Extremely romantic atmosphere and the wait staff was polite. Very pricey so be prepared to spend about 600 for two if you plan on having drinks. Our total came out to about 700+ with tip and also ordering caviar and drinks on top of the 2 four course meals we had. Definitely was an experience and very romantic but you may be hungry by the end! The whole experience lasted 3 hours so be prepared to block out some time for it! Atmosphere was great and they have complimentary valet!

Can't say enough about Cafe Monarch. One of, if not, the best restaurants I or my wife have ever been to. The service is probably what stands out most but the food is delectable, exquisite, and fine dining at it's best. They truly made an excellent anniversary and our first time dining with them, a remarkable experience that we want to have again, as soon as possible. Quite pricey but I would have to say it was worth every dollar. Go here for your special occasions, you only live once.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our 10 year anniversary dinner at Cafe Monarch. We were looking for something intimate and elegant for our special celebration. This place is exactly it! From the minute we walked in to check in they congratulated us. We were sat down at our table with a complimentary glass of champagne for our celebration. We also received our menu with an unexpected custom message on it and got to take home the menus with our name. The food was absolutely amazing! Truly a work of art. The service was phenomenal. The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. We sat on the back patio with only 2-3 other tables which only had a party of 2 at each table. It was very initiate and romantic as we were hoping for. I got the Surf and Turf for the fourth course and it was the best steak I’ve ever had! It practically melted in my mouth. It’s true when they say you get what you pay for. I would recommend Cafe Monarch again and again!

What a superb experience! Came here for a double date night birthday celebration. We started with the caviar, and we had the sommelier select a bottle of Pinot for our table to share. We all had the 8 course selection, and the food was superb accompanied by superb service. My favorites were the oyster, shrimp, wagyu and passion fruit dessert! 🦪🦐🥩🍰🤤🤤😍 they were also extremely accommodating with dietary restrictions for our friend. It was such an enjoyable night all around from start to finish, we were one of the last parties to leave because we didn’t want the night to end. They were even so kind so help us take a group photo outside of the restaurant and had special lighting for it and then valet had our car ready and waiting for us by the time we stepped foot outside of the restaurant! Dear God this was restaurant easily one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. I had to go back a few days later. Top mentions are: 1 Get the 8 Course, trust me, 2 The wait staff is incredibly trained, 3 the steak is one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, 4 You’re gonna spend money here, but it’s worth it. We were a group of four and spent about $400 each without getting drinks. This easily deserves at least a two star Michelin award.

All I am saying - these guys are professionals. The best staff in any restaurant I have ever been to. The food is magnificent. The cuisine is unique. Each series you order (we ordered four) is completely different and exceptionally prepared. What a treat. What fun. What flavor! You need to reserve your spot in Cafe Monarch in advance. It’s tough to get in. Worth the effort and definitely worth the wait.

A wonderful four course meal offered by great chefs. The staff is the real gem here ensuring an absolutely great experience from start to finish. Each staff member had excellent knowledge of the chef's offerings and have a great sommelier available for any hobbyists. We went here with our friends for our anniversary and we did not pass by a single person without their congratulations and warm smiles. They had an stunning out door seating environment that I think I would recommend over the inside. In the middle of winter, we found ourselves perfectly warm and cozy.

There aren’t enough stars in the sky to describe our experience here. We were at a party of four celebrating our daughter’s 28th birthday. We chose the prix fixe with the wine pairing. Our sommelier, Robert, was absolutely fabulous. His explanation of the food and the wine was enjoyable and welcomed. We can’t wait to go back again.

Now this restaurant is an experience without a doubt! Started with the pleasant phone call to confirm my reservation. The valet was an absolute sweetheart. The place is stunning, for a second I forgot I was still in old town Scottsdale. The staff makes you feel like royalty. Our server/sommelier, Michael, was beyond incredible. And the food, oh my heaven, when I took every single bite I swear I felt like I died and went to heaven. Every dish was worth every penny. To top it off because I celebrated my birthday there their menu had a cute happy birthday note on it for me and they give the girls a small gift box with the dessert. This fine dining gives you an experience that is unmatched anywhere else.

Went for a double birthday dinner with brother and his wife at the chefs reserve table. Did not disappoint. Was so much fun. The waiter was very helpful and explained everything. We met the chef and got a picture with him, which was great. Can't pinpoint the best of the eight courses as 6 tied for first. Didn't get the wine pairings, but the wine the waiter recommended for our coursed were fantastic. Highly recommend.

Simply exquisite. Up there with any fine dining experience, but cozier and more approachable than many. While briefly waiting to be seated the bartender noticed my friend and I pointing to one of the scotches and he brought over and a menu and chatted, then brought some to the table. The type of place that would get better with multiple visits and knowing the lay of the land, but for me and many, probably just an annual visit. Also of note: the most accommodating I’ve ever seen a fine dining restaurant be for allergies.

