This is my husband and my third home for several years now. Close to South Beach, Hard Rock Stadium etc. Great service, clean spacious rooms that lead out to pool court yard. Boutiques and restaurants close by within walking distance. The restaurant and bar within hotel serves up fantastic food. This is a must if you like a quiet piece paradise.

Very nice open and common spaces, customer service is excellent, clean rooms, although it always smelled musty, many guests did not comply with the rules and bad behavior was seen in the corridors. the sport bar felt a nice atmosphere, the hotel has very good internal and external restaurants and fences, open areas and beautiful gardens. the rear parking lot had me worried

Great stay! Quiet rooms. A bit outdated but still comfortable and clean. Nice Spanish tiles. Beautiful grounds with lush landscaping. Pool was clean. Great rooms with private entrances in to courtyard and pool area. Service was good. Don’t waste your money on the breakfast buffet! Eggs were cold, nothing better than typical hotel breakfast buffet. Not worth the money. Great location, parking was free, tons of restaurants and shops within walking distance.

Nope don't do it. I know the price looks ok but don't. Outside looks just like the photos inside does not at all. Room was damp, smelt moldy, sheets were wet. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling off the wall. First night there went to get into the bed sheets were beyond damp and wet. Tried to call the front desk the phone was broken. I walked down ( there elevator was also broken) talked to them they said housekeeping has left for the day and all the can do is give me the sheets to put on myself. I took the sheets made the bed myself. The next day I asked if they could please look at our room as it's damp. They told me just keep the AC on and it would be fine. Our clothes became damp in the draws, and each day the sheets continued to be damp. Go anywhere else but here please.

So one morning while in bed I hear voices on our balcony and I go look and it’s men on the balcony painting. I goto the front desk to inquire about the failure to notify customers of this via signage or verbal during check in. The front desk personnel tried to contact the manager via phone he didn’t answer. Then an employee walks a few feet over to the managers office and according to the employee the manager has instructed the employees that they are to only tell guests about maintenance if they ask but don’t mention it during check in. The manager didn’t even come out of his office to address me. The employee did comp us breakfast though. I just wanted to share how the manager is a poor manager and leader.

The hotel stay was for my niece who was coming from a cruise celebrating her anniversary. I was very impressed with check in personnel, she congratulated my nice for her anniversary and gave us all info on hotel parking, etc. As I helped with the luggage, room was clean and very nice. Nice view of the pool area. Hotel located on Main St which has restaurants and some stores, as well as a movie theater all within walking distance. This was a perfect location for someone coming in from out of town. Pricing is good and will definitely consider on next time having family in town. Thanks MLH team.

Customer service was nice, she checked us in right away and pointed where our room was located. But that’s where it ended. For the rate I paid for 1 night I would expect cleaner floors for one. For two, if you had a dislike of other peoples hair **this is not the place for you!!** the towels had hair ALL over them, the sheets had hair ALL over them and their cheap blankets had hair ALL over them. They need to put less things in the washer and dryer and it would remove more of the hair. I haven’t been in the toilet/shower area yet, but I’m honestly scared to see what it looks like. The TV is tiny, which may not be a big deal to some unless the weather is bad and you have to stay in. I will not be staying here again and I don’t plan on referring them to anyone i like.

this hotel wasn’t bad, out dated yes. The fact they don’t something as simple as microwaves in the rooms and i was just reading you have to rent them i think is hilarious. i just know better and know they took the microwaves out to have you go eat at their restaurant. but i’m a person of routine and i eat what i know and like. so yeah kind of a low blow. BUT the staff was nice and i respect that very much…. a hustle is a hustle but your guys should have microwaves in the room. just a thought

Have spent many nights here on business. Very comfortable beds and unique atmosphere. Easy walk to some great restaurants. Spent to many hours in the bar on several occasions with workmates after hours. Great incredible memories at least what I remember.

I wasn't sure what to think when I first saw the hotel. It was a bit old fashioned but with a tropical twist. It feels very much like hotels in the Caribbean. There is a gorgeous courtyard overlooked by the balcony in my block of rooms. The rooms themselves were very no frills and a bit drab. A noisy old fashioned a/c unit was a bit hard to get used to. The shower was also dated and the bed squeaked. The restaurant on property is a lively sports bar with friendly staff and as many screens as anyone could ask for. The hotel is located near the Miami Lakes shopping center which should offer some options for those who choose to explore the area. An enjoyable stay.

