What a surprise! Apart from the botanical gardens in Birmingham, this is a wonderful "hidden" garden within a city metropolis! There were lovely flowers, landscaping, paths and lawns. Bees were pollinating everywhere without being worried by us human beings. Butterflies of different varieties were lazily flying around. It was all beautiful. The funny thing was that our kids spent the most time nosing around the vegetable garden, seeing what was grown and what was still growing! We ignored the maze though. The holly-hedge walls looked a little too prickly for our liking! ...of course all of that was during the summer. It's all completely different in the winter; still good to walk around and see nature at any time of the year.

Great garden to visit. Hall is a hotel only the garden is part of the trust. But it's an amazing bid garden.

First visit and had a throughly lovely day walking round the grounds on a beautiful sunny afternoon with friends. Loads of tables and benches strategically placed to sit down and enjoy a picnic. I understand it is totally run by volunteers so 'hats off' to them for this little gem of a place. Will certainly visit again and hope to attend on one of their event days.

We came here as it was part of the Rhs Partner gardens scheme. They are gardens with loads possibles they just could do with some more tlc. There are some lovely plants and the gardens were well laid out but there are a lot of weeds in all the beds and the gardens look a bit tired. There's a lovely little tea shop selling homemade cakes and nice hot and cold drinks.

Nice walk in quiet wild park and gardens, seen at its best in spring with apple blossom, bluebells and tulips. Brownies in the cafe were ace. Staff were really friendly and helpful and created a nice atmosphere for visitors.

Beautiful hidden gem. We went on a day when there had been torrential rain and the garden didn't look open. However, the staff were great. Very welcoming and offered to make us a hot drink even though the cafe wasn't open. £5 per adult entry with gorgeous grounds to walk around, a maze to explore and a wealth of wonderful plants. Even saw what we think was a red squirrel!

This a hidden gem of a place with lot of history. Nicely laid out gardens. Our visit was during very hot spell so the plants, shrubs and in particular the lawns parched. The visit was only to the garden, the hall is used as an hotel which is now out of bounds. Apparently, they used to do short guided tours but since the COVID pandemic it's been cancelled. Nice little cafeteria is available. Note the gardens are not open on Monday and Tuesday's.

5 stars for the garden itself. Very scenic and pretty. There’s a maze too which is fun. A nice cafe with hot and cold drinks, option of hot food ice creams and sweet snacks. A cute little gift shop too which was lovely. However, the staff I felt could’ve been nicer. All staff were lovely and welcoming apart from one member. Nothing major but still didn’t feel welcomed. When we arrived we was told it’s £10.00 each, after I said that I rang before and was told it was £4.50 she said no it’s £5 each. I looked confused and she said well are you a student after saying yes she then gave us the entrance fee of £4.50. All was well and we enjoyed walking round the garden. Me and my friend decided to go for a drink. We went and got a drink and my lemonade was £2.80 I however only had £2.60 in change or a £20 note I handed them the £20 note and apologised about the change. She rolled her eyes and immediately said ‘we don’t have change for that’ I was about to change my order instead because I didn’t want to be a hassle but my friend gave me change in order to get the drink. Which doesn’t sound major but I was made to feel ridiculous for not having the exact amount of change. I bought some things from the gift shop so I had some change to get something to eat later on. I ordered a brownie and a packet of crisps and me and my friend sat down to eat. When we looked to our rights the lady was staring at us, we thought maybe it was a glance but it seemed to be she was watching us. Wether it’s because we are young and they thought we were there for a hassle but still that is no excuse. I loved the gardens but the staff did unfortunately ruin it for us. As someone who suffers with social anxiety this upset me because I struggle as it is to pay for things and ask for things.

Beautiful gardens packed with a variety of plants. Wonderful design with historic buildings, plants and ambiance. Lovely coffee shop and toilets in necessary places. The people visiting are all friendly. It's a great place to visit just 7 minutes from JLR and B&Q on the Chester road but feels rural and peaceful. A great escape to well designed gardens.

Some friends introduced us to this garden which was very nice and had some beautiful flowers and paths round a walled garden. A small maze too and a bummer house, and orangey. The tea rooms was also very pleasant and we enjoyed a cream tea there at a very reasonable cost.

We have been coming to gardens for years and can say that Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens is one of our favourite places to visit. ( we love it so much we became life time members of the trust). We've celebrated birthdays, blossom picnics and this year when the lock down eased my husband and i renewed our vows. The historical gardens truly is a hidden gem, with acres of land perfect for children and adults to explore the great outdoors, or simply to be one with nature. With plenty to do with events throughout the year all perfectly organised. Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens also rather booking for larger events. So if you are looking to get married i would definitely recommend this place. From booking the day to the actual day is a very smooth process. The staff are amazing and made things very easy. You can bring dogs to CBHG as long as they are on short lead. They do hot drinks and do cream teas. You can bring your own picnics to and enjoy them in the depths of the garden. They also have a holly maze which has taken us 10mins to complete. Theres just so much to do. You will love it.

