Excellent location to visit and learn hands-on about nature and how to protect it. It has a natural trail with lots of native plants, the trail takes you to be beach. Inside the building there is a great seashells collection and a very special exhibit of the life and accomplishments of our heroine Marjory Stoneman Douglas. Naturalist/guides are very knowledgeable and very friendly. They handle large groups and kids very well. This is a Florida gem!

This nature center is one of my favorite South Florida sites to visit on a clear weekend day. Hiking trails, exhibit rooms with a variety of tanks, including a touch tank complete with sea cucumbers and sea urchins, and art spaces exhibiting environmental themed art works are what you can expect to see when you visit.

We stopped in on our way from Miami to the keys and it was so perfect for an afternoon walk. We loved the mangrove forest and walked along the beach. While there were too many jellyfish to swim, the beach was very clean and natural and it was very educational! Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

We love to come here every year to support the sea turtle project. It's awesome to learn about them and how we can help keep the ocean clean and safe for these incredible animals. You get to watch them send some new hatchlings to the ocean.

This is one of the greatest things that Miami-Dade County has to offer. It's rare to find local government sponsoring outdoor programming, but this is the best that I've ever seen. It's typical to see outfitters charging a premium to access all of this. As a visitor, I was simply floored by the kayaking adventure that I was able to book online. Getting here proved to be a little challenging, but I was still able to get here with relative ease on public transit.

Awesome place. This was my 2nd field trip here with my son's class. The kids learned about the environment and we were walking the trail with the staff learning about plants and wildlife. I like the place. Not too much shade on the trail though, be advised.

Absolutely stunning, educational.. tide was low... we went in to see and catch marine life (conch, fish), observe them and then release them back in their habitat.. every family should go and enjoy a beautiful day there!

Wonderful location for a field trip. We experienced a weather advisory and had to pivot plans at the last minute and still had a great day!

Current exhibition by Matt Stock, segments of his MFA project. On till March 26th, leaving soon. Matt is a South Florida artist - focused on photographing nature settings, and particularly on ultra-long exposures (like hours).

Really nice visitor's center, was impressed with the quality of the information I learned while there, and all for free.

For a small nature center this is cute with shells and bones for kids to checkout. Has touch tank and other nice aquariums that are very well kept. Staff is friendly. Gardens around nature center were kept ok but butterflies, orb weaver spiders and Mexican iguanas were abundant. Importantly, there is outside showers facing the beach and bathrooms.
