Nice place for families to hangout. Well maintained garden with nice view of dam and nearby mountains. Lot of parking space avilable near the place. Newly built ropeway across the garden givs nice view of entire area. At the other side also there is a garden with famous sculpture of Mr.Kanayi kunjiraman named Yakshi. Weekends are much crowded on these days.

Such a beautiful place with mountains and water in perfect sync but the place could really use some maintenance and renovation. My parents in law had visited this place 27 years ago and they said it looked pretty much the same back then. I can only imagine how amazing it would have been. Could be due to Covid but if they make some minor changes, this will be a fantastic hangout spot no doubt.

The view is nice from the dam. There isn't a direct entry for the dam, you have to go through Malampuzha garden to enter the dam, the Malampuzha garden is not very clean. The parking is also not very good.

Accessible via public transport. Has the ropeway and a very little boating session (both with hefty fees) The place makes for a very brief sight seeing/ photo session with friends and THAT'S IT. No nearby places to find good food, had to come all the way back to city for that.

Nice place to spend an evening with family, friends & kids, walk all around. Take a ropecar ride, wouldn't recommend boating its super expensive for 15 mins as well as very restrictive. Needs Maintenance. You have coffeshops, snack, and water availability inside the park.

This place is good for a day tour. I would it is somewhat maintained well in comparison to other tourist destinations in Kerala. The view from the top of the dam is picturesque.

Although the garden is beautiful, it is deteriorating due to the negligence of the authorities, the condition of the children's park is very pathetic, the existing rides are in dangerous condition for children and the toy train is broken. It is imperative to restore the beauty of this endangered horticultural crop.

It's a wonderful place to visit. The garden is clean and well maintained. I went here 3 times within a week. When I first went the shutter was closed, the second and third time it was open. We enjoyed the cable car drive also. Most of the staff are friendly. But some staff near the Krishna fountain cool bar are not friendly. They were talking among themselves without caring for the customers. It will be more good, if more ramps are provided for senior citizens.

I would say maintenance of the area is very very bad. There is a huge scope of making it as a good tourism area. There is no any proper waste management. Many of the playing items for children is not working as expected in kids area. Area which is near to dam is looks clean and neat and beautiful as well. But going down forward it is not that much good.

Beautiful place... But staff is not supportive...Charge taking Rs 30 for one ticket, but we have to pay more money using toilet inside the place.👎 there is multiple gates as shortcuts to the roap way from the dam garden but they will not open, need to walk long for reaching roap way spot...

It's a gorgeous place that could be better maintained. But the sheer beauty of it pulls so many people. Sunset is the best time to go for a memorable walk with friends and family.

Malampuzha Dam is one of the main attractions in Palakkad, Kerala. There is a Garden, Snake Park, Aquarium, Ropeway, a Rockgarden in and around its surroundings. If you plan you itinerary in such a way that you start with one of the attractions around and then walk back to the Garden towards evening when the sun is not that hot. Just keep a note that due to Covid at the moment, the Dam, Garden, Rock Garden, Ropeway are open to the visitors. The Childrens park that is there inside the Garden, Aquarium etc were not open. To talk about my visit, it was just me and my husband who wanted to ride the Ropeway. We stay in around 5KM distance from Malampuzha, and we wanted to ride the ropeway. We being parent to a toddler Ropeway ride was something that we always had to leave off the list. So now when the Dam and Garden opened to Visitors we wanted to try the ride. I will say it was an Ok 20 min ride where you can see everything around the garden and it is ok to give it a shot. Just a couple getaway like that. Rate was I think between 80-100 per person. On our arrival there was temperature check, there is sanitizers available in the corners at entry and exit point. While visiting kindly take the necessary precautions and travel safety as needed per the Covid precaution norms.Malampuzha Dam , located in Palakkad district of Kerala is the largest reservoir in Kerala. We will get a good view of the scenic hills of the Western Ghats in the background. We visited the dam during noon, hence not able to explore more due to hot climate. There is a well maintained garden as well as rope way. There is entry fee. Best time to visit is evening.

It's a really awesome trip to Malambuzha Dam. First complete the Ropeway. It's completely outside the Dam premises. Then visit inside the dam and garden. Sufficient parking spaces available.

Malampuzha gardens, located in the lower hills of the Western Ghats, are the only rock-cut gardens in South India. It is the perfect place for a picnic with your family and friends. The dam boasts of being the largest reservoir in kerala. There are amusement parks and beautiful gardens that lie in close proximity to Malampuzha Dam. Boating in the serene lake is another major tourist attraction here. Visitors can see  the famous rock garden, snake park, the fish-shaped aquarium and enjoy a ride on the ropeway that gives a pleasant view of the park. One of the major attractions of this place is a huge sculpture of Yakshi, created by the fanous sculptor Kanai Kunhiraman.

Such a Beautifully maintained place. It's inclusive for all, no matter what the age is. Gorgeous Flower Gardens, Ropeway, the sculpture of YAKSHI and many more are things that make this place worth visiting for. In the end, the Dam itself stands out in its own Glory. Worth all the efforts taken to visit the place.