Have lived nearby for all my life and never thought to visit. Really glad I did! The gardens are a separate entity to the hall, which is an adjacent hotel. At £5 it is well worth visiting. There is a large, well maintained formal garden with a maze as well as plenty of large spaces to walk, sit, picnic and just relax. There are events for adults and children throughout the main party of the year. You can take a picnic or buy refreshments, including cream teas, at the Orangery. Very well organised for these covid times with plenty of seating areas, including an open marquis should you want shelter. My parents and five year old thoroughly enjoyed our visit

Our visit to the gardens exceeded our expectations! I had worked here over 35 years ago and the improvement in the grounds and gardens is very impressive. The formality of the layout has been maintained but the originality of planting with some very natural borders and beds is really lovely. There are more diverse areas than I remembered which makes it interesting for the solo visitor and for a family gathering too The cream tea was first class and every member of staff we spoke to really enhanced our enjoyment of the day. Thank you so much.

The whole family decided to get together. This was after we were told that we could venture out after having been stuck inside during Covid19. The ground were clean and the children had ample room to run around. This is a voluntary run Estate so having been in lockdown and considering the work that goes in maintaining an estate of this size is testimony to the staff. Staff were very helpful and eager to help. There was honey being sold in the grounds that was produced by the bees that roam the grounds. We bought 2 jars. Very tasty ! We have vast Estate near Bristol where we live but it was nice day so we decided to see something different. It was a lovely day out. Oh by the way do take with you a picnic hamper! Enjoy.

We enjoyed a lovely visit to these beautiful gardens. The gardens were reasonably accessible for a wheelchair user. The only comment I would make is that the accessible toilet was right at the back behind the other toilets and baby changing with just enough room to negotiate the wheelchair around the corners to access the toilet. We had a cream tea in a box which consisted of a small plain scone with a helping of jam and cream. Although this included a drink we felt that for £5.00 it was over priced considering you could get a hot pie and a drink for £4.00. Overall an enjoyable occasion in a beautiful setting.

This was a lovely afternoon stroll round the garden with lovely Halloween activities for the children. The cost was really goo. The people who were there was really nice and welcoming and so nice to the children. Highly recommend. The coffee and cake was delicious ******

This is a real gem. It is totally unexpected to find a beautiful garden like this in a built up area. There is plenty to explore. The garden is well planted and maintained and the interesting selection of plants are well labelled. Children will enjoy the maze. Tea and coffee (including cream teas) are available. They also offer delicious award winning pies. However, many will be disappointed by their diminutive size (similar to a snack pork pie) having waited half an hour for them to be cooked.

Gem of a place very historic garden with massive variety of interesting apple trees as well as a huge variety of borders and formal gardens. Not over precious or too formal so you can have a good ramble around and take time to find the special plants. Honey available from the on site cafe shop is remarkable due to the huge variety of plants.

A wonderful experience, staff were very helpful and friendly. Very good place for weddings, the building and the gardens is wonderful for wedding pictures. But for some areas of the garden, it is best to wear trainers or flat shoes. Overall the venue and the food was excellent 👌. Castle Bromwich Hall was very clean and comfortable for the guests and wedding party.

We turned up as google stated it was open but apparently it’s closed in January, there was a private function being prepared and they were kind enough to let us have a walk round while they were doing their thing. Not much in the way of flowers etc but expected that due to the time of year so will have a return visit when everything is in bloom to get the full experience

A nice walk to do around the castle gardens, though not what I expected. A £5 charge is for visiting the grounds, there are nice flowers to look at all around, a human sundial too. There are very small ponds with scarcely any wildlife (apart from insects). There are benches to sit in and around. A lot of grass if you'd like a picnic. I prefer a more alive garden with more things to see; perhaps visiting in early springtime isn't what makes this place worth visiting, as the plants needed some time to grow and look beautiful. However, there were some entertainers/actors on the day I visited, educating about the English Civil War. That was the highlight of my trip. This place is dog and child friendly so feel free to bring them along and have a nice trudge around the area. If the weather is nice, I'd say bring some food and a large towel to have a picnic here (though there is also a cafe just outside the garden at the entrance). (I am not dissuading anyone to visit this place though, if you like nature and being outdoors, then I highly recommend a visit)

Great place to look around or if you do not want to pay into the gardens you can sit and have a cuppa in the courtyard. Lots of different activities throughout the month. The doggie cafe is fantastic.

Castle Bromwich Hall & Gardens Trust is an ok place, nothing special around. Car parking is free, £5 for adult in the entrance need to pay, there is a cafe beside the entrance. And there is a place you can do a wedding. But 1 criticism I have is when I received a map the first thing I saw was a maze and I was so excited about it. But when I reached the destination point I walked around the garden, there was no maze, I thought I expect to have a big maze.

We went today for afternoon tea i. The Castle Bromwich Hotel , the grounds looked beautiful unfortunately too wet to walk around . We were greeted very nicely by a gentlemen who took our order for hot drinks and then the afternoon tea arrived and it looked beautiful , however I can only give it a 2 out of 10 for taste , sandwiches were ok but the little cakes and puddings were tasteless. There wasn’t a spoon to eat the little cake in the pot so used my coffee spoon . Although I appreciate its 400 years old there were dead wasps or flies on the window ledge and it was very dusty . I would go back to look around the grounds again but not to eat , sorry I couldn’t give this a better review . THIS REVIEW WAS FOR CASTLE BROMWICH HOTEL , not the hall and gardens .

Absolutely a beautiful estate with tons to do. They are trying to be protective for Covid with an incredible amount of hand sanitizer stations, but most were empty so definitely don't rely on those. The castle ruins are pretty and it is just an amazing place for kids. I can't imagine not visiting this as often as possible with them.
