The chicken was pretty good. Sushi in my opinion was nothing special and definitely did not match the price. Automatic 18% tip was added to bill, not a fan of forced gratuity as this should be based upon the level of service in my opinion which didn’t level up. Environment is cool, but service was very blah. Might return to try non-sushi items.

Everything is delicious! We tried the Happy Hour menu and ordered fried chicken and it’s very tender and soft, the spicy tuna with crispy rice gave me a “wow” factor! The dragon roll and salmon roll were both excellent. In addition, I like the atmosphere and the music We came back for Sunday brunch “feast experience”. Thank you, to our wonderful staff Nick, GM Gabby and awesome Chef Jason for making it a memorable New Year’s Sunday.

We had an exceptional impromptu date night at Tanuki as we were ducking a storm. The waiter Adrian was wonderful. We had the Miami spice vegan menu and were stuffed. The food was so well seasoned and came out fast. We really enjoyed the experience and authentic tastes. Hope to go again soon. Thanks!

Visited for lunch on the weekend for a birthday in the family. Service was on point. From the reservation, they made sure to greet us and wish a happy birthday. At the table, the specials and 3-course brunch were explained. We decided to do lunch instead, ordering from the menu. We got lots of different plates to share, including some sushi, dim sum, appetizers, as well as some cocktails. Dim sum selection was okay, the variety was fun but they didn’t taste amazing, so I would probably skip on those, especially because it’s $35 for 6 pieces… sushi was very good and tasted fresh, out favorite rolls were Black Dragon and Philadelphia. Crispy Brussel sprouts were delicious and one of favorite dishes. Salmon truffle ponzu was very tasty as well! Cocktails were great and well balanced. Overall, everything was great and ambiance was on point!

Loved the feel of this place! Food was amazing! Service was great! And everything came out so fast! Restaurant was decorated very simple, but modern and plate presentation was phenomenal! 10/10 would recommend!! Will definitely be back next time I’m in Miami!

Nice, romantic environment. The food was fantastic. We got several items and loved them all! We would definitely return. They had a whole vegan menu and everything that I tasted was incredible.

I had high expectations, given the great reviews and pics online. The atmosphere is really nice, but unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The spicy scallop roll was too small (see pic). The dragon roll was bland. And the chef special was awkward to eat because the sashimi was under the maki, making it hard to pick them both up together with chopsticks. The fried rice also lacked flavor and had an odd texture because it was a really short grain.

The service was poor even though they were not that busy...our waiter stopped by once or twice despite us trying to flag him down, and we also had another server who we asked for water from and she gave me a half glass of water and later when we asked for more water , never got it. We didn't order much but the food was overall good but ridiculously too expensive....I ordered tempura shrimp as an appetizer which cost $25!!! That was $5 per shrimp, and they were the biggest. And the wife ordered vegetable udon noodles which was a main course for $18. How is it that 5 shrimp tempura costs $25 for an appetizer and she gets a bowl of udon noodles for $18....that doesn't make any sense that an appetizer cost more than the main course. Overall food was good, service was really poor, and price was ridiculous.

Beautiful restaurant. Came here for dinner on a Friday night. Great ambience & atmosphere. Live DJ who was playing amazing music. Extensive menu. My favorite was the salmon pizza. So delicious. Wish it was bigger. I wasn’t a fan of the crispy sushi appetizer. Also hot tea should be on the house with sushi/Asian restaurants. It wasn’t… Pretty pricey. But a nice experience. Automatic 18% tip added to bill. Overall definitely recommend. I highly recommend to Come during happy hour (4-7pm) or on their weekly promotions such as maki Mondays selected rolls for$10, dim sum Tuesdays- buy1 get 1 of equal or lesser value free, wine & sake Wednesday 50% off bottles of wine&sake. Lastly omakase Thursdays of 3 course dinner for $47. There’s also weekend brunch feast.

I was disappointed by how small the sushi I received was. I had never seen such a tiny sushi . The taste was acceptable but the portion size was too small to enjoy, paying almost USD20. Sushi in JAPAN is not only much more delicious but also comes at a significantly cheaper price.

