Colorado beer dude finds home. I’m moving here. Please pardon my closet and personal items as you find a seat on the patio. Beer? Oh right. Smooth, delicious and well rounded options for everyone! Chilled craft beer on a hot afternoon — look no further. Please give them a chance! Excellent and friendly service goes a long way!! Could not have be happier to spend 2 hours watching the cenote birds make their rounds. I recommend the seat next to the water…

Wonderful craft brewery on Calle 38! The beer is typical of American craft beer and that’s a good thing. The Kolsch is refreshing. The APA is perfectly bitter. The Porter is roasty & finishes smooth. Excellent guacamole as well. 2 pints, 4 cans to go, & guac and chips was only around $40 USD after gratuity. Incredible value!

Nice beer bar in the middle of a busy area in PDC. The drafts were somewhat limited, but everything was tasty. Their outdoor seating area is very pretty! We also ordered some cocktails, which took a while since there is only one bartender, but they were very good. Would come back again!

Fun festive environment on the patio, great beers especially the Kolsch and the APA. Pork and shrimp tacos are delicious. The churros was great too!

Ran by the "craft beer" sign in the morning, and came back in the afternoon to check the place out. Owner was super friendly and the hazy IPA was a tasty addition to my Untappd profile. Husband had Kolsch which he also enjoyed. Happy Hour applies to a few beers (there's a sign) and you get 40 pesos off. Hazy not included, but $115 for a pint is really a good price for quality beer. I also had the Session IPA, but the hazy was better, IMO. My husband is a dive instructor and loved the pulpo and tortuga artwork. Amazing! Can't wait to go back and try the food.

Cracking little place off the main street. We tried the beer flight and all four beers were delicious. The guacamole with tortilla chips was also lovely! What other bar can say it sits on a cenote? Will definitely be back again before we leave for home.

Local brewery with a good variety of beer. If you don't know what to order you can ask for a recommendation or ask for the tasting format (4 small glasses to try different types). The place is located in a very nice area. The only negative point (which is not under the establishment's control) is that the hot weather heats up the beer very fast and you end up drinking the chela at room temperature. I think it's better to buy the beer to go and drink it cold in the comfort of your own home.

Chela de Playa was an absolute delight! I'll preface by stating that my friends and I all enjoy craft beer, and found this location based on craft brewery searches. Not only was the beer very good, but the tacos were an absolute hit! In fact, even if you're not really into beer - definitely come and try the tacos! Traditional styles of meats and awesome (and spicy! sauces). Good variety. Extremely flavorful. If we had the opportunity during our visit, we all agreed we would come back again. Other nice touches were the murals on the walls, and the general "quiet" and shade on the street (little vehicle traffic, mostly pedestrian). And needless to say, next time I'm in the area, I will definitely be making it a point to enjoy some beers and tacos here.

Good food, tasty beers and a great location make this a solid choice for eating and drinking in Playa. We started with the fried cauliflower which was really good. Then got a beef torta and cauliflower tacos. Both were good size and tasty. They do have an excellent pineapple habanero dipping sauce which was great in everything. The kolsch and white IPA was also really nice. My rating: 9/10.

What a cute spot. Inside and outdoor seating lots of variety in seats. Local craft beer and they offer beer flights. So you get a chance to taste them all. Staff were friendly and attentive. Clean, cute and did I tell you there is a small cenote just beside the seating area. Great spot, I’ll go again.

First nachos we’ve had in Mexico and they were a hit. Great portion size and great beer. We added meat to the nachos wish was 150 pesos in total. Happy hour between 12-4.

Loved this place! Great beers and tasty tacos! I got to sample 6 beers (loved the Porter!) and my husband tried the IPAs (he liked Session IPA better than White IPA). Shrimp tacos and cauliflower tacos go perfectly with a beer night. And location is awesome! Quieter (off of 5ta avenida), great music, greenery and lighting.

nice brewpub, a bit sideways located from the main Street so pretty chilled. they offer 6 way tasters with a glas of water which comes quite handy ^ all the beers are super solid but not like mind blowing. the sandwich was really good too. you can watch down a cenote while chilling too : )

I love this place. The atmosphere and jungle like setting are amazing. The staff is very attentive. I was in Playa for two weeks and visited this place at least every other day of my stay. I love their IPA, and their mixed drinks are also very delicious. I've been visiting this place for the past 4 years and at least twice a year.

Top notch beer on my favourite street in Playa del Carmen. Highly recommend the APA. Happy hour offers two for one beers. Exceptional service and a really cool cenote with turtles to enjoy while drinking on the patio. Awesome place!

Chela de Playa is nice local beer bar with a micro brewery close by, in the bar there are multiple of their own brews available on tap which are served by friendly bartenders. It is a bit difficult to find, look for the 'Local Craft Beer' sign when you are close to the location.

Oh my god, the street where Chela de Playa is located on is amazing! It's like walking from the city straight into the jungle. Please go see it! Nonetheless, Chela de Playa is wonderful, a great place for craft beer and a lovely vibe all-around!

We loved this place, one of the only local spots for craft beer. Small menu with authentic Mexican, including multiple vegetarian options. Plenty of beer selection, along with tequila and mezcal. Docking a star because service was slow and not eager to help.

Brilliant drinks, food and atmosphere. The best bar we found in the area by far and the staff were super lovely & helpful too! Really wish we were staying locally so we could have gone more!

My man and I’s new favorite spot. HANDS DOWN! The ambiance itself with the natural greenery of the jungle makes for the perfect outdoor spot when it’s sunny. Rain? No problem! Plenty of seating inside. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Amazing menu to pair with your beers, which are the stars of the show for sure. We will 11/10 be coming here again whenever we visit PDC!😍🤍 🍻
