The staff is very nice and polite, but the place looks absolutely nothing like what you see on photos. Rooms are dirty, swimming pool is nowhere to be found, the beer garden closes around 7pm due to no traffic (although when it is open, it's very nice). Dinner is a joke, it's frozen lasagna from the store heated up in an oven, which due to slowcooking is sometimes ready one or two hours later than it's supposed to be. The kitchen is dirty and throughout my stay I avoided using the fridge, which smells as if it hasn't been cleaned in months. Lots of shady people around and the neighborhood doesn't look too welcoming at night. Majority of people staying at the hostel aren't visitors or travelers, but people living there. Lockers cost money, but I'd rather pay the fee than have my stuff stolen. Again, the staff was nice, with the exception of one guy who refused to give me a blanket, asking me to wait for another staff member who didn't show up within the next three hours. I wish the place looked at least a bit like on the photos.

SO pleased that this place rates the rights of women over those of trans identified men in shared dorms. They recognise it’s not the right of these men to make every single girl feel uncomfortable and unsafe because they want to share their spaces. I understand the man was offered his own room, which is the most they could have done. Thank you for recognising that his rights are not more important than ours.

When something seems too good to be true… it usually is. I stayed in a single here and the room was tiny with little to no artwork and the only art in there was crooked. The bed was uncomfortable and when I was doing a self-check around the bed, I discovered multiple stains along the wall that looked like defecation. Despite being a no smoking establishment, the halls reeked of marijuana and cigarette smoke. The restrooms were also untidy. Checked out early as to avoid whatever… that was on the wall.

Worst hostel in area. Dirty, tiny and dated. Some Miami hostels have similar issues but at least they have great location going for them. This is no where near the beach. It’s on the last street on the other side of the island, so it’s literally as far away as possible to be from the swimming beach. So you’re suffering with no benefit. Room was tiny. Like could hardly move and luggage didn’t fit in the room level of tiny. There was 3 story bunks so someone is literally on the floor. It was a THRID the size of a normal hostel room, but with double the people. Literally suitcases in the halls because there was no space in the room (and no under bed storage, as that’s a bed). Exactly the type of people staying here as you’d expect for one of the cheapest most cramped hostel with 3-level bunks. I had stuff stolen. Someone moved my bedding and tried to take the middle bunk. I returned favor. There is no common area IN the hostel. There is an old half finished and uncovered deck with filthy wooden benches outside on the street with drunks walking past and sitting down. Is that the “beer garden”? lol. The “cafe” is either the fridge of expensive beer in reception, or totally non-existent. Either way, lol. Much nicer, cleaner, communal and better located hostels, but sadly i was last minute and others were booked out for the weekend. No wonder this wasn’t booked out. Glad I was only two nights. Will never go back.

The most horrible places I have been to. No breakfast nor dinner despite website promises. Don't believe the photos on the booking website. Towels are small and dirty. No hot water. Reception is making you feel stupid when you have any questions or arguments. They hardly speak English or pretend they don't understand. dirtyness is unbelievable in the rooms and bathrooms. Don't go near by if you want to have decent stay as they all say they work first day and not familiar with the information. My breakfast and dinner was included but the reception never said I have to especially book it in again. Just horrible. Making Miami look bad.

Absolute scam ! Place looks nothing like the pictures! Dirty and messy! They cancelled my booking without my knowledge and I only found that out once I arrived at 9pm ! Was basically left on the street on my own ! Staff weren’t helpful at all ! Kitchen area and rooms also very dirty from what I have seen. This hostel took my money and refused to refund me when they cancelled my booking ! Also a deposit that they ask for they keep it unless you go looking for it ! Absolute scam ! Wouldn’t wish on anyone to stay there !

