    It's the Swiss van Indonesia, not only van Sumatera. Beautiful lake, great and greeny environment. It has 50K cool loop track of hillies and downs for bike, with of course a great lakeview just at the edge of the lake all the way. Masya Allah!

    The lake is very wide and beautiful. it takes 2 hours to go around it. Lots of instagrammable photo spots.

    One of the most iconic lakes in Indonesia, especially Aceh. This lake together with surrounding landscapes give us an immensely beautiful scenery. The pure stand of Merkus pine trees on it's surroundings can't be found elsewhere in Indonesia. Nearby, there is a city called Takengon, or 'the cold city', where you can find warm-hearted Gayo people and their delicious coffee. This city is a very suitable place to have a trips located just aside of Lake Laut Tawar. Also, don't forget to buy avocado, pinneaples, and passion fruit and you can enjoy it during the trip to many areas surrounding the lake.

    One of the epic places that must be visited if you are in Takengon. You can go around the lake by renting a boat, I swear you won't regret this choice. The view of the lake is very beautiful for me who rarely sees nature. Like, is very very green and bless my eyes. Was a great experience.
