👍👍 It was a lovely way to spend an hour with the kids. They loved it. The volunteers keep the place clean and take good care of the animals. Cindy was especially great, showing us a couple owls close up. The woman who fed the pelicans was so nice and very informative! I can't remember her name unfortun... It was a lovely way to spend an hour with the kids. They loved it. The volunteers keep the place clean and take good care of the animals. Cindy was especially great, showing us a couple owls close up. The woman who fed the pelicans was so nice and very informative! I can't remember her name unfortunately. There are a few picnic tables in a shaded area, close to the birds so you can watch them while you eat. It is very small, only a few large cages with permanently injured turtles and birds of prey on display for educational purposes in their forever home. Everything is done by volunteers and paid for by donations. Nice refuge off the beaten path for learning through nature and creation appreciation time. It's great that they allow the public to come through, and encourage you to take your time. The rest of the animals that get released after rehab are hidden. It's a great facility and operation they are running!

Called about a turtle that was given to us (purchased at a Pet store as a tiny turtle.. grew to quite large) from a family who could not keep it.. I called the Wildlife center and spoke to a pleasant woman who told me they would rehabilitate turtle and teach it to thrive in the wild and would welcome the Pumps and water cleaning supplies I had purchased for the animal while in my care. When I arrived at Center a week or so later, the woman in charge at the time, who did not identify herself, looked me up and down, gave a long glance at the automobile I had driven up in and told me she had No idea who I had spoken to and that she would likely toss the Turtle in the waterway adjacent to the Center. In addition, she wanted nothing to do with the equipment, but took the food (I had purchased extra so as not to have the Center incur costs of feeding the animal as it learned to care for itself in anticipation of being released into the wild). She suggested I drop the equipment off at a fish store. I was very sad to leave the poor animal and am still worried that it just got "tossed" into the waterway next to the center. I hope she found her way to a more sympathetic volunteer. On another note, I was not driving my automobile, but a friend's... the takeaway here is You should not judge a book by it's cover.. I was compliant, cooperative, polite and respectful of the Staff / Volunteers instructions... I will no longer donate to this organization, there are a lot of organizations out there needing funds post Pandemic... Sad, I have been a member since moving to the area.

We had a very large honey bee nest along a canal in Port St. Lucie,Fl. It was on city property. Through the Public Works Dept. they got Jay to remove it. The nest and bees were safely and competently removed and taken to a new home for agricultural use.

My children and I love animals and they are doing such a great job rehabbing and taking care of the the forever homed animals they have. The staff and volunteers were so nice and knowledgeable. Letting the kids see two owl species up close and learning more about them and even how they became injured. Will be back and continue to give donations to help this amazing place close to home!

I bought a Morning Dove, with a broken wing. They took care of the Dove, right away. I pulled up, rolled down my car window, completed a form. It was a busy day, as there were about 4 cars ahead of me. I delivered/rescued the Dove, and it was quick, 5 minutes, the most. I would highly recommend

Had a beautiful experience visiting the Treasure Coast Wildlife Center today with my sister. Tim has a beautiful energy and an amazing way to share his experience and knowledge. He gave us a tour, told us stories about the animal in the center, and shared a lot of información with us, we left the center very motivated and interested in getting more involved and in helping wildlife animals and fantastic places like this. Thank you so much Tim and everyone who makes this possible!

Amazing facility run by people who really care. We found an adolescent yellow belly sapsucker that fell out of its nest (momma bird no where to be found for hours). We took this bird to Treasure Coast Wildlife Center and we know the bird is in healing hands.

The staff here are the kindest people. I saved a red shoulder hawk from the middle of a highway in middle of nowhere POLK county. I called and staff was prepared to stay overtime on the weekend to relieve and care for this majestic bird. I'm so happy they help in this hawks journey to recovery.

My son, my granddaughters and myself went to this wildlife center. We have lived in Florida for over 30 years I have never encountered also being an animal, conservationist, wildlife, enthusiast! And many degrees in biology. I was dismayed to see the harsh conditions to which the birds were living. All of the several birds were tied up by the legs on purchase all together in one cage. I don’t see how they ever flew only merely to possibly take out and show there was no one available the day that I was there to do a tour. They advertised as they had alligators. They said there was one alligator in the pond on the property of which we could not see in one baby one in a small Tupperware enclosure. I worked with seminal Indians and had my own wildlife sanctuary in Boynton Beach. So I know how to take care of animals , for all the donations, this treasure coast must receive would certainly allow them to build more cages and more suitable ones, and not to have all the birds tied up. I saw we saw pathetically a bald eagle, so sad as he was tied to the floor of the cage. I asked one of the care workers, he said that it was his for his own good that he’s old. Where is this rehabilitation? There were snakes and a locked up enclosure that you cannot even see through I don’t even know how I would wanna get in there to look at them. And the young caregiver couldn’t give any answers. The tortoises, which were far too many to just show as a sanctuary could’ve very easily been let go in the acreage of woods surrounding it as they are native to this area they did not need to be kept in small enclosures. This is supposedly not a zoo, but a sanctuary! Needless to say, when we left, we were all somewhat dumbfounded and disappointed even my four year old and my eight year old granddaughter, and their young lives, could not understand why all the birds were all chained up I don’t know what their reasoning was I would never go back, and I don’t understand how people enjoyed themselves here as they might not have ever experienced a true giving sanctuary! .
