About 13 km away from Ooty, on the Ooty-Mysore Road, Kalhatty Waterfalls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls that you will see on an Ooty Tour. This waterfall can be reached via a trek of 2 mile from Kalahatti village. It is believed that great Hindu saint Agastya has once lived here. With its rich avian fauna, it is often visited by bird watchers as well. Its scenic beauty is sure to leave you spellbound.

Road closed from ooty because of dangerous downhill road. If you visit mudumalai via mysore road, u can come back via masinagudi then you can watch this view point. If are new driver, pls avoid driving through this road.

I strongly recommend to visit the place post 3/4 PM as you can see the high amount of mist and the air would be so breezy and for sure you would enjoy

Beautiful water falls, where only locals can drive to this place. The approach is filthy and need maintenance. Its very spooky after 5pm. Watch for snakes when you walk to the spot.

Everyone says it is a beautiful place. But this waterfall is closed. The government has closed the access there. The reason is that some of them were suicidal there. Trespassing is illegal

From ooty one can reach Mudumalai via Kalhatty getting diverted at Thala Kundha. It is a step Ghat road where one need an experience to drive downhill and uphill. You have a checkpost in Kalhatty and the falls is walkable distance from this point. Most of the time the falls is closed and tourist are not allowed as life risk is More and many death have occured there. Kindly ensure from locals at ooty or Thala Kundha whether tourist allowed. one can enquire with Police or Forest Officials too. Herd of Bison and Elephants are spotted on the top of the grazing land hills at late evening as there is a natural water trough on the top where in water logging help animals for drinking after grazing...
