This has to be one of the most toxic /unprofessional establishments I have ever come across. The staff are rude ,obnoxious, absolutely no customer care. Staff lack sheer empathy. Children are expected to be left on their own even though they are under 18. Parents are no allowed. Otherwise they threaten to stop treatment. There are serious safeguarding issues that need to be addressed. They sell you products at a ridiculous price making out the treatment will not go ahead unless you purchase those products. My child developed a cavity under their care which they kept brushing under the carpet and said nothing to worry about. Considering it was lockdown and I wasn't able to find a dentist that would take my child unless it was a emergency. That filling became a root canal and he lost his tooth. They also stopped his treatment without my knowledge because my child said no to removing 2 healthy teeth. The only reason people come here is the free treatment for children referred by their dentists under the NHS. It would be In your best interest to avoid this establishment.

Every appointment I attended at Ortho Exclusively would be traumatic! Some of the staff talk so rudely to you, some of them don’t even know what there doing! and Dr Gillian Cottam is one of them. She has no manners or respect at all. She talks to her customers as If she’s in charge of them, I don’t know how she’s managed to keep her surgery open! You can’t even wait for your appointment in a waiting room, instead you are made to sit on a wall outside the practice, sometimes it could be raining and they wouldn’t even care. Do not attend this house or horrors!

Not impressed with this place. It seems the 'revolving door' is in full effect here. Quantity over quality. They just want you in the door and out even faster. My son was recently referred there to have some braces fitted. The first appointment was during the COVID-19 epidemic so I have to cut them some slack but making people wait OUTSIDE the building was a bit much - especially when they were all gathered close together anyway? My son had a scan and that went well and we were told he'd have braces at next appointment which was about 3 months later. Next appointment came and we found that they just wanted to do the scans again because the first ones were wrong. Maybe they could have told us this? My son was really anxious and this didn't help a nervous 14 year old. Staff always had a smile but we're never helpful. For example, staff would say 'go and wait in the waiting room upstairs' but we didn't know where it was? Next appointment the braces were fitted in about 35 seconds. No advice, no effort to explain anything - my son still isn't comfortable chewing and wasn't even told how to remove the retainer for cleaning. Just ushered to leave. The staff didn't even bother to introduce themselves and this does not help. Reception pushes you to buy a braces cleaning kit before the braces are even fitted but don't tell you how to even remove them to clean them! Just the hard sales technique. Not impressed and I would not choose to come here.

Dr Cottom is the most arrogant lady I met in my whole life..please everyone save your kids from attending this practice.They do not let the parents come in with the child.she is so moody and she also very mean to her staff.please get rid of her!!!!! I'm shocked the business is still running.She does not do her job properly,she does not listen to the client,she is very unprofessional full of herself.i will probably need to go private to redo my braces

they charge me for there dumb placement of my brackets wich arent on properly proceed then to change me and then a family member comes with me drags them in and makes them a patient LIKE NO aand the often change appointments aand then they try to be better by adding dumb memes on the wals staff is extremely rude and to my mum saying want me to translate when shes legit desi and speaks english they legit bought a home and made it a desntist place wait forgot toinclude the way she makes usopen our mouths without asking and plus staff are raicist and shout at parent like let them answer for me I HAVE DANM SOCIAL ANXIETY

Dr cottam is the most rudest vile person in the orthodontist industry I’ve never heard such horrible things the way she’s spoken to people SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!! she needs the sack

One of the worse place I've taken my daughter . A lady called Gillian cotton is very rude . You try and talk to her about treatment she walks off . This place makes u feel like your worth nothing I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE . No waiting room people in corridors cramped and at times wait out side don't care if its raining outside. Not happy at all .

I went here with my girlfriend the other week due to her retainer needed to be fixed, we arrived and sat upstairs in room 2, as she arrived she storms in the room and asked me to stand up from my chair, as I proceed to do that she kicks the chair to my direction as if I caused her to begin her menopause she then began to give cheek to my girlfriend me myself, and when she asked me questions under her breath n I replied to repeat herself she would then ignore me, but let’s get to the worst part she assumed I was my girlfriends dad.. as if to say this to insult me and to make me have a bad vibe about the place I have recommended my girlfriend to change orthodontist as the next time I come here with her I will say something to her face as I will never had that behaviour towards we and my girlfriend ever again, she even had the urge to tell my girlfriend to rip off her nails that she had done the weekend before which cost her some money then she was ever so upset, then the week before she told my mother in law to move aggressively in a tone which she has never had towards her before which made her very uncomfortable and unwelcome gillian cottam there will be a storm coming your way..

I’m surprised by some of the reviews on here. My 11 year old son had his first appointment approx 6 weeks ago, his assessment was thorough and they explained everything they were doing and showed me on the screen the scans and X-rays etc. Today he had his braces fitted. He was taken to watch a DVD on how to care and protect his braces and keep his teeth clean. The lady who fitted them again explained everything she was doing, gave him a choice of colours. The whole team were informative, helpful and friendly

After reading a couple of reviews I’ve gathered that everyone has had a bad experience at this dentist and with Dr Gillian. I would like to come on here and say I’ve had the worst experience especially with Dr Eddie Crouch who bangs on about how he can’t get hair transplant. The most rude and obnoxious man I’ve ever come across and the way he spoke to my mother was unacceptable! These “doctors” did not give me the full treatment after my braces were taken off and they were no where near ready to be taken off as my bite was not perfect. When they took off my braces they did not polish my teeth or fix the chips to make it look straight none of it! I remember coming back the next day thinking okay maybe they will do it today but no she just gave me my retainers and that’s it. No communication no advice or anything! I would not recommend anyone going here unless your mouthy and can put them in their place!

