Pyramid of the Niches is the most important structure at the city of El Tajin and a popular spot for photos for instagrammers and you Tubers. The pyramid itself is a fairly short walk from the entrance and is clearly visible if you follow the prescribed path. It is a wonderful structure even though much smaller than many other famous pyramids in Mexico. One star is taken away because the entire pyramid complex is roped off and you cant even walk behind the pyramid, nevermind climb it. Total bummer.

The Pyramid of the Niches is located in the archaeological zone in El Tajín, and in the area of Veracruz Norte, Mexico and is part of the Totonaca culture. Take in the more then a 1000 year old structures and Pyramids co-exist with nature on a beautiful sunny day. Learn about the dark history through rituals and aligning with the conquistadors. Visit some of the vendors for a near by village and grab some fresh local vanilla.

What a unique structure! You can't climb up it, which was the only disappointment.

(Translated by Google) Incredible place. Abandoned by its occupants more than 800 years ago. It reveals a lot of information and the hope that humanity will overcome the current adversities. It is highly recommended to visit this place about which not even half of what is hidden under the thick vegetation is known. If you can, bring a student, professor, teacher, senior card. Free admission on Sundays. Every hour they make an exhibition of the papantla flyers (cost $30) (Original) Increíble lugar.

(Translated by Google) Cool place, but I recommend arriving at 9:00, that is, for the opening. The climate is sooo hot and by 11:30 in the afternoon it is impossible to breathe. Free entry for pensioners with passport (Original)

Impressive pyramid, the only one with niches

Amazing and ŵorthwhile visit. Several park attendants preoccupied on phones and appeared not to be bothered with questions. The temple with paintings was off limits. Still, it's definitely a worthwhile stop. The museum was closed, which was a real bummer.

(Translated by Google) The place is very nice but yes, you have to wear a hat or cap because of the sun and also go with comfortable clothes (Original) Muy bonito el lugar pero eso si, tienes que llevar sombrero o gorra por el sol y también ir con ropa cómoda