! I rarely ever right a review but i was blown away by the service. I was only walking around when the host said hello to me, when walking back said hello again so i decided to coke in for a drink. Daniela has such a nice bubbly personality and was so welcoming. Lenny and Tomas took great care of me As well! The vibe of the restaurant is so fun. It’s a very clean restaurant. The happy hour deals are great too. We ordered two drinks, and 3 appetizers and it was only $50! The food was great. Thank you so much i will be back.

Our experience at Tanuki South Beach was nothing short of extraordinary, thanks in large part to the impeccable service provided by Manager Lenny. The sushi surpassed all expectations, showcasing a perfect blend of creativity and freshness. Lenny's attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction added a personal touch that made the evening truly memorable. From the first bite to the last, Tanuki South Beach, under Lenny's management, sets a remarkable standard for both culinary excellence and exceptional service. Favorite restaurant in the world !!!

Loved the place. The bartender Lucas was amazing. I asked him for a special drink and he surprised me with this cocktail. It was delicious!!! I had the pleasure to meet the Tanuki Team. Thanks to the chef, Sofi, Mel and Danila. I recommend the experience to everyone :)

Another great meal at a local favorite — and amazing service with Lucas. Thank you for my first Sake bomb!!! The food is always delicious — fried rice, Singapore noodles and of course, grade A sushi ❤️❤️❤️ PS Thank you, Danilla, for your beautiful smiles — very much complimented our meal with you today.

The sushi was delicious, the staff was attentive, the area was spacious, the decorations intriguing, and the ambiance was perfect. The fire show was also fun. The staff go above and beyond! Highly recommend if you’re staying in Miami Beach!

The pictures below are what they advertise as a large platter, which ends up being about $50 with taxes. I’d hardly consider this a platter of any sort and quite laughable with so many other great options around that provide more value. Additionally, restaurant didn’t seem to care when I said this is a equivalent to a small-medium type platter. I’m a local resident and won’t be returning after this.

Had late lunch at Tanuki and the food was amazing as well as the service. Our server was Lenny and he made us feel very special with a complimentary ladies Wednesday champagne. Very nice and relaxing atmosphere. 10/10

Their sushi is very fresh, they offer a large variety of Chinese and Japaense fare. Thursdays they have a omakase special for $47. It was absolutely delicious and lots of food. The fish was as fresh as a $150 omakase. Every day they have a different special. Plenty of vegan options as well. The servers have great knowledge of the menu and are very attentive. I recommend Tanuki..

My wife and I had an amazing time tonight. We took advantage of the happy hour so we got to have a little taste of all of the great things they have to offer. Our server Belén, was very welcoming and very engaging throughout our visit. She also made a recommendation for the matcha lavacake. My wife and I were a little skeptical about it at first but decided to adventure into it and order it. Let me tell you that the mixture of the matcha lavacake with vanilla ice cream is perfection. It's not too sweet, it's not overwhelmingly sweet.....its just right. The warm matcha with the ice cream screams perfection. Compliments to the chefs as well. We will definitely be back!

Our waiter from the 1Hotel, Chris C highly recommended Tanuki and we decided to try it. First note - make your reservation as the hostess didn't seem to be flexible with seatings the day we were there (our party size increased by one). Second note - our reservation overlaps with "happy hour" and what a great way to sample their dishes at the happy hour prices (don't be fooled, the portions were sample size as well). Nevertheless it's a phenomenal way to explore any restaurants' dishes. The ambiance was lively - great place for dates, groups, after work, and I didn’t feel like it was a tourist trap. Service was a tad bit slow but it is Miami and vacation for us so that was not a big deal. The food was excellent - I have no pictures to show, perhaps the dishes didn't linger long enough before it was devoured. Side Note - dog friendly as you will see in one of my attached pictures. I have dined at Sushi Garage which I felt was a bit overrated nevertheless a good spot for sushi in Miami but not necessarily that place that hit my recurring visit list; Tanuki is becoming my go-to spot for sushi in Miami (definitely hit the recurring visit list) And how can I miss the cocktails!!!! They were innovative and amazing. Very Important - if you know Chris C, let him know he was on point with his recommendation.
