I met Connie through a family member. I confess it took some time to admit I needed counseling, but I also needed a reason to commit (one of my issues). In addition, counseling needed to be affordable. Connie met my criteria. I chose Connie for her no-nonsense, yet compassionate, approach to counseling. When I need to hear something, she says it. I may not like to hear it, but I need to hear it. I appreciate Connie’s ability to share her own stories within the context of our session. She doesn’t compare, she shares a lesson. Connie was very receptive to my needs, and accommodating with her scheduling. We worked together to find a day and time to have regular sessions. I continue counseling with Connie, especially through these trying times. I look forward to, and find comfort in, my sessions. I have begun to discover more positive ways to deal with my struggles, find my strengths, build myself up and follow a path that gives me the confidence and ability to deal with the everyday trials and tribulations. I denied myself counseling because, “I don’t need it”, “counseling never works”, “it’s too expensive”. Well, I do need counseling, I do get something out of it, and it is affordable. I am grateful for Connie. She is a good counselor. She cares – she focuses on the issues, and she listens well. Connie is worth reaching out to and scheduling an appointment. Tell her I sent you. 😉

My husband and I became parenting grandparents of our three grandchildren eleven years ago. We sought counseling to help us deal with our fractured family, and the loss we all felt. We had two counselors before transferring to Connie due to insurance coverage changes, and although the other counselors were very helpful, our grandchildren quickly felt comfortable and safe to share everything with her. Connie takes a very positive and engaging interpersonal approach in her therapeutic relationships. I love the homework assignments and goal setting methods she uses each week with each one of us! These are very effective and quite fun! Connie addresses the tough issues with compassion and our family is grateful for having found such a professional and caring therapist.

Ms Connie came into my life at a time where I had no guidance or insight on the trauma of addiction, abuse and neglect that I was feeling and all while trying to raise little children. She counseled myself, my daughter and my son. I started that sentence with myself because that’s where my journey started. She was compassionate, endearing and so smart. The perspective I have gained from years of her counseling has been so powerful in my life. My son has struggled with ADHD for years and without her I would not have seen how amazing he is or how the world - most likely, doesn’t understand him. She taught me the tricks” to staying calm and being the parent I needed to be for him. My daughter, 17 years old now seeks her ought on her own, she is the person she reaches out to when she cannot get anyone else to understand her. How amazing that Ms. Connie is someone my daughter can trust that will guide her in the direction of love and light. The results of her counseling are unmeasurable. My children and I continue to grow using all that she has taught us. I have so many relatives and friends that seek her guidance because the emotion of gratitude and grace is real. Thank you Ms. Connie. Where would we be without you? (Please forgive any grammatical typos).

There is a reason the reviews are all positive. I could right a short novel on how Connie has changed my life and helped me on this journey to recovery. So I will try to briefly state some of my issues in the hopes it will help others to seek help and not wait 20+ years like I did. I have been on this recovery journey for 8 months now. As I found out there is no quick cure for a lifetime of problems and issues. I also well know it will take me years to recover from childhood trauma, PTSD, anxiety and so many other issues. Nevertheless, I can finally take a breath and a sigh of relief. I am learning and trying to correct myself and Connie has been my compass in the storm. I had hit rock bottom emotionally and honestly I did not know why. I knew my childhood, my having cancer twice, my divorce and so many other things had affected me emotionally but I did not realize to what extent. Last October of 2021 I went to my Primary Dr because I could not stop crying for days and I was having PTSD of my past trauma. I was given a prescription and also a suggestion to find a therapist. I found Connie. While I had my walls up, she made me feel safe. She listened and offered support and skills to help me. Connie has a gift of being very empathetic and making you feel heard and understood. We all need this. I thank God for her help. I feel a great weight lifted off my shoulders and hope to be a better person for my family and most of all for myself. I am learning to love me. Thank you Connie for all the care, patience and knowledge you share. I hope you can help many people find themselves and find some measure of peace like you helped me find. Eternally grateful.

I came to Allgood Counseling after many years of try to deal with complex trauma on my own and I was losing that battle - I felt alone and hopeless and I knew if I didn't get help things would only continue to get worse. The problem with getting professional help though is that it is often very expensive and difficult to schedule when you work the same hours as the therapists. Luckily, I came across Connie Allgood and found someone who not only makes therapy accessible but who I am comfortable opening up to and I know she is listening and she cares. Thanks to Connie I have been able to get to the root of the issue and start to work through it in just a few months. I feel like I'm finally pointed in the right direction, and the fact that she has made it so accessible means I can continue to to get the help I need and improve my life.

I am a better version of myself through Connie’s therapy. I did EMDR after sometime of in office therapy. I addressed childhood events that created my feelings and responses throughout my entire life, that effected every area of my life. The EMDR has changed my thought and mental responses. After many years of sobriety, years of working with other therapists, being guided by Connie in EMDR and her other skills MY LIFE HAS CHANGED. I am so grateful for Connie. Thank you so much for you Connie. I recommend Connie almost every day, we all need support and she is mine.

2021 has been the most trying year my family and I have ever experienced. We have had three family funerals back-to-back in a six month period. In addition, we have had several ongoing family mental health challenges. Connie has been a blessing to our family during these very hard times. Connie has been wonderful personally and excellent professionally in her advice guiding our family. Connie’s insight has been amazing and has warranted multiple referrals to friends and other family members. I highly recommend Connie Allgood to you!

Connie has been a literal life changer for me. I was in an extremely dark place in my life. My family was deeply concerned. When I met Connie it was great connection from the start. I had my skepticism toward therapy. But she made me a believer. Connie is very approachable and has a way of making anything relatable for you see thing differently. She is extremely funny and personable. The techniques and methods she employed with me were amazing and again life changing. Through my time with her not only did I find a way out of my darkness but also a whole new way to see the world, which has made my over all experience with life more enjoyable. My relationships with my family and son is much better. And for the first time in a long time I am just genuinely happy over all. And I owe it all to Connie.

After going through countless therapists with no luck in feeling better, I found Connie. She was immediately able to identify that I suffered from trauma and recommended EMDR Therapy. EMDR was definitely a game changer in terms of seeing myself and my past situations in a different light. We were able to process my past traumas so that they don't cloud my present perspective as much and I feel less tied down from the weight of my past. Connie is funny and very straightforward (which I love, no BS). I am continuing my therapy journey with her :)

Yesterday I bought something that I haven’t purchased in over 20 years….nail polish. Sounds simple right? However, I’ve been nervously picking my skin on my fingers since I was 4. So, I always hide my hands. I did EMDR with Connie and regular therapy and now I’m no longer picking after 42 years Amazing….Connie and EMDR. Thank you
