Brooke Owens Staff Veterinarian at vca refuses to call me back, two weeks ago today my dog, Dixie had some problems breathing so I brought her in to the closest vet and she says almost immediately that your dog is dying and has internal bleeding, cancer just from using a sonogram and that they could try emergency surgery or put her to sleep, as time goes on she doesnā€™t even mention that she can be saved anymore itā€™s almost like she didnā€™t care or didnā€™t wanna bother with her anymore, because after words, she moved her in a private room with me and she went back to help someone else which didnā€™t make any sense cause she said she was dying and suffering, so why would she wait any longer and if she wasnā€™t why didnā€™t she use that valuable time to try to save her? It was also very worrying, when my mother came to sit with me and Dixie the first thing they asked her for was payment for the euthanasia and they made some excuse because afterwards you might be sad or something itā€™s almost like they just wanted to put her down because it wasnā€™t their dog and it was a quick money for them, rather actually putting time and effort into trying to save her. Was hard enough coming to terms with not having her anymore but now I got to think of what couldā€™ve been especially when this lady does not call me back makes me think they never wanted to save heršŸ˜¢šŸ˜¢šŸ˜¢

I just moved here 4 months ago. My bully has hip dysplasia with prescription dog food, allergies with prescription meds, and came to me abused which has a slew of behavioral hurdles that also has prescription medication, I also travel once a month or so and donā€™t know anyone here so I needed somewhere to board her. So I needed to find a regular vet down here in Miami STAT. Thankfully, VCA Alton Road checks all the boxes. Let me tell youā€¦. The people at VCA Alton Road treat her like she is their own. They get excited to see her, theyā€™re sad to see her go, and they really pay attention to her and her needs. Iā€™ve seen them greet her in packs with smiles, open arms, and excitement in their voices to see her. They give her back to me in groups with soft hearts to say their sad goodbyes and I can feel so much GENUINE love and care in the staff for her. That goes really, really far for me. My dog was heavily abused when I picked her up as a puppy. Sheā€™s afraid of everything and everyone but has a heart as big as the sun. It takes her a long time to warm up to people and sheā€™s never liked going to the vetā€¦though it took a few visits, she is okay with the people there and will now leave me willingly without having to coax her or pretend to walk with her like I did before. Sheā€™s never achieved that with any vet. Last visit she even walked to the scale on her own without needing to be lead to it! I love this place and the staff within itā€¦and so does my dog, Keeva, which matters most to me. Thanks for all you do!

I have been here a few times with 3 cats, maybe more ( I have my own and also do rescue). I find the clinic cold, dirty and chaotic these days. No smiles, hellos or goodbyes. The waiting room was filthy with old seating covered in dog hair. I didnt even want to sit down. The vet with the long blonde hair was the best and most personable one there years ago but I don't think she works there anymore. My latest visit 2 days ago, we saw Dr. Martin for a quick visit. I found her to be abrupt and snappy and lacked compassion and bedside manner. She is young so it was almost like she was overcompensating to prove herself as a new doctor. Same with the vet tech. She looked upset, as though she were working against her will. After the appointment, I waited a long time to get the prescription slip which was apparently ready at the front desk but no one told me so I sat waiting in the exam room for 20 min for no reason. In the back, you can see there is alot going on. Very chaotic with animals, people cleaning and running around. Not my cup of tea.

All the staff have been great since the first time I started coming in with my cat Evita they have been kind, caring and responsive throughout my cat's healthcare journey. Dr. Corella and her staff have treated Evita as if she was their own pet. Though I have moved further away from this location I still make the drive to go here specifically. I have full trust in Dr. Corella and her staff to treat my pet with care and compassion

Not sure about doctors but service is just HORRIBLE! They do not respect their customers time! Got appointment 2 weeks ahead!! So 50 min to get there from Sunny Isles beach.. okay then at the register they did not mention that I had to wait about 50-70 min for a doctor!! Karl 50 min!!At this point they should have told me that they are running behind of the schedule which would be respectful! No they invited me into the room and I was sitting there 40 min then I had to go because I have planned my meetings and my day based on the apoitment time. I cannot just sit and wait for a doctor when I had my appointment done at a specific time. So ..And doctor never showed up! I just left and receptionist was like oh the doctor will be available at least in 20 min. So the wait time would be min 1 hour. Who does that? Respect peopleā€™s time! I just wasted 3 hour of my time and my dog didnā€™t get her check up. Never ever go there again. There are plenty of great vet places. So if you have nothing to do in your life then go and waste half of the day and pray to see a doctor!!

It took 2 weeks after a positive bacterial test result, for my dog to get proper treatment. The animal hospital failed to notify me within a few days as promised. When I confronted them, the reason they gave me was that the doc was out of town. If my doc is gone for a year, is my dog just supposed to die or be in pain the whole time? Unprofessional business. Unprofessional answer. Caca place. Never again.

RIKKO collapsed !!!!!!! Rikko is a 4 year old boxer dog šŸ¾ with heart failure problem . I'm here outside the VET animal hospital because Rikko collapsed. And Dr. MARTIN Rikko's doctor is not working today. And the other doctor said that she's not doing anything because the hospital closes in 10 minutes. Here's she's name because I don't know how she can call herself a doctor because I don't think she likes animals and I don't think she's a professional. I will report her. because this was incredible!!! better if She change her job because real doctors can't do what she did it. And she can't even do drainage too. ... HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT SHE WORKS AT THE VET HOSPITAL????? RACHEL JOHNSON ... ( THE HORRIBLE "DOCTOR") THE BEST DOCTOR IN THIS HOSPITAL IS DR. MARTIN!!!!! And of course the receptionists and nurses are very nice... but if Dr. MARTIN is not available, it is better if no one goes there.

