Nice out the way hiking trails. It has a streams and over 300 acres of land. The Center, located in the foothills of the Highlands, boasts an environmental learning center, tree-top level observation deck, bookstore, and exhibits. They have a bird-feeding station next to the building and is a popular attraction for birds and bird-watchers, and can be viewed in comfort from the inside of the building. We Volunteered to help control the Japanize Junipers that are very invasive. The includes one of the staff at the Sanctuary.

few people hike here great place for a river walk we take our dogs and they love the hike it can be a one hour loop through Cross Estate or there are short cuts trail map does not show all trails dogs should be on leash and if they're not, watch out for Rangers up at Cross Estate parking lot Audubon officially doesn't allow dogs, but so long as dogs (and their owners) are well-behaved. ..seems to not be an issue happy trails!

Wonderful birding place with nice trails. The trail markings could be better but all in all was great.

We visited on a Thursday but the main building was closed. Nearby trails looked neglected. I was really looking but didn't see any signs of life except a few Robin's. Bird feeders were deserted, and no feed in them. Not sure if this place is regularly staffed or is open only during specific events. Disappointed.

Great facility with a wonderful purpose. We just joined last week and attended our 1st educational event yesterday, and were very impressed with the knowledge their naturalist, Dorothy, shared with us.

What a great place to walk, to do stream study, to see the bees in the wildflowers. Great facility and classroom programs. And a great store.

Did not go to the trails so I can't comment on that, but I did check out a photo exhibit in their gallery which was cool and I was able to speak with the photographer (nice guy). The observatory was closed unfortunately (not sure why). The gift shop was cute, and had two turtles and a snake. The woman in the gift shop seemed really uncomfortable with my presence though and didn't respond when I said hello. She also avoided eye contact with me. 😐 Ed however did tell me a bit about the bears that occasionally visit so that was nice of him.

An amazing bird sanctuary tucked away in north jersey, definitely worth the trip to check out so many exotic birds especially if you’re a bird watcher, there is plenty of parking and nice trails if you want to go hiking on some easy trails