The staff was receptive, housekeeping was very polite. The private room was clean however the closet had medical equipment inside on one half and the closet is not accessible with the bed arrangement. The key card didn't work despite being reset 5 times, we were locked out of our room everytime we left. Two times we came back our door was found open with no one there. The window in the room had several blinds missing. The window has a balcony outside of it that is not accessible from the bedroom but is accessible from the kitchen, and runs right outside the bedroom window. People walk across the balcony and stare at you while you lay in your bed. You have no privacy, the balcony stays open past dark and makes you feel very unsafe. Staff reported they would close off access to the balcony in 20 minutes at 630pm however it stayed open for another 6 hours. We hung up a sheet for some privacy but it wasn't long enough to cover the whole window...by early morning there were people on the balcony again, right outside of the window 🙄. The kitchen was supposed to be fully accessible for cooking however the stove doesn't have enough voltage to operate efficiently and trying to make coffee or cook was nearly impossible. The dinner apparently is always pasta but not enough to feed all the guests there. The breakfast is coffee and toast but the coffee was an eternity because of the inefficient stove. The people were nice however the cost of the private room was more than a hotel closer to the beach.

Criminals and Homeless When I was there one of the guests who seemed living there for long time approached me and started a friendly talking, after a few minutes he gave me bottle of water that was drugged and makes me headache and my legs became numb. I spend the next day in hospital. When I looked after the guy all people over there including the employee denied knowing the person(before the incident these people were laughing and giggling with the person). When I came back from the hospital the employee put my stuff out and checked me out without even asking me. I had to look for another place to stay at 11:00 pm and they still did not refund my deposit. I believe the are some people actually living there for long time and could do any harm to the guests and backing up each other if when they do that.

I spent one night at this hostel. The place was overall quite clean and the staff nice and accommodating. Unfortunately that night was pretty cold and didn't get a blanket, they gave me only linen. My 6 bedroom dorm was very loud, people have kept going in and out from the dorm all night long, the gate right outside the window has been slammed all night long. I couldn't sleep at all! I didn't have breakfast because the space was to tiny and could not accomodate more than 5-6 people. It's not worth the price I paid, way to high for this kind of place.

Don't come expecting the Ritz Carlton and you will be pleasantly surprised! After checking out a couple other hostels to stay in south beach for my extended business trip I settled on this one as it's only a 10 min walk or short free trolley ride to the beach but a lot more quiet and peaceful instead of the constant 24/7 commotion! Want to give a specific shout out to some of the front desk staff like Auri, JJ, Adrian, Flor and Sean who were always very nice and accomodating for anything I needed! Also attached is a cool little bar/restaurant to grab a bite or a drink and meet people from all corners all of this planet! 10/10 will stay here again!

This place needs to be banned immediately! They didn’t let me in but charged me a no show fee :) If I could give 0 stars to this place I would. I came on a freezing day and they told me this is only for international people. I always travel from Orlando to Miami and never heard such bizarre s*t in my life. Good luck searching international people :) You ain’t gonna make it in this world.

This is the WORST hostel I've ever stayed in. The rooms and bathrooms are dirty and my bedsheets have already been used. My friend didn't have a pillow because the guy in our room had hers. I would consider myself as a very adaptable and low maintenance kinda person but this hostel is an absolute nightmare. Please get yourself a nicer place to stay.

I enjoyed my stay here a lot. There is a beer garden nearby which was great for watching the World Cup finals. The women’s dorm is great. Good value overall and pretty clean. The staff id really chill. I enjoyed talking with. Shawn (:

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. The room smelled like mold and looked NOTHING like the pictures. The beds themselves were hazardous. Rusty and broken basically. Everything in the bathroom was clogged. Only good thing was the location and the staff was friendly. Other than that this place is sketchy and I can’t believe it’s a real hostel.