Everything about this hotel was excellent for me. I looked at some of the reviews some people gave and it was discouraging to the point I almost canceled. Thank God I didn't and came to this beautiful place, everything is nice and convenient. I saved money staying here and they could easily charge more money and it would be justifiable. Totally satisfied and happy 😊

I really liked the hotel once we actually got our room. Very nice scenery around hotel but the weather was bad and we didn't get any pictures. The cleaning staff took to long to clean the rooms so even at 3, they still weren't clean, waited till 4 for actual check in and it still wasn't ready. We got checked in around 420, I just think the cleaning staff needs to be more attentive and finished cleaning at a certain time but definitely worth my stay. I will return.

I was truly disappointed with this hotel. I had wanted to stay here for as long as I could remember but I was seriously let down. The people who work in the front desk either need training in hospitality or to be fired. These employees were the most unhappy, rude and very dry people I have ever met in my life. Rooms were decent but i found food wrappers underneath the bed. I was lucky enough to have a view of the pool with a very nice balcony which was the only redeeming quality besides the TV. Bed was uncomfortable and bathrooms need a serious upgrade. I invited my sister for a few hours and the hotel staff at the front desk treated her horribly. They kept asking her if she was there for delivery despite being on the phone with me telling me she had arrived. The front desk staff handed her a map and told her to walk all around the hotel just to get to my room like if she was some kind of second-class citizen not being let in through the front of the Hotel. Also, this hotel must owe FPL money as the hotel at night is VERY DARK. Both my sister and i felt very uncomfortable. Getting an Uber/Lyft at night here is very annoying as the drivers are unable to locate the Hotel being that there is no lighting. I called the front desk just to see if there was a problem with the lights in the place in which the front desk replied "we will speak to the engineers. " What kind of answer is that? Hotels are supposed to well-lit and inviting. Sadly, I did not feel that way during my stay at the Miami Lakes Hotel. 5 stars for the location as it is in the prime Miami Lakes location. Restaurant inside is also very good if you don't want to leave the premises. Other than that, i wouldn't book again.

Staying here because my house is getting renovated. Only on night 2 of being here and already had to deal with dried blood stains on my toilet which was NOT cleaned. The smell of cigarettes coming in through my room which is non smoking may I add. And the fire alarm has gone off for the 4th tonight. It has been like this since 2am, its currently 3:40am. Not the hotel that it used to be. Especially for what your paying for a night.

I really liked staying here. Very convenient to everything in the area. The room was clean and maintained daily. The pool and outside area is really nice. There is plenty of parking. Access to the athletic club came with the room, really nice.

I won’t recommend this place. They canceled our reservation at the last minute and we were notified about that after we arrived in the hotel in the late night. We made reservation weeks ahead for a 2-nights-stay during the memorial holiday on Booking.com and got the confirmation right after. We thought we would be good and planned to checkin after dinner on that day. However, when we arrived in the hotel, we were notified that our reservation has got canceled beaches the payment didn’t get processed. They claimed that they tried to call me earlier in the afternoon to confirm with us. But I missed that call since we just got off a long flight and was busy then. So they just directly canceled our reservation. THEY DID NOT EVEN LEAVE A VOICE MAIL! It was already 11:00 pm in the night. All the hotels around were full for the holiday weekend. VERY HARD TO FIND A ROOM THEN! We might have to sleep in the car! We were the lucky ones that we were able to find a hotel 40min drive away. But since it was the last-minute-booking, the room rate was fairly high. In a nutshell, if you choose to stay in this hotel, you might need to be prepared for the late notification that you don’t have a room.

Nice lobby, nice restaurant. It was always freezing in lobby so could not sit and enjoy common areas. Bed WAS awful. Huge dip in middle so I spent both nights trying not to roll onto my hubby that had already rolled into hole (room 2205) 🙃 needs major updating. In room amenities were sub par. Older small TV. For price point probably could get slightly better room.

