Been wanting to come here ever since I saw that episode of Texas Bucket List. He is right, it was well worth a stop on the bucket list! Everything is awesome about this place. The staff is absolutely amazing. Our server, D, was a hoot. Really made our dining experience memorable. My steak was prepared perfectly and I didn’t get cheated, I’m sure it was larger than what I ordered. I sampled some of the pork chops and I have to admit, may be one of the best pork chops I’ve ever eaten. So Tender! D’s special dessert was a brownie with pecan cobbler and ice cream on top…AMAZING! I loved every moment of my trip to Leona. I highly recommend this place. Come out and support your local restaurants and avoid chains. This place is a must if you’re in the area.

My wife and I both ordered steak and were blown away! It is a perfect cut of steak, perfectly seasoned, and PERFECTLY cooked. The steak was melt in your mouth delicious. The garlic butter red potatoes...heavenly. We rounded it off with some black berry cobbler...Best I've ever had. What's wild is for us both to have all this deliciousness is it was so affordable! This place is an absolute must and is hitting WAY above its weight class. Go.Eat.There

BYOB Rustic Texas style Steakhouse. Wow the meat is best around. Great flavor and very tender meat cut. Bring an appetite. You can get chicken or pork... but why? Loved the meal and the peach cobbler was perfect!

Been on bucket list to eat a juicy steak at Leona General Store. Rode our Goldwing motorcycles from Galveston County, wanting to be in line at 3:30 pm for 5:30 pm opening. Got an opportunity to meet and converse with friends from east and mid Texas. The steaks were worth the wait. Friendly waitresses, cooks, atmosphere, great steaks and desserts!!!! We are already talking about making another trip !

Great food in a cozy, country space. There was a waiting list when we arrived, but it moved along fairly quickly and we weren't in a hurry. There is lots of outdoor seating, unfortunately they do not serve outside on the patio. Lots of horse show and historical memorabilia, much of it being local items. The menu is limited, there wasnt actually a menu when we came in, but what they offer has been perfected over the years and that's why it's so highly rated! I ordered the steak (medium) and the flavor was exceptional. My bf ordered the pork and was very happy with it as well! It comes with a side salad, roll and potatoes. Definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in the area!

Still…hands down…why Leona General Store is on the TX Bucket List…my opinion—BEST STEAK IN TEXAS!!! Ask for the singing server, Drenda! 🎵 She’s been there 22+ years and knows her steak!!! Get dessert! 😋 You’ll feel like you can’t eat another bite…but you CAN! Pecan cobbler, blackberry cobbler, or brownie and ice cream!!! No words can truly describe…Your drive will be worth it!!!

Great atmosphere and really tasty steak, pork and chicken. Worth the 2 hours drive going and back (4 hours total).

We had so much fun at Leona General Store! The steaks were delicious! And I loved the grilled chicken!
