Randomly run into an impressive exhibition and a courtyard brunch during the Art Basel. Friendly staff and cool artworks.

I was surprised! Very nice museum and a great collection. It was pleasure to see many big names in contemporary art. Free admission (at least at my visit in late April 2022). Good lighting and set up. Conveniently located in the design district. I will visit again next time I am in Miami. If you live in Miami area this place should be definitely on your list to visit frequently. Helpful docents too.

A hidden gem in design district. From the love for art of the De La Cruz family, the collection of modern art is very curated and spam on three floors. Free entrance, just register upon entering. A great indoor activity in Miami

A hidden gem for art lovers! This private collection is FREE and offers a lovely atmosphere where one feels at home, you knock on the door to get in (like you knock on your neighbors door). Each staff member is an artist or works in the field and is knowledgeable about every piece of art in the collection (from pricing, to when it was bought by the family, to what the artist is trying to to express in their work). The family is also actively involved. A must visit for collectors, students, artists and all others! Thanks to the de la Cruz family for making a lovely contribution to the City of Miami for all to enjoy!

Great experience. Interesting collections. As I asked who is de la Cruz… the couples were standing right in front of me. They were talking to visitors. So very down to earth!

Love contemporary art. A young man did follow us around(I assume for security purposes) but he talked about many of the pieces and answered any questions we had, so I loved him being there. Also they let us stay 30 mins after they closed because we got there late. I want to go back to spend more time!

This visit was a complete surprise. Never would have imagined entering the discrete front gate to discover such an incredible museum. Thank you De la Cruz Family for sharing your impressive contemporary art collection in such a magnificent place.

This art gallery is always worth visiting. It has 3 floors of quite an array of diverse modern art. This exhibit was supposed to be new. It was in part but still had past art still displayed. It was all good nonetheless. It's free so well worth the visit. An museum art parking garage available very reasonably priced. Avoid weekend crowds is my advice.

Amazing experience! This place has an incredible collection; it has a little of everything you wonder about. Artists that you may have never heard about whose art is astonishing, very refreshing and engaging. Everyone who works here are very passionate and knowledgeable about every single piece of art. Is free to the public!

Before you go, make sure to read about the programs for young artists funded by Rosa and Carlos de la Cruz. Besides the generosity shown by this couple in sharing their private collection with the public for free, they are also very involved in supporting the local art community. The building per se is a work of art, the staff is kind and extremely knowledgeable, and the array of pieces is noteworthy. They have a DalĂ in the top floor with some fascinating family history. A pleasure to visit.

It’s beautiful, it’s free, it’s great! Honestly, I like it here more than the ICA next door. Ray stayed with us the whole time and answered all the questions we had, informed us about the art. It was a really really cool thing to do while in Miami.

I literally gasped and audibly said”wow”when I was let it. You have to pre register before being let in, hahaha, more like a club with a guest list than a museum. An amazing collection fills an amazing space, curated in a way that feels like an installation. It’s jaw dropping. This museum encapsulates the awe inspiring Design District. Am I in Miami or Dubai?

Really nice collection, display, and experience! I enjoyed my visit very much and ended up staying longer than expected. I especially appreciated the guides/ interns--they were engaging, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I recall great conversations with Hayden (spelling?) and Marco in particular but all of them were super.

This museum was easily the highlight of my Miami trip. It is free, the docents are so nice and knowledgeable, and I even got to take art home for free, including posters and candy.

This place had an extra ordinary collection but I did not feel like I could truly enjoy the art because of the staff. It felt like I’d stepped into a high security room where my every move was monitored. I did not feel comfortable because I always felt like eyes were watching me. I probably will not go here again because of the experience but the art is definitely worth viewing.

This is a hidden gem! We weren't able to get into The Institute of Contemporary Art so we decided to give this place a try. So glad we did!

It's been a surprise to discover such a wonderful collection of contemporary art with unique pieces such as Tamayo, Orozco and Lowman, just to name some of the amazing experts. Don't miss to visit this exceptional place.

This place offer a more personal take on the standard museum experience. You are invited to walk through the staff library and engage with the collectors. We loved it. Thank you!

We enjoyed a lovely visit to this collection and would certainly recommend it to others. Not only is it a beautiful space with a tastefully curated collection—The staff and their organization/coordination (and resulting hospitality) was outstanding! I can’t easily recall another museum/gallery experience that offered such attentive and informed docents. Each person we engaged with was very present and offered interesting tidbits and insights into the pieces we discussed. We even felt very welcome with our 2 1/2 year-old (and stroller) in tow! It was clear that the staff took a genuine interest in the art and in sharing it with others. Not to be missed, if you are in the area!

What a fantastic learning experience! I don't know contemporary art and now I have a lot to learn. The gallery monitors are an encyclopedia of information about each piece and they're so friendly. You need to ask questions to understand this art and they have the answers. Talk to Anthony on the 3rd floor and ask questions, he's full of knowledge and obviously wants you to have a good visit. To the people who say they follow you around the galleries, of course they do you newbie. They do this in every museum all over the world. They have to make sure you behave but they also want to help you appreciate the art.

👍👍 Loved absolutely every minute that I spent here. Tickets are cheaper during the weekday which was nice. Also don’t discount the family ticket which for the price of 2 adults gets you 2 adults and 4 children. The initial part of the exhibition is good with multiple paintings and good background info...