Sticky room floor with visible spills. Room fridge was loud and clunky all night. Super loud hallways, room doors automatically slam shut and apparently no one knows how to shut them quietly. ALL night long. Not at all what we expected for the price. Upside: Staff at the desk was very nice, allowed us to check in early as the room was ready. Bed was very comfortable.

Tile wood floors is a bit strange for a hotel room in my opinion. I guess they’re easier to tell if they’re clean. The room had all the expected amenities, was clean and quiet.

The room is basically ok. There is a severe shortage of hot water around here. Had none on arrival mid-day. Service man came promptly to make some adjustments to my sink and hot water magically appeared. It also magically disappeared the next morning. The breakfast scrambled eggs were exceptionally runny and the rest of the buffet was...meh. The hallways are VERY noisy and the room isn't quiet at all. This isn't the best place in town to stay, but probably not the worst, either.

The location is extremely wonderful just perfect, the front desk staff is very very pleasant especially the young lady who works during the day , special mention to Mr. Soreno , Dana and the event catering staff. I just love the place and will come back again God's will. My guests list for my event loved it.

I've have stayed at this hotel several times when I come to Miami for a concert or any event. Never had any issues until I was here last month and was really disappointed. The hot water barely works, the breakfast was VERY basic,I would've had a better meal at McDonald's . A vivid description on how bad the quality is. Lately, this hotel is giving below 3tier. After this experience Im debating to take this hotel off the lineup for future stays.

Great place to stay and a great price! Very friendly and accommodating staff even though it was Christmas and they had to work. The area around the motel was nice as well and Christmas decorations were beautiful!

    - the staff, specifically Enrique, have been exceptionally well trained when we arrived at the hotel after a long day of flight delays. Going above and beyond during our short stay - the room is quiet and with good air conditioning. The room was found in good condition and spacious

Great hotel that was slightly outdated. For example the building itself, bathrooms and pool was a little old and could use updating. That being said it was a great hotel extremely close to a bunch of food with great staff. I was happy with my stay and would return here.

We had a trip with my friends last week and we decided to spent our night at your Hotel. It was one of the most comfortable and least expensive in our journey. We were so shocked when we saw our room because it was very cleaned and organized. What a nice to relax. We would definitely stay again! Thank a lot!

I was not mistaken about choosing this Hotel for my night stay. I am lucky that I found this place right away. Great interior from the outside until the inside part! The dining area was spacious. The lounge bar serves good mixed drinks. The best of the best Hotel ever! Try their services and you won’t regret it for sure.

A very friendly welcoming place to spend a couple of nights. All personnel are very well trained, accommodating and helpful (all done with a smile). Everything was handled with efficiency and attention to every detail was given. The food was delicious, and the view was wonderful while dining. Thanks for doing such an outstanding job to make my stay so pleasurable!

Stayed here for about a month before I couldn't take it anymore. For a hotel with an excellent reputation and amazing location, THERE WAS ALWAYS SOMETHING WRONG. I travel a lot for business and never have I ever had such bad experiencs with a hotel. The lights were blinking because the person before me obviously pulled the the electrical box out of the wall, intense mold smell in one of my rooms(had to be moved after finding the mold), very noisy at night, the plumbing is horrible and the toilet were problematic, the rooms were musky because they couldn't control the humidity, the elevators were extremely slow and if you're not near one you will be taking a long walk or the stairs. I will say that the staff was nice, but overall I would not go here again. After telling my coworkers about my experience and hearing their stories about this hotel, I wouldn't recommend the reader stay here either.

Had the pleasure of staying for 3 nights! The hotel was beautiful, lovely area and convenient location. There’s a CVS nearby for any last minute store runs. During my visit, I enjoyed the pool area, the outdoor patio near the pool has a lovely lake. I absolutely loved the gym the most. It was very spacious with multiple levels. They also have a restaurant on site where you have the option to sit at the bar as well. They have TVS you can also watch while eating. I order penne pasta and enjoyed it a lot! I would recommend this hotel as the price is unbeatable, I stayed during busy Memorial Day weekend. Front desk staff provided great service. As it was a very busy weekend I appreciate the patience. The room did have a smell to it and it the bed sheets were very dated and old. The bathroom also needs updating however if you plan to be outdoors majority of your trip the room isn’t too bad. I chose not to complain as the service was great! It was a spacious room than most hotel rooms.

