Me and my lady came across this heavenly place as we was walking. We both ordered the cheeseburger but I ordered the corn chowder as it was recommend by the server. The burgers was so fresh, delicious and filling. The corn chowder had a perfect blend of seasons. I recommend all of you to come have some freshly, home-cooked food with a friendly smile. The scenery at this establishment is wonderful to look at and very relaxing.

Delightful cafe reminiscent of grandma's house - yummy homemade food and friendly ladies. My mom and I tried out this little cafe for the first time and absolutely loved our lunch. The quant atmosphere and quick service was much appreciated. I ordered the Ruben on rye with a cup of homemade asparagus soup. My mom ordered the chicken Philly with the soup. First, we were impressed with the speed of service. Second, everything came out hot - this is such a noticeably different experience from most restaurants. Third, everything was delicious and obviously fresh & homemade. The asparagus soup was the star of lunch - creamy, hearty, smooth and tasting just like asparagus. I'd go back for the soup alone! My Reuben was delicious, salty and mustardy! We will definitely be back.

Cute, quiet cafe located in downtown Mesa. No frills but we had a hardy breakfast. Very reasonably priced and we were happy with what we got.

Cindy runs a great café. The salad was delicious and the portions were generous. Friendly service.

This is a super cute locally owned diner. We came for the first time this morning and we loved it. Very relaxed vibe, it’s like going to your grandmas for breakfast. The owner is very nice and personable. Great place for families or meeting a friend for breakfast or lunch. It is kind of hard to find, just go around to the back of the building and you will find it. Super cute patio area!

I love this place in Downtown Mesa. Great sandwiches, burgers, daily specials! Just had a turkey Ruben. Man, was that good. Cindy and her staff give the cafe a down home feeling. I love it when I come and they ask, "what can I get ya darlin'?" You feel like part of the family. I love it when Cindy shouts from the cook top, "hey Kim, how 'bout I put such and such on that burger for ya. I bet you'll like it." I always do.

Walking from the library and stumbled onto this place. Regulars who know each other and greet you with a warm smile. Getting the Meatloaf Sandwich and enjoying the company while I charge my car.

Unbelievable and unexpected! Stopped in with my grandson before the museum and picked the Rendezvous because it looked unassuming and appropriate for a 4 yr old. I didn't expect the quality and innovation of the food. Being owner operated, I expect good quality bur the dishes were just incredible...I expect this at a Chris bianco restaurant but not a diner in a city building. Just try the veg Ruben and see if you have had anything better. I'm loving downtown Mesa

Cute little cafe! My only complaint is that the menu is a little complicated/confusing. It could be simplified and/or formatted differently. The food is great though! The Sourdough Burger is my favorite.

My girlfriend and I came here at 10:50 for breakfast. We stood at the door for a few minutes, unsure of whether to seat ourselves, and no one greeted us. After finally acknowledging us, the server said “You know you two can sit anywhere, right?” Like, no, we did not know that, because there are no signs or employees giving us that information. We sat and waited for a bit, ordered drinks, and decided on what entrees to get. Eventually, the server approached us and said “so you can have anything but breakfast.” When my girlfriend verified this with her she condescendingly said, “Yes, sweetie, it’s 11:00.” Which, you know, I get. Restaurants all over stop serving breakfast at certain times, it’s not a big deal. We decided to take another minute to decide on what we wanted. After a short time, the server took our lunch order, and after a frankly difficult process of deciding what sides we wanted by trying to read a chalkboard menu on the other side of the dining room (which, short tangent, why were the sides not in the menu? If the sides are daily specials, and on a rotation, then just print off new menus daily. The menus were already paper, it doesn’t make sense) she then told us that the cook was leaving to make a delivery and that our order wouldn’t be made until the cook came back. What?? Why is your cook leaving??? What kind of restaurant designs itself to have the only person capable of preparing the food leaving the restaurant to deliver it? Ignoring the fact that the server tried to shame us into staying by saying “Well it’s only gonna be 15 minutes, you’ve got time for that, right?” It was a bizarre experience that has ever happened to me ever in a restaurant before. It is so easy to have even a semblance of a plan when operating a business, but clearly it’s too much for these owners. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had and I still can’t get over the fact that the ONLY COOK left in the MIDDLE of service. 1 star is too much for a restaurant that straight up doesn’t sell food sometimes during business hours. I’d tell you not to come here but between its confusing location and slightly hidden entrance you probably wouldn’t ever visit anyways.

Went based off the great reviews but wasn't overly impressed. The food was tasty but just seemed like food I would make at home. Food was served on paper plates. Had to wait a while to get ketchup and mustard for our burgers.

We had breakfast here a few weeks ago. We were extremely let down by the food and service. Based on a 4.7 rate, we were extremely excited as this place is near home. The service and overall tasted doesn’t match the current google rating and the food photos nowhere near the actually food look and quality. It was a total disappointment, the food did not look appetizing, sunny side up eggs broken, looked brown and swimming in oil, the biscuits were not homemade, they tasted and felt like frozen boxed biscuits drenched in gravy sauce. Even black coffee was not good and tasted old or maybe the filter needed changed but it was not good. The only good food item was the pancakes, nice and fluffy. Aside from the poor food quality, the cook came to check on us and yelled at us saying it was not her fault the eggs broke without us saying anything about it. Another reason that we most likely won’t come back is because the entire time they addressed my husband for all orders and inquiries, so that seem a bit odd to us. Just overall maybe not a good day for this restaurant I hope but it’s a pass from now on for us.

If you are looking for simple, cozy, and good food look no further. This small cafe is cheap and worth the trip. For lunch they have many options and it comes out pretty quickly. Chicken salad or cuban sandwich with the sides. Specialties are good too. Nice place.

Just perfect for lunch. Small business with a family feel to it. Cindy took great care of us. My daughter can have trouble deciding what she wants to eat and Cindy took the time to figure out what she liked and made her something she ate all up. Everything is on sourdough bread. Beets and feta is a great side, the macaroni salad was also just right. Simple and delicious food. Price is right too.