This place is second to none as far as my greater Phoenix dining experiences go. The food was phenomenal, the service was on point. Noah took great care of us and was one of the most knowledgeable servers I've ever met. The atmosphere is extremely romantic with candle light everywhere and I could not fault one single bite of food. I had the 4 course Surf and Turf trio, my Wife had the 4 course Duck, and we both opted to get the MP wine pairings with our courses....simply WOW! Impeccable experience from start to finish. I've heard a lot of Monarch for years at this point, and finally trying it, it lives up to the hype. Despite being fine dining to the max, the service is attentive, friendly, unpretentious and eager to share their cuisine and wine with you. I had a blast nerding out with the somm about one of the new Chilean producers they brought in. Gorgeous plating, incredible flavours in their four course dinner. We also added oysters, and let's just say, they were so good that my mother, who refuses to eat raw anymore, had one. The setting is really relaxed, which is hard to achieve when there is always someone ready to refill your glass, change our plates and cutlery, tell you about the food, etc. I will definitely need to dig deep in my wallet to relive this experience again. Phenomenal evening.

Me and my twin sister came here for our 24th birthday along with our sugar daddy. Our server (Hugh Jackman) was a strong playable character and conversed in lovely conversation with us throughout the night that ranged from cannibalism to family trauma. He even brought us some lovely champagne hand picked from a vineyard in France. We opted for the chefs special 8 course meal. As an undiagnosed anorexic I felt that this was a bit too much food before 4th of July, but I binged none of the less. The ambiance gave early 2000s old money house. Kind of reminded me of playing wii while my parents divorce in the kitchen. Overall lovely vibes and I could not have asked for a better birthday. The present and sparkler was the cherry on top. Will be back with possibly a raya date in the coming week. Cheers.

We have been to this place couple of times. Our experience with service and food quality has been amazing. The waygu A5 beef steak is the most delicious of steaks we ever tasted- super soft , juicy and flavorful. Every time we tried their tasting menu it has been very flavorful. I would definitely recommend my friends and family to this place. I can say that if Michellin raters came here it would be a michellin star place.

There's an easy luxurious vibe that permeates Cafe Monarch. Once you've made your reservation online, the staff quickly calls you to gather important information regarding events being celebrated or if you have dietary concerns. Upon arriving, you're cared for in the most natural and unassuming way possible. Certainly the decor and the menu (and price) indicate this as a fine dining experience, but there remains a sense that the staff truly want you to have a good time. They want you to love your experience. That said, the place isn't stuffy, either. With vaulted ceilings, tile floors, and plenty of indoor seating (there's a patio, too), the place is almost a little loud with boisterous conversation and laughter. It's all high end, but is comfortable in its own skin and the sense of relaxation is welcome. The prix fixe menu actually feels like it has lots of options. Both of us ordered off the vegetarian menu and each of the four courses contained options that forced us to make some difficult choices. Of particular note was the spanakopita, which was glorious, and the vegetarian lasagna, which was unlike (in all the right ways) any lasagna I've ever tasted. The oyster mushroom stack was also unique and delicious. It must be stated that the sommelier, Wesam, is a cut above. His true passion to deliver the most generous and easy care to our table was memorable and ingratiating. A casual question about the tomato marmalade on one of the courses from my fiancee resulted in his hand-writing the recipe down for us before the end of dessert. Who does that? The price might be concerning, but if you're in the market for a dinner you will likely tell everyone you know all about, then it's time to splurge on Cafe Monarch. It will likely become the place you go to when you have milestones to celebrate. Because ultimately, this place is one of the only places you'll find in the valley that knows how to design a genuine celebratory night.

This is absolutely my favorite restaurant in town. The first place we went to after the unfortunate pandemic. Why? They serve gastronomic meal along with excellent service. They served four course meal but you can get à la carte if you sit at the bar. We've always done the course menu. Their menus is seasonal so you can preview it ahead of time.

A most lovely dining experience. I took my niece here for dinner because I am a lover of good food and this place absolutely deserves the highest of ratings. The service was absolutely wonderful, Noah and Juan were our servers and they were absolutely divine. Our courses were brought out in a timely manner, not too quickly nor slowly, a rough five minutes between each to give time for our food to settle, for us to talk, and situate any additional drinks we may have wanted in between. Do take into consideration that this is a full dining experience and expect your stay to last at least two hours. The food was spectacular. Rich in flavor and texture all around. After trying the roasted cauliflower soup as my first dish, I knew there was not a single dish on their menu I would be displeased with, and as the courses continued to arrive throughout the night, my expectations were met and exceeded each time. Noah was gracious enough to let us know that any allergies or preferences would be accommodated as well. The ambiance was beautiful, low lit, comfortable, and, most importantly, private feeling. I'm a person who enjoys my distance from other diners while conversing or eating and the distance was appreciated, especially with the need to social distance in these trying times. Easily a very romantic restaurant but comfortable for meetings with clients as well. At the end of our meal, we could not eat another bite so we ordered our desserts to go and the servers wrapped our remaining course for us and our bill was taken care of promptly, something I greatly appreciate. The only place I could compare this to is Arnaud's in New Orleans and Arnaud's is a fine dining establishment that has been five stars for more than one hundred years and even then the service at Cafe Monarch was a step above thanks to Noah and Juan's impeccable, beautiful, gracious attitudes and attentiveness. I truly want to express how exceptional Noah and Juan were, not to take away from how phenomenal the food was, of course. I absolutely will return and hope to become a regular here if my schedule will allow such.

