Dolphin Discovery Cozumel

Tourist attraction Aquarium Amusement park ride

👍 This was one of the best excursions we did. Bottom line up front, Take PLENTY of money for the photos if you want any cause you can't take your own and the photo packages are a bit pricey. 40Usd for 1 photo...😬 for all digital prints it was around 400usd If you're looking for a very memorable thing... People often mention experience, photos, dolphin, time, dolphins, swim, package, pictures, worth, family,

This was one of the best excursions we did. Bottom line up front, Take PLENTY of money for the photos if you want any cause you can't take your own and the photo packages are a bit pricey. 40Usd for 1 photo...😬 for all digital prints it was around 400usd If you're looking for a very memorable thing to do this is it! Our family did the dolphin and manatee swim. It was an awesome experience we got to learn about both animals and even some cool facts we didn't know before. Like manatees have fingernails? It's true! The restaurant that was apart of the all inclusive package was very nice they had a good selection of food and the drinks were delicious. If you get the opportunity find the gentleman and his wife that hand paint the cups and make a fresh drink (fresh fruit with tequila) down by the tequila museum. Worth 20usd for 2 drinks.🥴🥳

My wife and I came here a few years ago for our anniversary. We were told by some friends that we had to check this place our. At the time the dolphin instructor were great with the dolphins and instructions. The facility and locker offered plenty of space but you do have to pay for lockers. Also, you do have to pay for the pictures with the dolphins and it was expensive but the wife wanted it for memories. Recommend

Could not recommend. Booked this excursion with our cruise line, paid about $500 for a family of 5 for the dolphin experience, to get in a small, murky inlet with the dolphins. You aren't allowed to bring any cameras and they hassle you to do the photo packages, which we did, for a family of 5 was about $250 (they charge per person). Then one member of our party didn't even get in any of the photos. Tried to explain to the trainer that one of our party didn't get to do the pictures with the dolphins per the package and he said, "no, that's extra" and couldn't communicate our issue so that member didn't get pictures. We did the package deal with watered down drinks and one beer choice. The buffet was chips with watery cheese and jello. The kids were starving. To top it off, the photos are accessed by hanging on to your receipt and going to the website to download and hope they got your email entered correctly. Oh and they hassle you in the shops while waiting for the tour bus to return, don't tell them your name or they'll sew it into a $20 bracelet.

The dolphins and manatees experience was AMAZING! They are so smart and well trained. Our dolphins name was Elena and she did a great job! Tequila tasting was good, we tried all the varieties and were offered to get a bottle home. Show with seals was entertaining and fun, at the end of it you can take a picture with a seal kissing you on the cheek :) However, the package we bought was supposed to be all inclusive for restaurants and bars with alcohol. Turned out we could only get beer and watery drinks. And there was no access to the restaurant only buffet on the other side of the place. The worst part of the place was insane price for the photos. 100 photos for $250, transferred to you through airdrop or Bluetooth.. they’re not even printed. It’s not reasonable at all. It’s great for one time experience, but I wouldn’t come back again.

Our entire experience from beginning to end was perfect! It's rare that you come across a place that checks ALL the boxes. We ran into a couple of issues with booking (our fault), and Barbara went out of her way to make sure we got the package we wanted. These days, it's uncommon to receive such top-notch customer service. They did a wonderful job communicating to large groups of people and moving them to where they needed to be. The bathrooms/locker storage areas were clean and easy to find. The dolphin/manatee experience itself was beyond what I was expecting. It is something that our family will never forget. The trainer was very informative and patient with my young kiddos, which made it more enjoyable for me, too! I noticed some reviews said that the pictures they take were not worth the money. I completely disagree. Initially, I had sticker shock with the pricing, but EVERY picture we received was great and captured the magic of the moment. It was worth every penny! My only regret is that I did not make more time to snorkel and use the beach club at Chankanaab - it is stunning.

We booked our excursion through Groupon back home a couple months in advance and saved a bunch of Money on our VIP tour. We arrived at the location about an hour early was $12 cab ride for 4 persons from our cruise ship & was pretty close. Once we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly staff they had changing rooms lockers & unlimited Buffet & Drinks although drinks are watered down. The entire complex is amazing so much to do & see here we didn’t realize everything was included. Our family had over an hour interaction with the Dolphins them swam with the Manatees after that we seen the free Sea lion Show. We wound up spending our whole day here. We highly recommend the Dolphin Discovery Cozumel company a few years back we did use another dolphin company in Cozumel but it wasn’t nearly as nice as this place.

