The hotel was very nice and welcoming on the outside and the lobby. It stopped there. For the price we paid, we expected a nicer experience. There were 6 of us. Ages 11-81. We stayed here two nights before getting on a cruise. Our room was a disaster. We had no towels, dishes, silverware in the kitchen. I called the front desk to ask for towels and we had to go down and retrieve them ourselves. They didn’t have enough for 6 people. We never received any kitchen items. The ceilings in our room were stained from lots of leaking. Stove was scratched and rusted. I will attach pictures. With the price we paid, it was terrible. Will not recommend nor stay here again. The beach was pretty. At night there were several pot smokers and no one monitoring. It’s not close to any restaurants either. Had to take an Uber anywhere. The beach bar and restaurant was extremely expensive.

My friends and I had the best stay here at The Alexander! The service was great from the moment we walked in. The lobby was nice, check in was a breeze, and the staff was so nice and helpful with suggestions! Our room was perfect, so spacious and the views were unreal 🤩 The pool was awesome with a fun bar playing great music and yummy drinks! Few steps from the beach and right on the board walk that leads you to south beach. The location is awesome, you aren’t in the heart of all the buzz so it stays nice and quiet but you aren’t too far either. They have city bikes you can rent and take a short ride along the board walk to great restaurants and nightlife. Can’t wait to come back!

A group of 6 friends stayed here for a bachelor party. Pros: Nicely renovated lobby and pool, and direct access to the beach. That’s about it. Now for the cons (here we go): This hotel is dated and dirty as hell. Half of the amenities in the room were broken. There wasn’t even a shade for the giant window that faces east, where the sun comes up, causing us to wake up around 7a with the sun blaring in our faces. Some outlets didn’t work, the sink consistently clogged and backed up, draining maybe an hour later, which caused the whole kitchen to smell. The dishwasher handle was broken and the dishes and glassware were dirty as hell. The bathroom tubs also had trouble draining and the hot water heater basically lasted for one, maybe 2 showers at most before nosediving into warm/chilly temperatures. The “guest service” was also atrocious. Every instance with an employee, with the exception of one, was terrible. They were rude and inattentive. Couldn’t be more displeased to actually help you. You would wait in line for coffee (which was terrible and overpriced), or the front desk, or the gift shop, and they’d basically stare at you or their phone until you told them what you wanted. At one point we asked for more towels on the first day at the front desk, and they essentially told us they couldn’t do that. Towels. The lobby and hallways were also absolutely freezing (see pics). The location is also relatively far away from the main part of Miami Beach, so be prepared for traffic or long walks to anything essential. Don’t stay here. The End

Rooms are dirty, dated, and unsafe. Condo was not ready at 4pm check-in. Had to wait over an hour. Then Arrived to filthy room and then relocated to different condo with exposed outlets and broken toilets. Forced to move again next day. Poorly maintained property. Pool is very cloudy and not clean. Beach has undertow and jellyfish. Horrible customer service at front desk. Do not rent from Enrique through AirBnb. The only redeeming quality is proximity to beach.

My room had mold in both bathrooms, apartment was not clean, the balcony disgusting. Pool area is very poor looking, pictures look nothing like it. I booked through Airbnb and they ended up refunding my stay but The Alexander never cared to refund the registration fee knowing that we left because of mold. I was not going to risk my health staying there specially while being pregnant. Spoke to management via email - GABRIEL PEREZ and he was also no help. Needless to say customer service and appearance of the place went hand in hand.