Our pets are our family members and finding quality care during a stressful/emotional time can be difficult. I've had a HARD time finding a vet I like here in Miami but I just had a great experience with Dr. Funk and vet tech Kevin taking care of my cat. Our appt began on time (a rarity), communication was clear throughout, and the treatment plan was a discussion that wasn't a guilt trip or a money grab. Will absolutely return with my senior dog for future care.

I absolutely love the VCA Alton Road animal hospital for so many reasons. I feel that my dog is treated with the utmost care, attention and sensitivity. The doctors, techs and entire staff always go out of their way to help me, even when they are slammed and so busy, which is most of the time. My standard poodle, Drexel, is so comfortable with all of the staff members and they make him (and me) feel secure and loved. I want to give a special thank you to Michelle at the reception desk for going above and beyond to ensure Drexel was cared for and attended to promptly and properly. I greatly appreciate Michelleā€™s help to avoid any discomfort Drexel would have encountered and for accommodating his special needs. Thank you Michelle and the whole team from Elisa Gelb and our poodle Drexel šŸ©

A very good clinic, professional staff, provider a lot of helpful information and assistance to prepare paperwork for travel overseas. The first clinic I enjoyed 100%. Our dog is happy in Eastern Europe. Will miss this clinic. Thanks again!

The Veterinarians at VCA Alton have provided good care for my dog, and I am pleased with their work. The front desk staff, however, is a different story. Even though they are well-staffed, they are constantly disorganized and inefficient. Wait times in-person and on the phone are unnecessarily extended. Medications promised at a certain time are almost never ready. Most recently I called ahead to see if I could pick up probiotic. The front desk staff confirmed availability, and told me they would put it aside for me to pick up. Upon arrival just one hour later, I was informed that they had run out of the product well before my call. Just one more frustrating experience especially after walking over since parking at the location is a disaster.

VCA Alton Road is the best vet in Miami. Could the lighting and the waiting room use a refresh? Sure, absolutely. But the staff here is unmatched. My cavapoo had her leg painfully broken by a groomer when she was a puppy and as a result has extreme handling anxiety. Going to the vet is a really stressful experience for both of us. Dr Johnson has been such a gift. She connected us with an animal behaviorist and goes out of her way to do things to ensure Lenny has a positive experience every time. I was recently nervous to leave Lenny for her sedated grooming and Dr Johnson was amazingā€”she sent video updates, helped accommodate the time to make sure Len didnā€™t have to be alone there for too long, was just generally wonderful. Special shout out to Betty for making sure Lenny was calm and happy the whole time. I had a wonderful vet in Chicago and wasnā€™t sure Iā€™d find a match here. But VCA has far exceeded expectations. A gift.

This animal hospital is wonderful. They are open late and are so humane. You can tell they all really love animals. My dog was limping so I rushed her in as soon as possible. Dr. McKim did a thorough exam and saw her right away. I couldn't be more grateful for them seeing my pup so fast and being so kind through the worrying situation. This care is affordable, but most of all quality care. Superb staff. Thank you from Sasha and me!!!

Would recommend- My girlfriend and I took a cat that lives outside of our building. We made appointments but had to cancel twice because we had trouble catching the cat. The staff was very understanding about the cancellations. Finally we took her as a walk-in. The doctor was super friendly and easy to connect with, and the staff was very good too. The waiting room is comfortable and the patient room we were in was nice- clean and comfortable.

This is the ONLY place I trust with my dog. They are incredibly professional, so kind, and it's obvious that all of the employees truly love animals. I've always had a great experience there (any my dog is a rescue, and not necessarily easy). I also feel like they are very honest regarding billing, which can be rare at a veterinary office of animal hospital. Additionally, you can call to speak to a vet tech AND they have amazing hours. I found this place maybe 3-4 years ago, and even though it's a drive from me, it's worth it. Definitely recommend - they'll take the best care of your pet.

This place is great. I chose this animal hospital when I got my 8 week GSD. My vet was Dr. McKim who is amazing. Took her time to explain our new puppy journey to my bf & I. Made great recommendations and is so patient with owners questions. She is very calm and sweet. My puppy is always comfortable around her. Their vet assistants are also super sweet. I decided to also book my 8yr old cat an appointment here for a tooth extraction. My cat is not as friendly when in an uncomfortable situation such as a pet visit & he is a big, strong, chunky boy. He felt super comfortable with Dr. McKim, even laid on her paperwork and asked for cuddles. I feel secure taking my pets there & I'm happy I found this place. Prices seem relatively fair for the area and compared to other vet locations in Miami. Overall, I'm happy with the service & that my pets are safe & taken care of.

Dr. Anamercy Martin is great!!! She did more for my pets than the first two vets (not at VCA who wasted time and $$$). The staff is great and friendly. My cat was really sick and when I called, they had no appointments available for about a week. I emailed the the Dr and she took her dinner break time to see my cat the same day. For my sick dog, I would email the Dr all the time (with photos and so) and she would promptly respond as we tried to get to the bottom as to what was making him sick as we tried different meds to help him.