The Bikini Hostel should really only serve as a last resort to avoid having to sleep on the streets of Miami. In contrast to usual hostels, there are no young backpackers, no exuberant atmosphere and no parties awaiting you. It is much more a dump for dodgy people over 50 who appear homeless and hang around all day. Bathrooms that you share with 6 rooms of 32 people each are not cleaned every day, there is no toilet paper and the sink in the toilet at the reception was full of puke for days. I have stayed in many hostels, especially in South East Asia, but have never had such a bad experience.

one star is too much rating for this hotel that provides very bad service, the one that this hotel provides, we made a reservation on March 25th. When we arrived they told us that there was no availability when we had already made a reservation and they had not charged our credit card and today, being April 24, they have not returned the money that they charged us for a service that they did not provide us, I do not recommend Book and complain about this hotel for no reason. They are irresponsible abusive with clients. I would like to know if they are thinking of stealing the money from our reservation if that is what this hotel lives by stealing from clients but they are going to have legal news about me

***Beware: Don't be fool by the pictures probably taken 20 years ago, Old and dirty. Not a place to bring your love ones, you will be embarrassed once you open that hotel door. It's more like a very low budget motel. I should read Google reviews before I booked it with Priceline which they work with Booking. I didn't stay once I open the door and saw the condition of the room. Priceline refuse to refund me and the hotel charged me an additional $21 hotel fee even though I didn't stay. Please read the reviews before booking.

The rooms seemed to be only cleaned in visible spots, pieces of the frame and wall were broken, there was a definite infestation of german roaches which needs to be taken care of, and the private room we got was very confined so you are getting what you pay for in terms of cheapness. The staff were all very nice and the location was pretty good too. All in all only stay here if you dont care about slight inconveniences the frequent bug here and there and small spaces.

I do not recommend that you stay at this hotel, they are very abusive. How is it possible that I make a reservation through the booking page? When I arrive at the hotel reception and give my reservation number, they tell me that the reservation has already been sold, they do not allow me stay at the hotel but they do charge the value of the reservation from my account, how is it possible that they do not provide you with a service that I had already booked, they sell it to another person, but yes, they still charge you the value of that service, they are very abusive people, no I recommend you stay in this abusive hotel

Hostel where everything is really very cramped, the structure is old, dirty and the street is noisy. I booked with breakfast for 7 days and never had it because the room is very small, practically non-existent, dirty and without food. After 8 months and an email of complaint, I still have not received a response nor a refund of the 20 dollar deposit advanced as a guarantee for damages or other inconveniences that I may have caused! But what would I have to damage even more?!? All this is inexplicable, a real scam!

Horrible Place to stay. My MacBook an clothes got taken by cleaning staff. They walk in your room unannounced. Staff is also disrespectful when asked certain things in regards to a room you paid for. I was also trespassed because I didn’t let cleaning lady come in while I was trying to take a shower. The people at bikini hostel are scandalous and they care about there staff more than the customers

Place should get shut down. You will get robbed here! Your stuff is not safe in the rooms! Reported cases of staff entering your room and stealing your belongings. Do NOT come here! South Beach is expensive for a reason. This place is cheap for a reason! Avoid!

Review of Bikini Hostel Miami Pros: -good location -Pool- /Billiard table -very good internet -friendly guests Cons: - on our arrival we had to wait 2 h to get a bed. All were fully booked and guests had to be kicked out first who did not pay for the stay. - Very unfriendly staff. Very unhelpful. One is not informed about the important procedures (e.g. dinner, breakfast etc.) - high hidden costs (security fees mentioned only at the time of arrival and represented about 15 percent of the total cost) - the breakfast included in the price is cornflakes. One has the choice of sugared and even more sugared. In addition there is milk. If there is no cutlery and you ask the staff for some, you wait 15 minutes for new cutlery. - Cleanliness is up to you and your roommates in the shared room (mostly dirty). The toilet at the lobby was dirty and not usable for a few days due to clogging. - all safes are often full. Everyone is personally liable for their valuables - the mattress is uncomfortable. We slept in 3-person bunk beds that wobbled a lot. - if you don't come at exactly 18:30 for dinner, you don't get anything (dinner is included in the price) - who is afraid of covid will not feel comfortable. -People try to advertise with beautiful pictures. These are of course embellished and do not correspond to reality