Well I'll start by saying we had issues right from the start, when I was booking directly with the Alexander I was advised to upgrade to a specific suite if I wanted full ocean front views. So instead of a one room king sized bed, I took a two bedroom suite. Which I took as it would be guaranteed I would get the oceanfront view, however upon arrival I was quickly told they weren't going to honor that guarantee. They gave us a room on the 15th floor, we found our room & upon entering we noticed the blinds were broken in both bedrooms. We decided to ignore it and just leave the blinds in the main bedroom down for the duration of our stay hoping that would be our only issue. The balcony which was supposed to have been oceanfront was partial ocean, the building next to us, & part bay view extremely disappointing. However the issues kept coming, next we noticed none of the three tvs were working. Thankfully I had brought my firestick, so we could at least play music & watch whatever we wanted. The room was bare, & the couch was peeling all over, the kitchen had no serving dishes but did have pots & pans to use. As well as refrigerator which didn'thave a ice maker, microwave & dishwasher. The location appears to be a condominium so in turn there were no ice machines anywhere on property. Instacart saved us, we got everything we needed for our stay that night. The bed would've been comfortable, except they had no fitted sheets to fit the master bedroom. Basically put a flat sheet on the bed which kept rolling around as it wasn't secured. As well as there was a loud humming sound coming from the ac unit. Next day we went to the pool where we were told we weren't allowed to bring any drinks down from our room, forcing us to buy from their bar. Drinks were great, & our pool attendant was worth 5 stars just on her own. Unfortunately the pool was out of towels everyday by 1pm leaving you to fend for yourself, suggest you get extra towel credits upon arrival. We also scheduled spa treatments that day, & highly recommend going to restart for services. We had couples massages & facials, again 5 stars. Additionally the pool towels run out by 2pm each day, afterwich they have no towels to provide & you're left to figure it out on your own. The next day I had family meet us at 1247pm, the vallet took the vehicle & they left at 8pm the same day. However I was charged for two days of parking over a technicality because at 1pm the next days charge goes in. When I asked to speak to someone about it to resolve it the attendant told me the manager was not on site that I'd have to address it in the morning. Went back to our room, which we had for one more night, but unfortunately noticed the ac unit was even louder than before. At around 4am we noticed the ac had stopped working altogether it was now 85 degrees in the room. Thankfully we are locals & had the option of picking up & checking out. Unfortunately the manager of the valet hadn't arrived, I asked how I could reach them & they said I would have to come back another time to address it in person. Needless to say we wouldn't be coming back.

Looks like most of the other reviews were before construction was finished… honestly I had a really great experience. I’ve been coming every Dec for 3 years. Kind staff, great pool right off the beach with beautiful views (shoutout to our pool bartender!), and best of all surprisingly big rooms.

Hotel is fine I guess. They are major jerks about food and drink even when you buy it at the hotel. At 9 AM we bought 2 coffees, a bagel with cream cheese, and an empanada for 30$ (from the hotel cafe) went to walk to the beach so we could eat breakfast and security wouldn’t let us walk through the pool to go to the beach (even acknowledging the food and drink were clearly bought at the hotel) and instead made us walk through a filthy alleyway with smelly dumpsters with our food that again was purchased AT the hotel for an insane amount of money. Security guard was really rude will update if I see him again. I understand wanting to control food and drink but that was over the top and out of line.

No early check in allowed - period. This unit was sold from the Airbnb owner back to the hotel a week before my trip. The hotel definitely has had many upgrades recently. However, the sliding door in our unit was broken and would not shut completely, letting in heat and bugs. One morning we returned from breakfast to find that water was shut off for the entire hotel and wouldn’t be back on for at least 4+ hours. We were given no notice of this and a few members of our party were not able to shower before their flight home. One room had a leak coming from the vents. The front desk staff aren’t great, they seem always annoyed. Overall we made the best of it and enjoyed our stay! If you plan on spending 90% of your time at the beach or out and about I’d say it’s worth it.

The location and the amenities of this hotel were good. Even though everything in the area closed by midnight. You have to go further out for anything after that time. The hotel has great potential, but surely needs updates and cleaned better. There is a very awkward slope while walking to rooms. We were on the PH floor, but the room was not PH quality. Checkin was smooth, but there was a very strong food smell in our room when we got there. The kitchen was minimally stocked with cookware that need replaced. Coffee was available, though we rather get it from the expensive coffee shop downstairs. The pool area and beach are nice. I wouldn't order from the pool bar again, because our service was not good. We were forgotten about, then she charged us for items we did not order then tried to charge for a drink we never received. There was also a serious language barrier there. The beach was nice. Keep in mind if you have more than 2 ppl in your party, you only get beach 2 chairs and no umbrella. It is all a charge and NOT included in the additional $40+ tax resort fee. Cleanliness was an issue at this hotel. Our room had not been swept, mopped, nor cleaned properly when we arrived. Not really sure if our sheets were properly cleaned. We asked for sheets the same night of getting there, and were told there was a $120 charge per bed. The dish washer did not work properly, but we did handwash our dishes. The white leather furniture there, needs to be thrown out. Its literally stained and clearly not properly cleaned. The bathrooms, literally falling apart. We wiped Stains from the floors. The walls and window seals don't look like they've ever been cleaned. The elevators dis not work properly the whole time we were there. And there was always a loud humming noise late at night making it hard to sleep. I think it was the service elevator. Overall, I would not recommend staying here unless it is a last minute or rush situation. Not until they have started to clean properly and some very necessary repairs.

