The
kindness
of
the
doctors
I've
spoken
to
so
far
is
the
only
reason
I
didn't
give
this
hospital
0
stars.
My
father
was
admitted
over
a
week
ago
Tuesday
with
a
broken
leg
and
disorientation.
There
was
no
hospital
phone
in
his
room,
so
the
only
way
I
could
reach
him
was
by
his
cell
phone.
He
had
surgery
on
Thursday
morning
(his
birthday)
and
I
was
told
by
three
people
that
I
could
see
him
at
2
in
the
afternoon.
I
drove
40
minutes
to
the
hospital
and
was
denied
admittance,
even
though
he
is
disoriented
and
I
am
his
medical
proxy,
because
there
are
no
visitors
allowed
to
the
surgical
floor
due
to
Covid
(note:
It's
March
2022).
The
Hospital
Director
was
heartless
and
cold
in
turning
me
away,
insinuating
that
his
staff
would
never
tell
me
that
I
could
come
because
they
know
better.
The
next
day
(Friday),
my
father
stopped
answering
his
cell
phone
and
I
was
told
there
was
no
way
they
could
get
a
phone
to
him
for
me
to
speak
to
him.
The
next
day
he
was
transferred
to
ICU
for
pulmonary
embolism.
NO
ONE
called
to
inform
me
-
I
had
to
call
myself
to
find
out.
I
was
told
there
were
no
visitors
allowed
in
ICU.
Then
I
was
told
I
could
visit
for
10
minutes
(which
I
worried
would
only
further
confuse
him.)
Then
I
was
told
I
could
visit
for
30
minutes,
but
he
was
being
transferred
to
a
regular
floor
and
that
I
should
just
wait
because
they
didn't
have
as
many
restrictions.
Then
I
was
told
there
were
no
visitors
allowed
in
ICU,
after
all.
He
wasn't
transferred
to
a
regular
floor
for
2
days.
Once
he
was
transferred
to
a
regular
floor,
I
was
told
that
the
entire
hospital
was
not
allowing
visitors.
Just
now,
I
spoke
to
his
nurse
who
informed
me
that
I
could
visit
from
9
am
-
6
pm.
It's
now
been
10
days
since
I've
seen
my
father,
8
days
since
I've
last
spoken
to
him
and
they've
done
little
to
nothing
to
assist
me
in
connecting
with
him
-
despite
requests
on
both
of
our
sides
to
speak
to
each
other.
I've
tried
nurses,
charge
nurses
and
even
case
managers
and
social
workers
who
have
done
nothing
but
to
pass
the
problem
on
to
someone
else
or
tell
me
they
can't
help
me.
Furthermore,
his
current
nurse
has
just
informed
me
that
they've
lost
the
charger
for
my
father's
cell
phone,
thus
preventing
him
from
reaching
out
to
me
the
only
way
he
could.
The
misinformation
regarding
visiting
hours
is
atrocious,
and
the
complete
disconnection
of
patients
from
their
loved
ones
(especially
medical
proxies)
is
downright
malpractice.
Not
only
can
you
not
visit,
but
there
are
no
landlines
in
any
of
the
patient
rooms,
no
cordless
phones
available
for
them
to
use,
and
they
lose/mishandle
patients'
property.
I
am
disgusted
by
this
hospital
and
thankful
that
it
is
not
one
we
will
need
to
go
to
often.
