Visiting the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe was an unforgettable experience. Parking was easy, and access to see the image of Our Lady on Saint Juan Diego’s tilma was seamless. The atmosphere was peaceful and deeply moving, with a sense of reverence throughout the entire site. Whether you’re visiting for faith, history, or culture, this is a must-see destination. This is beautiful and peaceful. This was my first visit to Mexico City, and I knew I couldn't miss this visit. We went on a Saturday in October, around 11am. It wasn't crowded, but a decent attendance. There's several chapels and temples in it's surrounding. Personally, I didn't really take an interest to the new basilica. The design doesn't fit with it's surrounding architecture and lacks character. However, that is where the original portrait of Our Lady of Guadalupe is housed. The old basilica is a sight in itself, and from what I can tell, it appeared to be the most affected in regards to sinking. The basilica has noticeable cracks and the steps are significantly slanted. I would caution anyone with vertigo. I was dizzy after only a few minutes inside. The surrounding area has other great chapels and temples that you should definitely visit. Each one has it's own history and the views are stunning. The floor is cobblestone in some sections, and there's various areas that are popular for pictures with photographers on-site at an affordable price. There's several vendors outdoors, and if you want to get anything blessed, they have several blessings throughout the day (located to the left side of the New Basilica, towards the back). I am a fan of tours, but I don't know if I would take a tour here. I feel like it may take away from the serene experience that you can only accomplish by being in your state of mind and appreciating and reading in silence. If you need flowers, there's also several vendors as you get closer to the basilica -- all with affordable prices. We spent roughly 2 hours, but I think we needed more time. I think this can easily be 4 hours to tour everything on the grounds. I will definitely visit again in the future.

We visited the basilica on a group tour and it was absolutely worth the hype! There are also meant other small churches in the same area, as well as a market behind the basilica. Ohh and you're able to get yourself and some items blessed with holy water by a priest. ☺️

Easy access from Mexico City airport. Beautiful shrine. Mass happens at every hour in the main basilica. You can find the tilma that St. Juan Diego owned and had the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe miraculously in the basilica behind the main altar. A must visit!!

A bit confusing at first a newer cathedral with the historic one in the rear. The relic was amazing to see and witness the priest bless the people in a mass group was interesting. The grounds are large and theirs lots of walking and stairs to get to around. We had a phone stolen at this place which was crappy considering it’s a church but I guess it is what it is. Be vigilant at all times. Tip… purchase your rosaries outside to get them blessed it’s much cheaper.

The Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe is one of the most significant religious sites in the world, attracting millions of pilgrims each year. Located in Mexico City, this sacred shrine is dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patron saint of Mexico. The modern basilica, built in 1976, features a striking circular design, ensuring that visitors have a clear view of the revered Tilma of Juan Diego, which bears the miraculous image of the Virgin Mary. The site also includes the Old Basilica, a stunning Baroque-style church from the 18th century. Whether for spiritual devotion or historical appreciation, the basilica offers a deeply moving and unforgettable experience for all who visit.
