My
wife
booked
this
hotel
because
it
was
the
cheapest
one
in
the
area.
She
did
not
check
the
reviews
first.
This
was
a
huge
mistake.
I
read
the
reviews
on
the
way
in,
and
can
confirm
all
of
the
negative
feedback
is
warranted.
We
stayed
in
room
225.
When
we
arrived,
we
could
not
get
the
door
to
unlock.
Once
the
manager
let
us
in,
we
thought
it
looked
about
what
I
expected.
The
floor
was
dirty
and
badly
worn,
the
wood
in
the
bathroom
was
rotting
out,
cigarette
burns
on
all
nightstands,
non-functional
lamp,
piping
sticking
out
of
the
wall
from
an
unfinished
renovation.
More
alarmingly,
the
smoke
detector
had
been
removed
leaving
just
the
wiring
harness
dangling
from
the
ceiling.
We
decided
to
brave
the
room,
anyway.
I
turned
on
the
tv
and
was
surprised
to
see
only
broadcast
channels
(no
cable).
Fine,
I
put
on
SNL
and
tried
to
get
some
sleep.
I
tossed
and
turned
because
the
thin
mattress
hurt
my
back
of
I
stayed
in
one
position
too
long.
Around
3
AM
my
wife
told
me
to
come
look
at
this
bug
that
was
crawling
on
her
bed.
I
instantly
recognized
it
to
be
a
bedbug
engorged
with
blood.
I
was
done
sleeping
and
spent
the
rest
of
the
night
planning
how
to
disinfect
everything
that
came
anywhere
near
the
room.
When
I
told
the
clerk
about
the
bedbugs
at
checkout,
she
just
smiled
and
said
"okay."
