regularly count our blessings at having the Wight Mouse Inn on our doorstep. The pub is lovely, the staff friendly and the food excellent and all the better for being walking distance from our accommodation. A must visit for anyone in the area!

Fantastic pub with beautiful views ! Best to book a table in advance as they fill up fast. Large portions, reasonably priced and a well varied menu. Extensive selection of drinks to choose from at the bar with friendly staff. If you're visiting the Isle of Wight then make sure to drop in.

The meal and experience went from ten to zero very quickly. The bar was short of glasses and substituted with smaller glasses, this would be fine if they didn't try to charge us full price. The kitchen and bar stuff obviously can't or don't communicate with one another. I understand the order was rather big, but 10 minute gaps between orders that we were told they would send together (informed them by their request once last of us had ordered) isn't acceptable. The waiters need more training, very aloof.

Popped in with friends for a meal at short notice - popular and buzzing on arrival, the large car park was pretty full, but we were able to find a table. Friendly reception and bar staff working hard. Good selection of mainstream plus local real ales. Food prices reasonable, menu includes daily specials - Moroccan lamb tagine and steak and kidney suet pudding featured on our visit. Overall, very good at this price point and will definitely visit again when next in the area

Lovely food and staff are friendly. Went for a last minute lunch with 10 people, food came quickly and were good sized portions. Children's menu is great as it does 2 sizes for different aged children (more pubs should do this). Outside play area is great and they have an indoor amusement area too. Definitely recommend and will come again!

We arrived at the White Mouse and was greeted by Katie. She greeted us with a lovely smile and showed us to our table. We were near to the speakers and she checked to see if we were happy with the table. Very well looked after and all the staff seemed to be very happy and the food was delicious. Katie was outstanding.

Had a lovely late afternoon meal. We had venison and bacon cottage pie along with a hunters chicken. Fresh and very tasty. To top it all off its in a picturesque location and the staff + manager were very friendly. Recommended.

A lovely pub on the way to freshwater bay. Stopped for lunch and the food was amazing. The family enjoyed toasted sandwiches and I had a burger. All we fresh and very tasty. Lovely grounds and a play area for kids

Went for Sunday lunch, it was our daughters 40 so rather a lot of us and as always we couldn't fault it. Beautiful meal. It was a lovely ending to a very busy birthday weekend.

The Wight Mouse is back. Used to be a must visit location, then changed hands and lost its soul, turned into a sterile, lifeless place. But, we decided to give it a go, for old times sake. Glad we did, it's back on our must visit list. Great isolated location, great service, great food. Great atmosphere again. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed

Had tried several places to get a Sunday Roast as hadn't planned or prebooked anywhere. Tried here on the off-chance and even though it was busy were told "of course just find a table that doesn't have reserved on" Good value for money, friendly welcoming staff, lovely dining area and great portions. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

This place is lovely with large accommodations beautiful but windy cliffs. I have been here twice on holiday on the ferry over from england and it was smooth as soon as we got in it felt like home. staff here ready for action. also dog friendly which was great for me as i had my dog with the rest of my family. Breakfast was lovely as always hoped so. Dinner and lunch were awesome as well, such large portions we all had kid sizes! But overall a great place to visit

Had a great meal here in the huge garden overlooking the coastline in the distance. The pretzel bun was different for the burger but it was all delicious! There was a play area for kids. Staff were very friendly.

Lovey place Staff friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent and cooked to order. Location is a bit difficult to say yes it's a bit of a drive but we'll worth the effort to find it. That is the only reason for the 4 stars for Location because it is a busy road and you could miss the turning if coming from Freshwater.

Stopped for a quick lunch, just because it's such an easy place to park if passing by this part of the island. (Wouldn't actually make the effort to come for food otherwise.) Just your regular, normal pub stuff, fish pie pretty tasteless (kitchen, as usual in the UK, never cooks things long enough and works without onions and garlic), pies out a packet, regular tasteless boiled veg, but apparently the sausages were good. Such a lovely location, and such a shame the chef doesn't make a effort to do things better

We went for lunch (not guests at the hotel). It was great. Really good choice, including gluten free - all four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Good service even though it was a very busy day. The location is fantastic - really lovely views over the bay.

Stopped for lunch after a walk with our dog. Lovely day so we sat outside and admired the view of the coast along to the needles. We had a prawn sandwich with a salad garnish and they did a sausage for Houston and even had a button on their till for doggy extras. Excellent service, food, helpful and friendly staff. As we used to say Service, standards and value they ticked the lot!

Went there for an evening meal with a baby. Great selection of food and very tasty. Beautiful outdoor setting with lots of tables on the lawn, and equally nice is the pub inside. The food came very quick despite it being quite busy that evening. They have high chairs and even a little playground for toddlers with swings and a slide. Plus it comes with a sea view!
