Joanne was an exceptional host. She helped us with everything literally. We felt right at home. She was welcoming and made our stay really special and memorable. We came for the yoga and dive retreat. The room was spacious and clean. It was equipped with everything we might need. It had a little kitchenette and all utensils and kitchen essentials. The diving experience with Orlando was truly amazing. He’s such a patient teacher and I felt confidant learning and exploring because he was confident. Yoga was timed perfectly - wish I had the chance to do more classes. I absolutely loved practicing Iyengar with Eugine. Her classes are hands down the best yoga classes I’ve ever had through my journey. Yin yoga with Joanne was relaxing. Her general presence was soothing. Highly recommended experience

A wonderful retreat. The yoga was great with multiple teachers who really challenged my practice and I learned a lot. The setting of the classes is amazing. The rooms are top notch for a retreat and very comfortable. The scuba center is in the same building and easy to engage with. The instructors are great and led us on a lot of dives and were very knowledgeable. Joanna is a great host and loved the morning beach meditation walks. Can’t say enough about this place.

My dive and yoga retreat at Tribal Tulum was everything I could have asked for and more. Living below the beautiful yoga studio and above the dive shop was so convenient and perfect for my first solo adventure. My loft was immaculately clean and comfortable- perfect for the relaxing, peaceful stay I wanted. I loved my yoga classes with wonderful instructors (Maya, Eugenia, Blanca, and Joanne) that helped me improve my practice and explore new styles. Joanne was incredibly kind, caring, and responsive from my first email reaching out and throughout my entire stay. You can tell everything at Tribal was cultivated and nurtured with loving intention. I will cherish my time spent there and highly recommend to all.

Absolutely gorgeous! I had a fantastic mini 4-day yoga retreat here. The owner and host Joanne has a heart of gold, she really goes above and beyond to make sure her guests have a comfortable stay. The accommodations are spacious, well equipped, and well kept. And the 2 class/day schedule offers a variety of yoga styles, so it's a nice opportunity to go beyond the standard power yoga that you'll find most anywhere. Already dreaming of coming back ;)

Tribal Tulum was superb. The yoga was amazing and I learned so much to improve my practice. Instructors were masters from all over and each class was different. The lodging/room was extremely clean with personal touches that made it unique. The host/yogi was wonderful and I would highly recommend Tribal Tulum to anyone interested in a yoga retreat experience.

"A wonderful and unique Yoga and SCUBA retreat" Tribal Tulum gets 5 stars from me. Joanne was extremely responsive from my first inquiry and built a custom program allowing me to maximise my yoga and diving. The accommodation is spacious, clean, well appointed and very comfortable. The kitchenette is great and allows you to eat in if you want - although there are an ample supply of great restaurants for every budget within a short walk of Tribal. Breakfast was freshly prepared each day and was varied and delicious. Joanne is a marvelous host and nothing is too much trouble. I joined her most mornings for her sunrise beach mediation (not to be missed if you love stunning sunrises above a beautiful blue ocean) She also was great at recommending different things to do in and around Tulum. If you get a chance do a Mayan Temple Tour and a Temazcal. The yoga studio is a very calming space and the Teachers she has assembled (along with herself) are passionate professionals who will work with you to get the most from your practice whatever that might be …. And on New Years Eve we had just the best Chakra focussed Sound Bath. The Diving is outstanding. Alex and Orlando were great Instructors and took me to an amazing array of Cenotes from majestic cathedrals of stalagmites and stalactites, to The Pit a 115 foot multilevel dive featuring great halocline and hydrogen sulfide layers and just about everything in between. I did 10 dives everyone different, including two ocean dives with some amazing swim throughs. There was nothing about Tribal Tulum that I did not like. It was a perfect balance of yoga, meditation, diving, and culture. I highly recommend Tribal Tulum. I had read it was noisy but I did not find it noisy at all - yes it is by the main road to the beach and that does get some traffic but it was never excessively noisy and the convenience of the location far outweighed the fact it was by the road. You even get a bike for your stay to enable you to get around.

Tribal Tulum is an experience not to be missed. The combo of diving and yoga compliment and balance each other. Each morning before our dives, we were treated to delicious and comfortable breakfasts, from avocado toast, locally made banana bread and the best tamales I've had in my life. The opportunity to learn diving in the cenotes is a gift. Our instructor, Orlando, welcomed us, showed great patience and took us on an unforgettable adventure around Tulum. We left with a new passion that will be with us for life. The Yoga practice was the perfect match to the diving. Intense and technical, yet restoring and relaxing. The studio sits atop the building, overlooking the Tulum jungle. The practices at sunset were unbeatable. We could not be more thankful to our host Joanne. Welcoming us into her space, guiding us around Tulum, creating such an amazing experience. The apartment is ideally located in the middle of Tulum, has everything need to set up a basecamp to experience and explore, yourself and the area. There is no doubt that we will be returning.

We had a gorgeous stay in Tribal in July. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed including drinking water and fresh bath towels and beach towels. Our hosts were excellent and made us feel very welcome! They had great recommendations for sight seeing and the best places to eat and drink in Tulum. The yoga studio was very spacious and there is also access to the roof for sunbathing and relaxing!

My girlfriend and I took 3 lessons on our vacation and although we are complete beginners, the lessons were totally fun and enriched our vacation. With different teachers teaching every day, we got to practice different styles, which definitely enhanced the experience. All in all, yoga and in our experience especially Tribal Tulum is highly recommended for anyone who wants to really switch off on vacation and at the same time balance themselves physically.

The owner is super awesome. She helped us with getting a dive that met our needs but also gave us tips and tricks for travelling in tulum for cheap and environmentally conscious. The entire staff is super friendly and our guide Alex made sure us baby divers were ok and comfortable.

I'm a long term resident of Tulum. I've also practiced yoga for over 20 years. Tribal is by far my favourite place to practice and Joanne is one of the best instructors I've met. Her studio is beautiful. Joanne has decorated it with her heart and she makes everyone who goes feel so welcomed. The studio has everything you can imagine for props including ropes on the walls. It's always very clean and because it's indoors it's not effected by rain or wind. I look forward to going every week. If you are in Tulum I highly recommend Tribal it's a very special place.