Please do not contribute! Those animals are in such a small place with no “freedom” at all. A few days ago I have been talking about Cuba and how awful is the dolphin experience there BUT this place is even worse!

This was my first time trying anything like this. It was my birthday cruise so I said why not. We got the excursion pre cruise. The tour guides were great, and things moved pretty fast. It was an awesome experience. Connecting with dolphin and the manatees in their element was something memorable.

OMG this was such an amazing place and swimming with our dolphin & Manatee was so much better than I ever thought! The trainers were very attentive and we got to spend a lot of time with the animals. The photos were expensive but they are so worth it. Highly, highly recommend!!! I cannot wait to go back with my grandchildren!! I love this place!!

Great dolphin interaction and away from the cruise terminal. The Royal Swim Package is the way to go. Water is warm and the staff and trainers are great with the animals and entertainment. No pics or videos allowed so be prepared for $70 per person photography BUT you get A LOT of pictures to download right to your cell phone. It was worth it and taxi fee is also given back to hotel so makes it worth the $70 pp. good time!

This was a wonderful cruise excursion! I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cozumel. The hubs and I decided to swim with the dolphins which is AMAZING! You're in small groups so there's plenty of time to enjoy them. Naturally, there's time for photo opportunities too. The staff takes all the photos and you can select one of the photo packages after you're done. Definitely would experience this again.

Cozumel. Just got back from our first cruise ever. You are taken FAR out to make sure no one can see or take any photos. The photos are EXTREME priced at 160.00 PER PERSON OR 40.00 Per Photo. They also hover over your shoulder while looking at the photos on the computer, to make sure no one is taking a picture of the photos. The Dolphin managed to get the locker key out of my pocket and to the bottom of the Dolphin area. One minute I was told "well, one of our workers will go down, and see if he can retrieve it." A minute later "You will have to pay for losing it". They had SECURITY follow me around to pay a 5.00 key charge. We also purchased the Royal VIP which included food, sea lions, snorkeling ... They told us when we arrived that the restaurants close at 3:30 and we would not get to eat, nor did we get to do sea lions or snorkeling and they almost caused us to miss the boat back because of this nonsense. We had to RUN down the port and got back as they were pulling the stairs in. The Dolphin Experience was fantastic. The photos, employees, customer service ... Some of the worst I've ever seen. Maybe try the one in Costa Maya or somewhere else.

Lot of fun to swim with the Dolphins but they charged us a hundred dollars just to take videos of my wife being pushed by the dolphins. She had promised her pre-school class she would bring back some pictures, so we kinda of had to do it.

Do yourself and your family a favor and go check out Dolphin Discovery in Cozumel! This was one of the best experiences of our lives, getting to interact with such amazing sea creatures. The staff were super kind and instructive and I felt safe throughout the whole experience. I'll never forget holding a dolphin for the first time in my hands and swimming with them !! The Island is beautiful with plenty of activities to choose from as well. Please go experience this for yourself when you get the chance !! God Bless :D

GREAT EXPERIENCE! Dolphins are treated with the utmost respect. Trainers are extremely knowledgeable. Well worth the price. Pics are a little pricey but it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to swim with dolphins. Kids loved it. Very family friendly.

