Some classes are 40+ students with 2 teachers. I was a straight A student and I would have trouble concentrating in such an environment. Not to mention recess for lower elementary grades is 15 minutes! Try that with a student that needs to move around more and has focus issues. Let's not get into the unhealthful habits of tremendous amounts of candy, soda and junk food for any given event, holiday, birthday etc. And the vending machines which sell the same.

Dont get me wrong the education is great. But they are using non qualified personnel as substitute teachers. This needs to be corrected immediately! Our children's safety is priority! Parent/Substitute's background and credentials must be verified! Florida State Teacher qualifications are a must in The Education system. This school should not be exempt from those state qualifications.

This school is so bad. My 2 kids went there and they got bullied so much they came home crying because they were bullied and they do not care about my students education. Nautilus is so much better

Just started this year with my daughter in pre-K, she loves it and I love it too, great prgram and teachers!! I hope next years teachers are as good !

for my experience of mater beach academy was a amazing go for me i saw all my friend that used to live with me as a child. Making new friend was difficult but i made it. not passing 5th grade left me behind all my friend going to 6th grade but now i learned making new friend does not change the fact that staying in the same grade again means losing your old friend they will always be on you side

I am beyond grateful for the staff and teachers at Mater Beach Academy! This is an awesome school and I would definitely recommend to everyone. The staff are friendly and helpful! The teacher are great and easy to communicate through emails or on the remind app. My child has been attending this school from Kindergarten through the 3 grade... unfortunately I had to relocate and change schools. This school is safe, has friendly staff and has great teachers! They implementing safety features to the school to keep the children safe. Mater Beach is truly an awesome school! Thank you all for everything! We will miss everyone at Mater Beach. ❤❤❤

Unfortunately (and, perhaps, due to the pandemic), the class size and lack of individualized instruction became a problem. We love all the teachers and staff at Mater, and it was an extremely difficult for us to finally pull our child out and find alternate schooling options. My child was bored in class all day and the once weekly gifted pull out is a joke, really. I think if the classes were to be divided in an advanced class and regular class, more parents would keep their children in Mater and the test scores would improve drastically. The school has a great family feel and teachers are very sweet, but, unfortunately, the educational aspect was lacking. It was a wonderful option for preK-2nd grade, imho.

This is a long overdue message to all the staff and teachers of MBA, especially our lovely Pre-K teachers who are amazing. Although this year brought its challenges with Covid-19, MBA transitioned into online classes on a weekend's notice...wow!! The online classes for P-K were so much fun and the teachers put together an AMAZING online program. My daughter is ready for kindergarten and I am happy to know she can stay healthy at home. Thanks so much MBA, from a very grateful mom.
