What an amazing museum, absolutely fantastic. Extremely informative with guides willing to answer any questions you may have. Stunning displays of military equipment most of which you can sit in, guns and weapons you can hold. The tank, the spitfire, the hospital truck, all the vehicles, truly amazing. Thoroughly recommend to young and old to learn about ww2 and the D-day landings. Gets the thumbs up from me 👍🏻

Visited yesterday as a small family and all had a really great time a shame this place is so small as would of stayed on. Fully interactive museum with many vehicles and weapons to get your hands on. Plenty of information and very educational. One young lad (didn’t get his name) was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the war and spent plenty of time answering questions and providing information. Would 100% recommend to anyone staying in the area, keep up the good work guys!

A great interactive experience and great staff. You can sit in the vehicles, you can handle the war time rifles such as M1 Garand, M1 Carbine and the famous Thompson sub. Staff is very knowledgeable and can walk you through the stories everything there. Dont forget to go in the bunker upstairs and have a tour of the Sherman :)

Wonderful museum exhibiting many items with which to interact. One of the docents, Geoff Freeman, was a great help in guiding us and making our visit an enjoyable experience.

A great place to visit. Only meant to be 10mins but ended 90 mins! Very informative staff who even accompanied me around explaining and talking about it all. Lots of American equipment, including anti aircraft gun, used in Band of Brothers. Definitely will visit again when in Weymouth. PS, might even treat the wife!! Thank you to all the staff, fabulous visit. It's a MUST to visit.

Despite the appearance of a small building, the museum is packed with original WWII items - trucks, rifles, clothing etc etc. Everything is hands on and you can sit in the various vehicles and pick up the guns etc. The three men working there on the day we visited were welcoming, friendly and extremely knowledgeable showing us how things work and encouraging picking things up. A superb place to visit and right next to the Castle. Good value for money.

Fantastic museum in Castletown, Portland. The first museum that actively encourages you to handle weapons and climb into vehicles. Takes a very people centric approach by describing some of the individuals involved in the DDay landings.

I dont normally enjoy wandering around museums, but this place, wow. A great museum, well worth a visit if you are in the Weymouth area. Most exhibits can be handled and sat in. A great tribute to D Day. Spent 2 hours here taking it all in. £10 well spent and worth the entry fee. Well done.

This is probably the best interactive WW2 museum that you'll ever find! It's an amazing collection of weaponry, machinery, uniform, and local history, alongside a wealth of knowledge from its staff; It's definitely worth a visit.

We loved this interactive well thought out museum. Feeling the weight of the equipment and artillery really made me appreciate those who fought in the war. The staff were really helpful and knowledgable. We had an excellent experience.

This place is brilliant! It has great atmosphere, incredible range of vehicles that you get into, a wide range of artifacts, but most importantly it tells individual stories of soldiers involved on D-Day, some of whom didn't make it back. Knowledgeable and helpful volunteers too.

👍👍 I don't even know if the Heritage Centre was open or not because I just wanted to see that little rock building, it is soo cute. I snuck in at the side as the main gate was locked to take a few pictures. It is a lovely shape. I think the information board shows it is a windmill just lost its head, b...
