Previous
review In
a
prior
thread
about
Mobile
Ordering,
I
reviewed
my
experience
when
I
tried
a
verrrry
early
version
of
this
in
Champaign,
IL.
Back
then,
you
had
to
download
a
separate
app
called
McD
Ordering.
It...
wasn't
very
good.
It
seems
that
the
general
process
for
mobile
order
at
McDonald's
remains
the
same,
but
thankfully
the
system
is
built
into
the
much
nicer
McDonald's
app.
You
can
read
my
review
of
the
old
app
here: /r/McDonalds/comments/5wzgiv/mcdonalds_aims_to_win_customers_back_with_mobile/dee3sg1/
False
starts
with
the
new
app I'm
sad
to
report
that
it
took
me
three
tries
to
even
place
a
mobile
order
with
the
new
app.
I
didn't
have
an
account
for
the
app,
so
I
tried
making
one
on
Saturday
night
when
I
was
hungry
for
some
late-night
breakfast.
I
used
the
"sign
in
with
Google"
feature.
For
some
reason,
this
prevented
me
from
being
able
to
add
a
credit
card
to
my
account.
I
gave
up
trying
to
mobile
order
Saturday
night.
I'll
spare
you
all
the
details
of
this,
but
I
simply
could
not
get
it
to
work
until
I
created
a
new
account
with
my
email
address.
I
tried
again
Sunday
morning,
trying
to
squeeze
in
a
quick
breakfast
before
leaving
for
a
9
AM
road
trip.
Little
did
I
know,
my
local
McDonald's
(which
is
inside
of
a
shopping
mall)
does
not
open
until
9
on
Sundays!
(It
opens
7:30
AM
every
other
day.)
Sadly,
the
app
didn't
warn
me
of
this.
I
showed
up
to
the
mall
at
8:30
to
see
the
gate
only
cracked
open.
(This
means
they're
getting
ready,
but
not
quite
open.)
I
waited
around
for
about
5
minutes,
and
they
opened
the
gate
and
began
serving
customers
ahead
of
the
9
AM
start
time.
The
app
still
would
not
let
me
"confirm"
my
order.
(More
on
this
in
a
minute.)
It
seems
the
mobile
ordering
system
only
works
during
official
store
hours.
I
hopped
into
the
regular
line
and
did
not
mobile
order
that
morning.