Ok so first we checked in 05/12-05/14 we had to pay and $100 deposit something I’ve NEVER heard of at all ! The room service don’t come with breakfast we have to pay for it the rooms don’t come with an microwave AT ALL we had to go downstairs to try and use and microwave the man at the desk told us “we can send one up for $10 a NIGHT” remind you not I told him we are leaving at two in the morning you just can’t warm up my pops food he told us “no you can try going to the restaurant” the rooms don’t look nothing how the pictures look we had an king size room with only one lil chair and a rolling chair the view is not what they said it was the strip they have beside the hotel is nothing at all you will have to drive 30 mins out just to see anything I just feel like this hotel is over hyped they charging you so much to stay there when you don’t even get free breakfast gotta pay $16.95 per PERSON I would never stay here again and if your not Mexican they don’t really understand what your saying or even care to figure it out your better off staying at best western or something and the parking is HORRIBLE

We liked this hotel BUT 1. Reserved a room with a balcony. Arrived to find that we were not given a balcony, instead we were given a “patio”. Not the same. Our request to be moved to a balcony was denied 2. Woken at 6:30 am by staff in the hallway making an absolute racket for 30 minutes 3. There has been someone power washing the pool area since 8:45. Extremely loud. Not exactly relaxing.

We are originally from Miami and moved out of town so we came down to visit family. Our plans had changed so we booked the same day at an affordable price. We walked in and the hotel looked really nice from the inside. It was a little tough to locate but nothing serious. We were greeted warmly by the receptionist. We walked into our room and I liked the layout of the hotel and it did feel good when we were getting settled. The floors were wet in the room but we assumed they had just been mopped. It was freezing for us when we walked in so I raised the temperature from 60 degrees to 76 degrees which is the temperature I prefer. We left for dinner and came back two hours later, and the floors were still wet. We thought it was odd but again we didn’t really pay attention to it. We went to bed, and when we woke up… you guessed it… wet floors, wet ceiling, wet walls. I awoke at 530am due to someone yelling in the halls. That was going on for quite some time. We had planned on checking out early because we had things to do so I figured I would mention it to the receptionist during checkout. The guy at the counter in the morning did not seen like he cared about his job at all. Not warm at all. His name was Mac. Some people have bad days at work so I looked past it. I told him about the condensation, and he asked if I had turned off the AC. I said I had adjusted it, and he said that “in this weather, the ac will do that to the room when turned off” basically implying that its my fault that we had a wet room. I could have argued but I didn’t feel like it. We are from Miami and have lived here for 20 years. Yes, it may be hotter now then it was five years ago but I had never heard or seen anything like that from a fully functioning ac. I kept on with my day since we had plans. Later on, I was looking through reviews, and it seems that this is a common problem. We had reserved through third party and another reviewer had mentioned that the manager told them they couldn’t do anything for compensation due to being booked through a third party. I could have called the manager but based on the reviews, I doubt anything would have been done. I really wanted to like this place but due to many things , it was not meant to be. My kids also wanted to jump into the pool at sunrise but they are picky and said the pool was filthy.. I give a generous 2 stars because I enjoyed the layout and the staff when we checked in was nice, but we won’t be coming back.

The hotel was oversold and the night audit attendant was rude. We called to tell her we would be late to check-in and no one answered. Once we arrived, she expressed to us that management oversold the hotel by 10 rooms. Our room was booked in July and we arrived on November 4th. We were traveling from SC.There were no accommodations or effort to make other arrangements. We then had to travel 15 minutes for another hotel further from our work conference. Will not book with them again.

I am stunned by the high rating this hotel has. Upon arrival the room smelled very strongly of cleaning products, as if they are trying to cover up a foul smell. The hotel definitely needs some updating (especially the bathrooms in the rooms). I stayed in a “pool view” room, the view was horrible and there isn’t much to look at as the pool isn’t anything out of this world. The nicest part of the hotel were the wood room keys. Had never seen that before and I must say it is a nice touch. Other than that, nothing impressed me. The WORST part however is that before 8am I was awoken by loud music and yelling in the pool area. Excuse me, what? How dare the hotel allow this behavior to go on so early in the morning? I couldn’t believe that such a “prestigious” hotel did not tell these individuals anything. Very disappointed and I will NEVER be staying here again.