Great deal for the price of a dorm. Friendly staff, chill roomie, walkable neighborhood but MAN ARE THEY LOUD. Downstairs bar blast music thru the night especially on weekends. Don't expect to get good sleep and take naps during the day. Seriously, count your blessings I didn't just file a noise ordinance complaint and call the cops Other than that, good stay. Also they don't have a work area/lounge

The nicest and best employees. All the staff are always kind and willing to help you with your problems. The atmosphere in the hostel is mostly good and fun. It’s a bit hard to stay with so many people in a room and then also share just one bathroom with 12/14 people. Somebody is coming to clean every day but it’s not the cleanest place since so many people are there and share the same bathroom. They might need to put more shelves in the rooms and do some basic renovations. And breakfast is really basic. Don’t expect too much

I stayed at Bikini hostel for more than a week and there is only good things to say: the room it’s clean and spacious. It has a kitchen which its very handy. The staff are very friendly, courteous and helpful. I would like to thank Aury for all her assistance. The breakfest its very good! I prepared amazing coffee everyday that is provided every morning in the breakfast area and the location is very close to supermarkets, food places and other various stores!!

I came to Bikini Hostel on the 5/19 to 05/25 and this place is Awesome!! Location, location, location!! Customer service is super, Aury she was very helpful, in guiding me to the nearest beaches, places to go, and services they offered in the hostel, like breakfast and dinner- Everything is secure, from the entrance to the rooms. Affordable, clean and safe most importantly. Aury and the rest of the staff were very humble and super informative. Definitely, next time this is my place!! Thanks Aury and the rest of the staff. Until next time!!

If i could give 0 stars i would..first of all the pics are very deceiving...place is dirty and is roach infested! I stayed for a week until my place was ready..biggest mistake of my life..Than the staff got upset because i kept complaining about the roaches...I'm literally going to call the health department..Than the white guy that works for the hostel at the reservation desk literally yelled at a patron that stayed there for a few days...one of the staff told the patron it was ok to park his car on the side street which it got towed the next day...when the patron asked about it the front desk guy yelled at him and was soooo rude..I honestly can't believe that place is still open....DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT STAY AT BIKINI HOSTEL!! And i know i won't get my deposit back..that whole place needs to be bull dozed to the ground and the staff all fired!

There’s coffee & delicious cereal for breakfast & an excellent dinner provided with the stay. The staff does a great job of keeping the rooms clean & tidy. Highly recommend.

I rate based on value, and the price is still super cheap in an expensive city like Miami. Its also quiet because its on the other side of miami beach. i stayed at a hotel that was too noisy and switched here for more quiet. my room was full of cool people and met some others cool, all international from europe and out america, so fun, thanks

Perfect location, blocks away from all the action, but away from all the noise and late night music. CLEAN SAFE FUN and SECURE FREE BREAKFAST AND DINNER!! They offer personal lockers with key access in all the rooms. The lobby offered luggage storage and drinks for purchase. GEO and JJ made me feel like family with their hospitality. I enjoy talking with them and developed friendships that will last a lifetime. Everyone treated me like VIP and made sure all of their guests were comfortable and enjoying the Beauty that is Miami. I will always stay at Bikini Hostel when I visit. I already has a new tripped planned and Bikini Hostel is my #1 lodging location. Affordable, Comfortable, and Memorable. Maria, the manager, ensures every guests and every employee has what they need to make Bikini Hostel better than the best. I am in love and can't wait to return in May!!!!

BEWARE. This was by far the poorest place I’ve ever stayed. Had I not already paid I would have left. Very dirty (Clogged sink in the bathroom was unusable, tub separating from the floor, 3” mattresses) and DID NOT FEEL SAFE. At 2 different points during my one night stay, I was awakened by individuals outside the window screaming as if they were being murdered. I could not get out fast enough in the morning. The only pleasantry of this stay was the gentleman running the front desk was very hospitable and friendly. As flight crew who frequently stays in the area, this doesn’t compare to places like The Freehand.