The apartment itself is very nice and perfect for a large group. As far as customer service, these people are extremely rude. They charged us for 12 people when we only had 11 for no reason at all. They collect IDs when you get in and refused to check how many IDs were given. We were treated so poorly from these people especially the front desk. The workers also just decide what to charge people for food/beverages. I got a coffee for $5 one morning and the same afternoon was charged over $8 for the exact same coffee. I also bought aloe from the store which had a price tag for $19 and the cashier ripped off the tag and charged me $25. This place is an absolute rip off and the way they treat people is unacceptable.

Aside from the location, this is one of the worst places to stay Miami. Service at this hotel was nonexistent inside the hotel: - for a 6 person suite, we had 4 towels, and could not get extras because "they were out" - No extra trash bags aside from the singular kitchen bag which we filled in a day. When we asked for more we were provided with ice bags - Room was not serviced a singular time for a 3 day stay The outside pool area: - service was better here, but that is because of the tiki bar and them trying to get you to overpay on drinks - you could not bring your own snacks/drinks to the pool area - no drinks on their menu were under $18 aside from beer which was $9 for a 12 ounce can The Beach: - best part of our stay, ans getting to the beach was extremely easy - if you want to spend the majority of your time here, this place could be an option for you - side note, we rented chairs/umbrellas and the staff had to hold your credit card on before you returned your stuff. They ended up losing 3-4 credit cards in the sand including ours. They did knock our bill down to $25 (originally $120) for everything All in all we still had a great time with our family, but don't expect to be serviced if you stay here.

Right off the bat, there was dust everywhere. The rooms didn’t have any lightbulbs for the light switches (used lamps). There are few outlets. The bathroom was rusty and the tub was chipping. The sink is in bad shape. There was a strand of hair with something at the end of it on the hairdryer (dusty as well). The TVs don’t even work. There’s nothing on them. None of this was worth a $250 security deposit!!

My overall experience was awesome however, there seemed to be some items needing repair. Shower was cool not warm and the staff won't even let you walk through the pool deck to the beach with an insulated cup which is ridiculous since you have direct access from the ocean front resort. Anyhow the view was amazing and the suite with kitche was very spacious and open, large balcony was the best.

The room we stayed in was horrible. It looked as if no one had updated it in years. There were holes in the lamp shades, holes in the wall. Half the wall outlets didn’t work, the lights were broken. The hot water took about 30 min to actually turn hot. The beds are horribly hard. Waited over an hour for the valet to park our car and bring up our bags after calling several times, and paying them $150. After staying here twice a year for the past few years I don’t think we will be coming back. This will be our last stay.

Very spacious, comfortable beds but lots of room for improvement. Bedding is dirty (comforters have stains on them). Blinds are non functional, curtains would have been helpful for better sleep. Heating/cooling doesn't seem to function well. It's actually VERY cold and there's no way to bring the temp down even with the heating on. Sofa and dining chairs have lots of stains. Our fridge has some nasty smell in it. Some of the dishes put away are still dirty. Restaurant downstairs was also a let down (given that there are no other places within walk in distance). It's family friendly but not practical. Saved a lot last minute but checking out a day early because cleanliness is super important to us for comfortable stay.

The Alexander Hotel is a masterpiece of relaxation and sophistication. Our recent stay was a journey into comfort, with the beach just steps away and the soothing ambiance embracing us throughout. The staff's commitment to ensuring a seamless experience was evident in every interaction. The on-site restaurant delivered culinary excellence, and the event halls are perfect for any celebration. If you're seeking a haven of elegance in Miami Beach, The Alexander Hotel is the answer.

The first 2 days my stay with my girlfriend were perfect! Nice rooms, living space, bathrooms (the smaller one can be updated but the master was great)! We got here 09/12/2022. Staff was welcoming and no early check in. However, if a room is ready and you're on the property they will accommodate you like they did for us (approximately 10 while we were at the pool). Had a bit of trouble because we booked through priceline only to find out on arrival that they aren't associated with priceline anymore and we booked our room in July. It got handled though. On our last day without any notification from staff or the front desk our water was shut off due to repairs or whatever. We had to call the front desk and thankfully we did. A warning would have been nice though and we were without running water for 6hrs. No apologies for the inconvenience, no offers for a refund rate to get our last night discounted, nothing. Not even "is there anything we can do to better accommodate you and your needs during this inconvenience?" $250 hold for a security deposit and they couldn't offer to take the hold off for the inconvenience either! I know I'd be getting it back but come one! Work with us and the other guests! It's ridiculous and on top of that with our stay we get 2 beach lounge chairs included but there is a $15 charge for renting an umbrella. Like you would think that with the money we paid to stay they would include that too. It's not breaking the bank at all but still its the principle behind it. We do love how it is private access to the hotel and to the beach! It was awesome and as far as the bar it is pricey for very strong overpoured drinks. We loved the privacy but I don't think we'll stay here again because of the inconvenience we had

The Alexander Hotel was an unexpected treasure in the heart of Miami. The moment I arrived, I was struck by the spaciousness of the rooms. They were tastefully decorated, offering a sense of modern luxury. However, what truly sets this place apart is its perfect beachfront location. The direct access to the sandy shores of Miami Beach was a dream come true. The service was fantastic, and the staff was attentive to every need, making me feel valued as a guest. The combination of spacious rooms, fantastic service, and a beautiful beachfront location made The Alexander a perfect getaway.