Only complaint I have is that the fire alarm went off each morning at 7AM! Everything else was great. Everyone was nice, rooms were clean and cold. Lovely hotel!

I remember when this was the Don Shula hotel. I grew up just a few blocks from here and it was so cool to stay here. It still is, this was a wonderful experience. The housekeeping was great, the room was comfortable, and that bed was the best sleep I've had on this trip. The front desk was perfect. Raphael was kind, courteous, and charming. From the point where I checked in all the way to my check out. The Miami lakes hotel was trying to make my trip that much better. Next time I come to south Florida I'll be coming here again.

I have been staying here for years, but never again, I had to spend my vacation taking cold showers cause there was almost no hot water. When i complained they sent someone to say the problem was the hot water heater was on the roof. I let the water run to see if it would get hot and at most it got less than freezing. Never again.

The parking is very confusing if you're checking in at night. But the evening front desk attendant was WONDERFUL, super accommodating and professional and very nice. My favorite part of the room was the terrace feature🤩

I have quite a bit to say. I usually keep my reviews short and sweet. But not today. I came to Miami Lakes Hotel for a short vacation from work. The Property itself is Very Beautiful. When we arrived in the lobby area we were greeted by the man behind the counter. He didn't really seem like the Customer Service type of guy. He seemed annoyed a bit or was that his personality? Anyway, it didn't seem welcoming.. The building itself was kind of hard to find because the building doesn't have any symbols on the outside to let you know that you're actually at a Miami Lakes Hotel location. We spent 30 minutes looking for our room. We finally found the building and our room. We paid for a room with a balcony but was given a Terrace suite instead that leads directly to the swimming pool area. We were going to asked to get switched to the room we paid for but we just stayed to see if we would like it. We later found out that's a noisy room. 1st of all there is a Table right outside of the room (near pool area) which is about 4ft away from the patio area. At night a table of about 8 people was talking loud til dark. The next day atq 8am in the morning a man sat alone at that same table and was talking on the phone very loud I feel like the table table was too close to the patio area and you can here people, which can possibly wake you up. The room was Clean. The sheets and towels were changed. The garden area is very beautiful. We did swim in the pool but didn't use the exercise facility & etc . We didn't get to order food from Restaurant connected to the restaurant. Maybe next time The wooden room keys were cool to use. I would love to visit again for a longer stay but hopefully the concierge would be HAPPY and the correct room would be assigned.

Staying at the room is a great experience until we checked out and realized we left our air pods. We called the hotel and they said no one has checked in the room since we checked out. They reported to house keeping and no one has seemed to turn them in. However we are able to track them and see they are in the Hialeah area. We are aware the the hotel keeps track of which housekeeper cleans which rooms and they weren’t helpful with trying to help us figure out who it was. The air pods left the property and went to a residential area where we are headed to retrieve our personal belongings which most likely left with a staff member

Rooms are semi nice kind of dated. No microwave in rooms and no public microwave. If you would like to rent a microwave it will cost 10 dollars. Free bottle of water in room.

Hotel is pretty nice. The rooms are big and comfortable with effective air con. The bathroom smelt a little damp but it was clean and the water was hot. It feels like an 1980s hotel that’s been partially updated. The outside area is really nice, the hotel’s best feature. The Miami Lakes area feels safe with plenty of restaurants and other amenities. The accommodation was part of a booking with Princess Cruises. If you are booked to stay here, I would say it’s a good place to stay.

Checked in. Went to room. The smell of mold/mildew was overwhelming. Went to front desk. They apologized. We were assigned another room. No smell. The bed was extremely soft, seemed to be an old mattress, and very difficult to sleep in as my body fell into what seemed like a hole. Would not stay there again.

We have been coming to Miami since 1981 for the dolphin games. We stayed at Miami lakes hotel for the first time and had a great time. The rooms were excellent. The staff was very friendly and did a great job making our stay enjoyable. Great restaurants and shops walking distance from your room. It doesn't matter if it's your first time to Miami or you're 41st time to Miami can't go wrong staying at Miami lakes hotel. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
