Not good 🤢 Pad Thai taste off & found bug in rice. I called and order to pick up… 13 mins later I pick up my food. (Nice, it was fast) however the chicken pad Thai I got had an off taste. Honestly, tasted like plastic 😬 My sister ordered a fried rice with chicken. Her dish was not bad… but it also was not good. Not seasoned at all. Also the extra protein was a total surprise! Two spoons into the rice and we realized there was a literal bug in her meal🪳 No thank you 😃 I’ve got concerns on the cleanliness of the kitchen. $30 down the drain.

I’m not sure where the 4.4 stars are coming from .. maybe I ordered the wrong thing? This was not good at all and usually I will try a few things before leaving a review but this was bad! Not tasty at all My favorite Thai restaurant is now under new management and they’ve changed the menu drastically so I’m on a journey to find my new favorite Thai restaurant in Tempe and Thai basil is a hard pass. I’ll start with the positive. The food was ready pretty quickly, if that’s your thing this place is for you. But if you actually like for your food to taste good.. read on. I ordered the drunken noodle with medium spice meaning a little kick but not too much. and this dish came with no spice no flavor at all! I mean these noodles are blander than standing in line at the DMV, blander than sitting in traffic in 106 degree weather (with no A/C) blander than waiting for AOL dial up connection. You get the point. The only flavor I got was that of a dirty wok/pan. An overworked burned wok. Yuck. The chicken was tough and hard to chew. The dish smelled nothing like drunken noodle or Thai food for that matter no scent of Thai basil whatsoever .. now that I think of it it smelled like the hint of burnt I tasted. They also cram all the noodles into cancer containers that create condensation and waters your food down even more, as if it wasn’t bland enough. They are also pricier than other Thai restaurants in the area. That being said.. on to the next! my quest to find a new Thai spot to call home continues ..wish me luck and stay tuned! Side note I went and picked up noodles from another Thai restaurant because I was not eating this and I’ve included a side by side to show the lack of seasoning flavor!

The owner of this restaurant is such a sweetheart. We have been coming to this restaurant since we moved to Tempe. Food was been amazing since the first time we tried it and service is always great. We got to meet the owner and she loves kids and my toddler remembered her. Today we stopped by for dinner and she sent us an appetizer (veggie rolls) which our toddler loved it. Thank you for the great food ☺️

This food was nasty. I ordered the drunken noodles. There was NO brown sauce. The noodles were huge, mushy and clumped together. I also order the spring rolls, they call them crispy. It was more like crispy because they were reheated atleast three times. It was crispy in a bad way. I spent 30 dollars on the food and wasn’t satisfied whatsoever didn’t even eat half. Service was friendly only reason they get two stars. Other than that will never go back.

Outstanding!!! Better than we anticipated. Top notch yummy. I had a cannabis gummy before going, and I wondered if I was just enjoying the red curry so immensely simply because I was thc hopped up. Nope. Had it as a leftover next day and it was definitely that delicious. Spring rolls top notch, coconut lemon grass soup phenomenal. Very cool atmosphere, family owned, service super friendly and on point. Can’t ask for better. It’s one of our staple go to spots from now on.

Its always a good vibe at this place. Lunch specials are my favorite. They have the best vegetable soup it is just amazing. Would definitely recommend the Thai teas as well. We have tried all curries, each one of them is equally good. My favorite is chicken fried rice. The portion is enough for 2 people easily. Even the soup comes in a huge bowl which is filling for 2 people.

I must say that I have been meaning to write a review of this restaurant for awhile, because this place is very good. The staff are always very friendly and the food is excellent. I've been to this restaurant many times, and I've never had a bad experience. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for good Asian food, because this place really does knock it out of the park!

Thai Basil is good. I was there with my wife and kids. We ended up getting Tom kha soup and pad Thai. I will have to say the soup is good, but I have had better. It was lacking the coconut flavor, which for me is huge and had more of the lemon grass flavor. So, it was more tart than coconutty. The pad Thai was great and very enjoyable. All in all, it was good, but not great, unfortunately!!!

Atmosphere is really cozy and nice. Staff was super sweet and attentive! We got green curry, pad thai, and thai fried rice! We got level 2 spice, which i wish we got level 3 or 4 cause it wasnt as spicy as we were expecting. Everything was super yummy and flavorful. Portions were huge, im happy to take some home for later:)

I like the sticky rice with mango. It's technically a dessert but I eat it as a meal. This is such a delicious dish that I went here 3 times in the past 4 days. I didn't even want to share any with my dad because I wanted to eat all myself. He asked to try some and I went feral trying to finish eating it as fast as possible. So voracious. Honestly, 10/10 would recommend to another person - but only for that one dish. It's going to be a famous one.

Tasty food! Unique interior! We ordered Crispy Calamari, Thai Fried Rice, Spicy Fried Rice, Red Curry, Thai Iced Tea, and chicken satay. The calamari was delicious and so yummy! Red Curry was very scrumptious! Fried Rices were mouthwatering! Thai Iced Tea was super tempting! The chicken satay was very flavorful! Our server Mark was very kind and delighted to serve us. He was very respectful!

Best Thai food in the valley, definitely on my top 5 list for best overall food in the valley. The curry is addicting. We are always coming back for more. And the serving sizes are huge with plenty of meat! They’ve only gotten bigger lately too, but the price is the same as it has been since 2020/2021. Personally I love their Yellow Curry. My husband likes their Massaman Curry. The staff is so nice and there is never a wait. I also love this place because of their healthy options. Lots of dairy free and gluten free dishes which is important since I have pituitary hypothyroidism. Overall you can’t do better than Thai Basil.

I ordered Thai Basil for the first time a few days ago and got it delivered. I love Thai food and have a few favorite places across the country. I was very surprised at how good their Thai eggplant stir fry was, I didn't expect it. The pad thai I got too was good, but the Thai eggplant was absolutely delicious. My room mate was fighting me to have more of it. I don't know who the cook was that night, but you popped off! I hope to order again and get the same cook. Thank you!!

This is my favorite restaurant. And I don’t even live in Tempe anymore! I always get the Pad See Ew or the Thai Basil dish- and whenever I’ve tried tried getting similar dishes in my hometown it was never as good as they make it here. The service is excellent and quick, the food has never disappointed me, they are very accommodating, the decor is lovely, and I make it a point to come here every time I’m in town!

I came here a few weeks ago with my boyfriend and his family and it was amazing. It was my first experience with Thai food and I was blown out of the water. Fast forward to today, It’s currently 2:15pm and i have been in bed the entire day with food poisoning. I ordered the same thing I did before which was the Panang (with shrimp) and spring rolls. Honestly such a bummer to have to leave a review like this but i would’ve liked to know the potential risk of food poisoning so i’m assuming you would too.

It was okay. I use to eat at Thai Basil often when I lived in Colorado so I was happy to see one in Tempe however, it was not as good. I ordered Pad Thai with chicken and got chicken and tofu which I can't eat. I had to go and pick out all the tofu. Even then the rest was ehhh. The pot stickers were good

Have been coming here for decades since it's opening. Always order the red curry with chicken. As your seated you're offered an amazing free cup soup. Service is always spectacular whether they're busy or not. The mini fried roll is an added benefit to entree. Have never been disappointed and will continue to return.

Great food and great prices. Came here while in town for a conference. The best part is that they give you curry with rice included and don’t charge it as a side. Lately it feels like all the places in California charge extra for rice which is annoying. Grateful they don’t do that here. Also the food came out quickly and all of it was delicious!!!!