I'm leaving a review to share my experience today. After leaving a single voice mail for someone to call me back they did so very efficiently and made me an emergency check up to be seen in under 12 hours. Gill Cottam is very detailed and informative in respect of the brace fitting. I was also asked for some feedback which I volunteered some constructive advice which they were engaged in as they are focused on service improvement. Coming from a hr perspective I made a couple of suggestions which they could consider and Gill and her reception team were very keen to explore further, especially the ideas that supported the patients best interests and experience. Gill was very grateful for the suggestion I shared which Is evidence of a practice trying to deliver a high service committed to customer satisfaction. Thank you for making my voice feel valued

This place has greatly improved! I cannot fault it now at all ! The reception staff , Mrs Cottam, yes, even Mrs Cottam is delightful. I am very impressed with the excellent care , treatment and service. I have had both of my children’s braces treatment here and the staff are unfailingly polite and helpful. I would 100% recommend.

I really want to express how hard working the staff at this dentist are a lovely lady called Chloe at the reception is so helpful she definitely puts a smile on our visit I like to thank al and especially Chloe for making our visits so pleasant x

We had a first assessment for my sons braces.We where seen on time no delay X-ray taken buy the nice and very friendly lady who clearly explained everything she's going to do. Dr G Cottam is a very experienced lady very friendly, easy to talk to. She explained everything from the start to end and answered all my questions face to face . I was shown all my sons X-rays (my sons case is a little bit complicated)

We had a wonderful appointment today with Dr Gillian Cottam, everything was explained to my daughter and I and we were encouraged to take photos/notes to enable us to monitor her progress ourselves which I thought was fabulous! The whole process up till now has been smooth and efficient, I personally really liked Dr Cottam and found her very knowledgeable, this is clearly a teaching clinic and this needs to be taken into account when commenting on how she speaks to her ‘colleagues’

This place has improved when I was last here a few years ago, the waiting room is now in use which is great as we don't have to wait outside any more. The Dr Cottam is still the same, straight to the point but seems nicer as she has excellent staff who are very multi skilled and polite. My child had been on the waiting list for a few years and he is now having his braces fit but he needs to improve on his cleaning which he doesn't seem to listen to any advise from me as he's a teenager! However, a nice young lady went through cleaning techniques and showed him different was he could improve on his cleaning she was very informative, clear and very helpful she even explained about the brace and the importance of cleaning. To be fair I didn't see why cleaning would effect the brace but when she explained it made sense. I belive her name began with a 'S'. I think she got through to him as he's now using the disclose tables every week in preparation for his braces. Very pleased with the service so far and think the staff really help the practice run better!

My son was referred to Orthodontics Exclusively for an assessment last week. I did not expect that he would have the braces fitted on the same day. We were both very impressed with the whole experience. His teeth are crowded and misaligned. There are two big gaps between the upper teeth and the two teeth that should fill the gaps are quite behind where they should be. His lower teeth are also misaligned but not as bad. The nurse Shahnaz went though the whole process of the assessment with us first before checking my son’s teeth, taking photos and x-ray of them. After having consulted with Dr Cottam, we were told that my son could have the braces fitted straight away, as his teeth were clean, healthy and plaque free. I have to say that Dr Cottam is very experienced and efficient. When I looked into my son’s mouth after the braces were fitted, there were the springs to push some teeth away for bigger gaps, and the wires to bring forward the two teeth that were behind. It looked much more complicated than the braces I have seen. Thanks to the expertise of Dr Cottam, the fitting of the braces took only about 20 minutes. For the start he would only have the braces for the upper teeth, Dr Cottam told me. The ones for the lower teeth will be fitted later. Before the fitting, my son was shown a video about how to take care of the teeth with braces on, different brushes and how to use them, what food to avoid, etc. After the fitting, Dr Cottam had a chat with him about the importance of taking good care of his teeth when wearing braces. He was asked to watch the video again to let all the new information sink in. I watched with him both times. It was very informative. I was asked to purchase a cleaning kit set from the reception, which had everything my son needed to start the whole new teeth cleaning routine. To be fair, £10 for all the brushes, disclosing tablets, wax sticks, mouthwash and a handy small mirror is not bad, in my opinion. It turned out that they are all essentials, my son used everything in the pack from day 1. I also purchased some interspace brushes for him from Amazon which he also uses every day. I had a couple of questions after the fitting, the nurse Shahnaz answered them patiently for me. She also told me that she would send me an email with all the information, and if I had any questions I could always contact them by phone or email. All in all, we had an excellent experience. The receptionist (I don’t know her name) and the nurse were kind, patient and friendly. Dr Cottam was professional and experienced. We cannot ask for more really. Thank you all very much.

Saw this fantastic company after being assulted had my front tooth knocked out no dentist would except new NHS patients im in absolute agony i wont smile again . But these really are trying to help got intouch back with me straight away .. 100percent recommended

My daughter has had treatment here. Her teeth are looking so much better now. Usually no more than 5 minute wait to be seen. Just coming to the end of her treatment with her braces. She's much more confident about her teeth now.

When my daughter first came to see Dr Cottam she educated her very well on her oral hygiene which enabled her to be able to finally have braces fitted after taking on board all of the advice given. My daughter is now over a year into her braces journey and now finally smiles with pride. Thank you Dr Cottam for bringing my daughters smile back.
