I
arrived
at
Baptist
Health
S
Miami
Hospital
to
have
one
of
the
worse
experiences
of
my
life
and
more
so
in
an
Emergency
Room.
I
arrived
with
Workers
Compensation
paperwork
and
handed
to
the
receptionist
at
registration
and
he
handed
back
to
me
and
told
me
to
hold
onto
it
and
give
it
to
the
doctor.
I
registered
and
when
my
vitals
were
taken
I
was
told
that
they
were
overwhelmed
with
patients
and
it
would
be
awhile
before
I
would
be
seen.
Mind
you
there
were
only
4
patients
in
the
waiting
room
at
that
time
waiting
to
be
seen.
I
waited
patiently
for
my
turn
while
suffering
in
pain.
When
I
was
called
in
and
taken
to
my
room
I
was
told
the
nurse
would
be
in
soon.
I
could
clearly
hear
them
playing
and
joking
around
at
the
nurses
desk
and
after
waiting
for
awhile
the
nurse
finally
shows
up
and
tells
me
she
wasn’t
aware
I
was
there
so
much
for
her
showing
up
immediately
after
I
was
placed
in
the
room.
When
the
assistant
came
in
to
start
an
IV
I
told
him
that
my
veins
are
tricky,
well
without
saying
he
missed
my
vein
and
had
to
switch
arms.
After
I
was
examine
by
the
Nurse
Practitioner,
I
handed
her
my
worker’s
compensation
paperwork,
she
immediately
said
“We
don’t
fill
those
out
here”
that
I
would
have
to
take
it
to
the
referral
doctor
she
listed
on
my
discharge
papers.
I
told
her
if
the
hospital
does
not
complete
the
paperwork
they
cannot
get
paid
and
I
show
her
that
I
was
there
at
an
earlier
date
and
yes,
the
treating
physician
completed
the
paperwork
with
no
problem.
I
requested
to
see
the
floor
manager
and
she
stormed
out
of
the
room
and
minutes
later
an
assistant
manager
showed
up
and
he
immediately
informed
me
that
he
had
to
call
his
boss
and
wake
her
up
to
make
sure
that
the
Information
he
was
about
to
give
me
was
correct.
I
guess
they
had
a
consensus
between
them
and
he
told
me
that
the
nurse
practitioner
was
correct
and
that
yes
he
was
aware
that
a
prior
ER
Physician
completed
the
paperwork.
I
told
him
that
was
very
upsetting
because
now
he
jeopardizes
my
case
with
workers
compensation
because
of
their
so
called
policy.
I
clearly
pointed
to
the
form
and
the
title
on
the
form
is
Treating
physician.
I
had
to
ask
him
who
just
treated
me?
I
understand
she
wasn’t
a
physician
by
title
but
a
nurse
practitioner
carriers
the
same
responsibility
and
requirement
of
a
doctor
when
treating
a
patient,
which
means
completing
the
necessary
papers
when
required
and
if
it’s
true
that
Baptist
Health
S
Miami
does
not
complete
workers
compensation
forms
than
they
should
clearly
state
that
at
registration
and
not
after
being
treated.
When
I
finally
gave
in
and
asked
the
assistant
manager
if
that
was
it
can
I
leave
now.
He
responded
yes
and
proceeded
to
escort
me
out
to
exit
the
building
by
foot.
I
thought
it
was
policy
that
patients
are
wheelchair
out
to
the
exit
for
safety
reasons,
after
all
I
was
in
severe
pain
walking.
So
much
for
patient
care
and
safety.