Worst hostel I have ever stayed in!!! The rooms and bathrooms are dirty and gross. The bunk beds felt like they could collapse any second. If you book a shared room, be prepared that other people have slept in your bed and used your pillow… The worst part is that it’s not a fun party hostel with lots of tourists. Its mostly people that live there permanently, since it’s cheaper than anything else in Miami Beach. Spend a little more money and get a nicer place, it’s going to be so worth it!!

Air conditioning is absolutely AWFUL. Stayed in a 1 BR that had 2 triple bunks in the living room and 2 beds in the bedroom with Only 1 window unit in the bedroom that didn’t get below 84°. It was over 100° in Miami!!! The front desk offered to switch rooms, so we checked out the other 2 rooms they had available which were even HOTTER. If you like feeling like you’re sleeping in a desert this is the place for you. I suppose if you’re here in the winter than you’ll be fine, otherwise this place needs to invest in some air conditioning. For a rate of over $500/ night this is absolutely unacceptable.

I wanted to try hostel living and made a reservation, maybe a good place to meet people from around the world but the attached baths were broken, there was a small window AC for a room with 12 beds so the room was barely cold with the humidy by the beach it was a rough night to sleep. It maybe a good place if you find a deal which you would when book early in that case it might be a great option to just store your stuff and go around. Dont expect a lot for breakfast it is just fruit loops, corn flakes, milk and bread

For last resort it is decent. But they may rip you off on your deposit as they never respond to emails or calls. I initially left a decent review but after no response and realizing the number is posted only for decoration i realized theres a little deception in business here.

I spent a most memorable week at Bikini Hostel--located in a safe, clean, rich neighborhood. I admired its landscape immensely! The staff members were courteous; non- discriminatory; non- prejudice; non-anvious; knowledgeable. The place was clean, pests-free. The rate was reasonable; and I took full advantage of its free Internet use. I welcomed the free, diversified, delicious breakfast and dinner open heartedly! I look forward to spending another week at Bikini Hostel on my next trip to Miami, Florida (USA)! Special thanks/eternally grateful to Bianca!

Very bad place to do business. Please, stay away from this HOSTEL because they will rip you off and overbill your credit card without your consent. Complaints are being filed against Bikini Hostel Cafe & Beer Garden for illegally charged prospective customers credit cards who never stayed in their dirty ragged hostel and for refusing to refund customers. This shady business practices got to stop once for all.

I booked this place for 1 day because i was passing through town , once i arrive i was a little skeptical about what i was getting myself into and decided that i would cancel but somehow the host Darius convinced me to stay lol I have to say I’m super glad i stayed i met some great people and I even extended for 3 more days .. Darius has such great service. I’m sure he Isn’t new to this . Compared to other workers Darius was by far the best as he made me feel super comfortable as if i was in a 5 star hotel. Also other guest on the property love him! Darius definitely need to be recognized. Thanks to him i will definitely return with friends . I’m considering the house next time ;)

Even tho it's a good place to stay for a reasonable price and the staff is pretty nice to everybody, it's not what is sold on Booking.com or Google. It doesn't have a pool, the pool and ping pong table are in a really bad state, the wifi it's not good at all on the rooms, and the bar never worked for the time I stayed.

Good price for a stay, it is a old place but for my family It was good. They have breakfast super simple (cereal, milk, bread, jam, coffee, butter, oranges) and the dinner is early. One good thing is one block for the free trolley to the beach. And close to other place to eat. The staff very friendly and kind, they help us in any concern. We storage our luggage the last day in a locker before to get to the airport. Maybe they have to consider a electric kettle or a bigger one. And in the room some black out curtains because with the next building lights it was hard to try to sleep.
