We picked out this hotel because it seemed like it was in a good area right next to the beach and it was a walkable distance to the plaza. It also seemed like a quiet area of Miami Beach. This would not be worth it at all compared to what we had to deal with with our stay. First of all, with charging there are hidden fees. Not only this, but they are charged my partner’s card at least twice for the same amount. It somehow ended up very close to $400 for three nights, however it was displayed as $81/night. The amount is fine, however false advertising. It also double charged for some reason, and ended up being $800 in total when this happened. Second, I felt very uncomfortable with the man downstairs and what he said to me. He basically cat called me and made me feel displeased and I did not appreciate it. Whenever I walked by for the next days he would say something. The first floor (not sure about the second or whatever) reeked strongly of the smell of cannabis. Having never smoked marijuana or been in the same room as someone who was smoking a lot of marijuana, this place was the strongest smelling place of cannabis ever. This is the part that is going to look very bad for the hotel. On the second day when we came back mid day to the hotel, I went to the restroom for a moment and someone had urinated in the toilet, all around the toilet seat, on the floor, on the side of the trash can, and in the trash can. We should’ve taken photos because it was just disgusting. I had never seen anything like this, but then again I have never stayed in a place this unkept either. It had to have been someone who had a key into our room like housekeeping or something. Whoever it was, it made my partner so feel disgusted he threw away everything we had for personal hygiene wise such as toothbrushes, deodorants, tooth floss, etc that this person could’ve touched and we had to replace everything since we do not live down here. Additionally, the bathroom is absurdly tiny and does not look like it has been renovated since the 80’s. Don’t get me wrong, the outside of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous and very well preserved. However, in the bathrooms it is the opposite. There seem to be cracks everywhere in the walls and around the mirror, I saw roaches in the bathroom, the shower was very tiny for me and my significant other (who is over 6ft, very tiny!!) The hotel also gave lack of services and anything else you needed like towels. There was maybe one larger towel in the room and two smaller ones in the rest room. I felt harassed by the employee. Some of the people staying in the rooms were sketchy. Overall, would not recommend especially because of the urine in the trash can. If anything else didn’t do it for you in this review, the urine definitely should’ve.

Not impressed with this hotel. It does not look anything like the pictures. The entire hallway and our room smelled of smoke even though this is allegedly a "smoke free" hotel. There were sketchy people hanging in the front late hours of the night. Our room did not have a working TV. The beds were comfy but that's about it. The room also smelled of urine in addition to smoke Do not recommend staying here.

My first time in Miami and I will never stay here again. Beds were not leveled, mattresses were old and had springs coming out of the mattress, no phone in the room, internet was no good, cell service was bad inside building. Not enough outlets in the room. Restroom too small. Building and rooms can use some TLC and upgrading. Didn’t go to other hotel just because we had already paid and couldn’t loose my money.

Worst hotel I’ve ever been to. I cannot even explain how dirty it is. The smell inside is almost as repulsive as the pee smell from the alleyways right outside. I now understand why it is so cheap to book a room here. The walls are paper thin, cockroaches linger, and it doesn’t even seem safe due to cheap door on each room. The bathroom is molded and filthy, and the bedsheets are noticeably unwashed. It is not family friendly, cribs are not offered. You can’t ask for extra sheets or pillows either. The one and ONLY perk to this place is that the beach is right across the street. In my opinion, that perk is not worth staying in this roach infested hotel.

Our experience may not necessarily be the same as another guest, but this stay didn't meet our expectations. To start, the walls are paper thin - we literally heard our neighbors whispering to each other. Next, each day house keeping left us fewer and fewer towels. On the last day we had no wash cloths, no hand towel, and no shower mat; just 2 towels. The first night the sheets had hair still in them from the previous guest. We dropped our belongings off and went to the front desk to request they put clean sheets on our bed while we went to dinner. House keeping simply re-made the bed with the same sheets. The tv had NO reception - not 1 channel. The room safe didn't work. Less than 1/2 the electrical outlets in the room worked. We had to unplug the air conditioner to charge our electronics. On the bright side the people above us probably had a great ocean view, we didn't from the ground floor.

Very old building needs to be torn down mice and roaches were seen elevators don't work AC units don't work burn marks from cigarettes all over bathroom sheets were stained and dirty staff very rude. I actually paid for a room in the Broadmoor but they put me in Ocean surf and they did not match the pictures at all big big scam and a tourist trap

Our room was right next to an air conditioner on a roof, and it was loud. It kept us up all night. Called the desk, they don't answer their phone. The elevator didn't work. Ask for a balcony to view the ocean. The balcony was shared with the room next to us, very uncomfortable. Bed just had a sheet on it and nothing else.

My partner and I booked a room through Airbnb. It looked like we were reserving a room at the Broadmore Hotel but when we arrived for check-in we were sent over two buildings down to the Ocean Surf Hotel. The building is quite old, the elevator is not even functioning. So be prepared to lift your luggage up a flight of stairs. We had to walk up to the 3rd floor with work equipment. Besides being misleaded through Airbnb when we wanted to extend our nights due to its good location the manager quoted us a very reasonable price. After discussing the information the manager had shared with the front desk attended, who seemed to be of African descent. The staff member even claimed she did not know who her manager was but when asked for the managers email, she was able to give it to my partner. The manager had never shared the information she communicated with my partner with her staff and later discredited even having the conversation with my partner. Stating that she never made that claim. There even seems to be miscommunication between the hotel's front desk staff and cleaning staff. Due to cleaning staff walking into our room two days in a row, not knowing we had extended our stay.

The beds were soft but not made. Pictures are different then the room. Basically you get what you pay for but we were there to just sleep. Was not happy that the beds weren't made. But it is what it is. Had no problem with the people at the front desk.... It is also literally right in front of the beach so that was nice. But the rooms smell musky due to that.

This place isnt too bad for the price or the location. Rooms are outdated & I did notice a few teeny tiny ants. Shower doesn't have a moving door so turning it on without getting wet is very tricky. We arrived around 9:30 - 10 pm & the man working was welcoming & charismatic. The view of the beach is beautiful from here, day or night. Just steps from the ocean!

You don't get what you don't pay for. Bed was broken and felt like i was sleeping in a taco shell. Room had no ice bucket, hair dryer, coffee maker, toilet paper, phone, iron, appeal of any sort. I did enjoy walking buy the front desk and listening to the complaints that were very vocal. I have seen less irate people that got their car towed. Pool was unkept.

This hotel is perfect for 2-4 people if you don’t mind sharing a bed with someone. If not, I’d say 2 to a room. This place is awesome for the price. This place is for the traveler that will only use the room to sleep, clean up or get some quiet time. They have a tv, but not many channels. If you have or are someone that likes to watch a little tv overlooking the beach… smh haha; just bring a hdmi cable and an adapter for your type of phone. Not overly loud but you get some noise depending on how booked it is. Door has some gaps so you’ll get a little hallway light. Overall I’d say 6-7 out of 10. I’d stay here again because it is right next to the beach and the price was worth it to me.

Fantastic beach front location (across the road from a quiet strip of beach). Situated by shops and restaurants and great for bus routes to the mainland and South Beach. Hotel itself was very basic, and not very clean. Room did have a powerful AC though that was much needed in the heat. Our toilet broke several times during our stay but staff responded quickly to try and sort it.

I only give 5 star because we had a clean room and decent experience as a 2** star hotel this deserves its 2 star facilities rating