We got a hotel room here for a bachelorette and had a wonderful time! The room was super spacious and easily enough room for the 7 of us. The decor was cute and the vibe was perfect. The view from the balcony was also beautiful and the pool area and pool bar was so nice that we ended up spending a day lounging (with super easy beach access also). Absolutely recommend staying here if you’re in Miami!

The condo was horrible. Pillows had stains on them, bathroom tiles were falling off, no vanity in the one bathroom to put any necessities on. Bathroom door was rotten and falling apart. Kitchen was missing knobs on stove top Shades on the windows did not go up and down. Way over priced for the horrible amenities. The only good thing was the view of the ocean from the balcony. I would not recommend staying there to anyone. First time in Miami and had such a bad experience

They lure you in with decent room prices, then gouge you with a $489 "booking fee." Very disappointed because I would expect a better quality property for what they are charging. The pool area is nice enough, but $10 for a 12 ounce can of beer at the pool side bar? 🙄 They have a cute enough coffee shop and general store area, but when my husband went to purchase a small travel sized bottle of contact solution, it rang up as $6 but the lady canceled out that, rescanned something else and it came up $12 dollars For 2 ounces!?! Then the other couple with us paid over $20 for 2 very basic turkey sandwiches at the cafe. Finally get to our room, and the toilet is broken, leaking water everywhere from behind the tank when flushed. We informed them right away, because we didn't want blamed and then charged MORE money for something we didn't do. Luckily, my husband was able to fix it himself. The maintenance man eventually showed up, but didn't speak or understand English, according to him. I decided to take a bath in the whirlpool tub, but it didn't hold water past the jets, so that was useless. Really disappointed for how much they hyped the place up online. Obviously takes advantage of their tourists and vacationers. Will recommend to others to NOT stay here. Over priced EVERY thing , and really low quality for what you're paying. Not sure what they are using all of their money on, but it's not towards upgraded rooms.

I stayed here for a night. I loved the place, the amenities, the view, the rooms. There is a beautiful beach behind the hotel. I enjoyed my stay here. Like most of the hotels around the location, they do not have free parking. The staff at the reception could be rude. Overall, I would rate my stay at this place 3.75/5.

I stayed here for 4 nights 5 days, and oh my lord I wish I didn’t. After day 3 I went to the front desk and asked to get my towels replaced. They told me room service was done for the night but they would gladly request for them to stop by in the morning. I was like great awesome. Except they never came. On check out day, they charged me a $30 a night fee that they never disclosed with me when I checked in. Their pathetic excuse was someone should’ve told me at check in, but somehow that’s my fault and should come out of my pocket. I bought food from the lobby, brought it to the pool and was told by an employee I can’t do that. They told me I had to buy food from the pool area. This place seems awesome but they rob all of their guests. Don’t recommend staying here if it’s the last place in Miami.

  • 2/5 Kelly H. 9 months ago on Google
Good place to crash, the room was clean. Nice views, close to quiet side of beach. But that's all, their service was horrible. When following up on a room service request we were given a lot of attitude, it took all day and two reminders to receive any additional supplies for the room (toilet paper, room towels, and garbage bags; essentials for a big group). We realized the fridge was unplugged because it doesn't work, which was why there was a mini fridge in the corner.. again for a big group of girls. That was only discovered after we ordered groceries for the weekend to waste money on. Front desk genuinely didn't care and was very unapologetic for their miscommunication/not upholding expectations. I would advise to stay somewhere else if it's any more than 3 day stay

Tropical drinks are VERY expensive at $23.00 each after tax, resort fee, and mandatory gratuity. The room was outdated, but I heard they are updating. We had some issues with cleanliness when we arrived as well. The pool filtration system was working at about 10%, and a couple of underwater lights were broken. The rest of the grounds were fine. On the positive side, the balcony was very large, with a spectacular view. It held six adults comfortably. The room size was quite a bit larger than expected. The new patio/pool area was done nicely.