It was an awesome experience to connect with nature. I have always wanted to experience this and finally did. Even though I cannot swim, they have a lifeguard who will come out and assist you to the middle to experience the activities with the dolphin. When you get there, they offer a picture package which is 15 photos p/p in your party and a free session with the manatee and your taxi ride back to the pier. There is a buffet (unlimited food and drink alcohol and non). Then they have swimming pools to enjoy and a sea lion show. I would definitely do this excursion again.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! We got the VIP dolphin package and it was so worth it! Pepe our guide was so awesome and very helpful. He made sure we made it to the park safely and then back to the port safely!! Manny the dolphin trainer and Aitana were the best part about this whole experience! Manny was so helpful, made sure we were safe, he made sure we had fun and I LOVE Aitana!! She’s a queen! It was my first dolphin experience and she was such a kind and gentle dolphin but so so talented!! You can tell her and Manny (her trainer) have a great relationship. Ricky was our photographer and he captured some amazing photos!! We don’t drink but the open bar was a nice touch and the restaurant and buffet were also nice!! If you’re thinking about booking a dolphin experience or excursion here just do it! You get to even swim with manatees which I was so excited about because I love manatees. We also stayed on the property and swam in the ocean and snorkeled (we brought our own snorkels but I’m sure you could rent some if you wanted) THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT DOLPHIN DISCOVERY 🐬💙🩵 We loved our time so much so that we are planning another trip to go back!

Very misleading. We purchased tickets as we got off of the ship from one of the groups, they said the package we purchased was the top package and both of my kids under 5 were included. We were told the package included food, riding on dolphins etc but apparently we only got to “meet and greet” the dolphins and purchase pictures. The people selling the photos were also rude, only very few people were nice at this entire area. Groups are divided by languages spoken however we were thrown into a group that spoke Spanish since the others were full. Living in Orlando I could have done a better experience at Discovery Cove for around the same price after considering everything. It’s more about the money than the guest experience here.

Push, Pull, Swim is a must!! Interactive experience with a lot of time in the water with these amazing animals. Highly Recommend⭐️ Save time for the Sea Lion show and walk along the beach!

I didn’t want to go. The girlfriend has this on her bucket list though. Wow am I glad we went! I was stunned and had so much fun! Seriously everyone should go enjoy this at least once in their life!

The tickets are pricey, but for a full day of meals and things to do worth it if you book 3 days in advance on their website. I do not recommend buying their photo packages if you are with an infant or child 5 yrs old or less. Let them take pictures of you and sell you them at the end maybe? Of the 42 pics I got, maybe 3 were good enough to purchase.

We were able to enjoy an excursion through the Carnival Valor cruise ship. We had an amazing time swimming with dolphins and manatees. We loved the stunning water, knowledgeable and kind biologists, and fun atmosphere. We would highly recommend this experience. The sea lion show is also an added bonus. All the animals and beautiful views made for an excellent time. Our tour guide Diego was wonderful as well.

While spending the day at Chankanaab park, my wife and son decided to do the Dolphin Discovery swim and they had an absolutely phenomenal time doing this! The good thing about their time is they were the only ones who chose to swim with the dolphins as the others just chose the experience so they had the dolphin & trainer to themselves for over an hour. Their dolphin was a 3 year old male and was SOOOO smart but very funny, just like a typical teenager. My wife said their trainer (forget her name) was exceptional, VERY professional and cared extensively for her dolphin. I highly recommend you elect to swim with the dolphin as he lets you hold on for a ride, pushes you on a boogie board, gives you kisses, shakes your hand and let’s you pet him. If you spend the extra money for the dolphin swim then it’s a must to buy the professional photos they take for you. Wait until the end of swim so you can see the photos before you purchase. This entire event was rewarding for the entire family and I highly recommend for everyone, especially families!

I didn't know what to expect coming in, but had read some reviews about it. Heard that the iron bridge where you stand is full of algae and slippery. I went to get water shoes but understood why when I got in with the dolphins. Everyone is friendly and we had a small group so we had more time with the dolphins. We had 2 females and was just a dream come true. The trainer teaches you 5 hand gestures to work with the dolphins. You swim with them and they push you by the bottom of your feet, so no shoes. It was a wonderful experience and would do it again. The pictures aren't bad for two people, it was myself and my husband, but they are worth it to remember the experience.

Extreme tourist trap. I'm glad we got to experience the dolphins and manatees but the photo sales people are ridiculous. We actually had to return 3 days later to have our codes reactivated to download our pictures. The cost for photos is astronomical and to have to return in order to receive thise photos? Unacceptable. We were promised individual pics with the sea lion as well as the manatees included in our package and when it came time to actually get the photos, we were only offered the group photo with the sea lion and no manatee photos were included. We spent nearly $600 on pictures thinking all of that was included when we were basically told, "I'm sorry, that's not what we meant." Cool experience overall but will never do it again.