We happened to be in the area and had heard about the restaurant so we stopped in. It was early maybe 5:30 or 6. The place was fairly empty. The hostess was very gracious when we asked if we could sit at the bar and have a drink. When she asked the bartender he had a snobby attitude and said the bar is reserved for patrons waiting for their tables. There weren’t any patrons waiting for their tables! The attitude was enough to put me off of that restaurant!

Wonderful all around. They make things you would never even think to be delicious.. Exactly that.. Delicious. Creative and elegant dishes that you'll never forget. The ambiance is gorgeous, and the wait staff is impeccable. Not stodgy feeling at all, yet still classy. We were made to feel comfortable, and I appreciate that. The only issue I've had (the two times I've been, had the same problem each time..), is that the dinner scallops, although perfectly cooked.. Had sand in every bite. I can't get through a whole one without struggling. Other than that.. Everything was on point.

This is the best place for couples like me and my boyfriend to date. They served us really nice and quick. Their dishes from the menu were so great. I will come here again and bring along my friend next time to try other menus!!

This is a 5 star restaurant that I’ll only give 4 stars. We dined there last night for my husbands birthday and the restaurant is gorgeous. We were outside, weather was great, all of the staff was wonderful and the food was delicious. The pitfall, we had a table to the left where every 5 minutes this young lady would start going off and yelling at people at her table. Then the tables behind us had, had quite a bit to drink and decided to make friends with each other and were talking across the restaurant, drunk and loud then wandering around taking pictures. At the end, we asked our server if this was typical customers - he said the table next to us were regulars who spend a lot of money, the other were from out of town. Will we be back? Maybe, it’s not quite the dining experience we were hoping for and to spend the money again and chance a meh evening again we may not.

This was a great 4-course experience. Even though the food was amazing, the cocktails were still somehow the highlight of the meal for me. You pay a premium for the service and ambiance, but it's worth it for a special occasion.

We celebrated our newly wedded dinner at Cafe Monarch on March 4, 2020. The food was amazing. I recommend the Cauliflower Soup, Brussel Sprouts and the Vegetable Risotto. My husband had the Steak Tartare and the Rack of Lamb. We were treated to champagne and a complimentary desert. The atmosphere was beautiful and the service was exceptional.

My wife and I went here for our birthdays. Let’s just say we were not disappointed! I never leave reviews let alone 5 star reviews. I would highly recommend coming here for any occasion. The food comes in four courses. The first three are smaller portions but are literally the perfect amount because by the end you will be full! The house staple is the cauliflower soup and man was that amazing (I don’t like cauliflower). It makes sense that this soup is what made them popular and has stayed on the menu consistently! For our birthdays they brought us cheesecake and macaroons with an ube gelato. I hate macaroons normally and these were by far the best macaroons I have ever had. Compliments to the chef’s and pastry chefs! Everything we had was top notch. Just as a tip: we did not see bread on the menu but we saw that another couple had bread so we asked to get some and man were we glad we did.

A nice fine dining restaurant. Very nice place. The wine list was very extensive. We would love to see more improvement on the meat selections. Service was excellent. We ordered the 8-course chef sampling dinner.

Not only is the food amazing but so is the service.

One of the most romantic restaurants I have ever been to and the food was fantastic. I would have given it 5 stars but we were there for New Year’s Eve and it was a rushed experience - they brought out the check as soon as we ordered dessert and final drinks and stood over our shoulders. They also didn’t bring the champagne that was supposed to be included (on the website) and when we asked about it they didn’t know anything about it. I’d recommend going when you have something to celebrate but not on a holiday or when it is expected that it will be busy so you can take your time and enjoy it properly.

Postino's will always be one of my favorite lunch spots! Their bruschetta is something I'm craving on a random day. They do have other really good food options- good paninis and salads.

Ate food from here for the first time (I've been living in Cal City for years) yesterday and I am so glad I did!!! I don't eat Thai food very often but this place is amazing! Had the pineapple rice, pork spare ribs and steamed chicken potstickers.

Cafe Monarch was selected by Trip Advisor as one of the top five restaurants in the U.S., and there's a reason. When visiting Scottsdale, we dined at Cafe Monarch and were delighted. The service was superb. Well staffed with polite waiters and specialized servers who fill your beverages and take your plates when ready. The fixed price made it simple, yet gave you a choice of three or more items in each course. Although Cafe Monarch is a high end restaurant, the atmosphere is relaxed, and we felt comfortable in our casual attire. My wife and I have been to top notch restaurants from L.A. to Seattle to New Orleans, and the delicious food and quality dining experience gives Cafe Monarch a well deserved reputation.

My dear husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and it was as wonderful as the last time we dined at Cafe Monarch. Each of our four dishes were balanced and delicious. We spent the evening on the patio after a desert rain and it was just absolutely perfect Arizona weather. I highly recommend the patio seating. We will be back!
