THIS GYM IS A SCAM! Do not sign up! I joined this gym years ago and was on a month to month plan. I moved and canceled my membership but apparently they never canceled it? I get this email that seems nice, it says "Helping you return to VASA Fitness," and it's a debt collection notice saying once you pay we'd love to have you back. I call immediately because there must be some mistake. The lady on the other line was super rude like you never canceled your membership and we've already reported this to your credit. I was like okay well who do I talk to because there's been a mistake. And she's like you're going to have to figure that out on your own and she hung up on me. What!! I even liked that gym too I would have gone back if I lived near one again but not after this. This membership was inexpensive, like $20 a month if I remember. I make good money I don't need to skip out on payments. I could pay the collection and the problem would go away but it's the principle of it. I canceled my membership because I moved. Someone made a mistake and I have to figure it out on my own? This feels like a scam. I've never had this happen to me.

Don’t join this gym they only care about your money even if you pause your account they still charge you! Even if you want to cancel you’ll get charged! Ps spare me your pity reply for me to contact you guys, I already have you guys don’t do anything, all you guys care about is MONEY! If I could give you guys 0/5 stars I definitely would! Edit: no one reached out to me, I had to call them but even I knew that wouldn’t resolve anything, I was basically told too bad so sad, honestly would recommend any other gym but this one! I personally recommend smart gym !

For me it's all about the pool. I'm too old to lift weights. I don't do impact exercises. Hydrotherapy is the ultimate work out. Cardio, isometric, breathing, weightless environment. YESSS!

All gyms are closed due to the pandemic, which is outside of VASA’s control. What is within VASA’s control is charging the annual fee even though no one can use the facilities. I emailed their support staff hoping this was an oversight and was told basically “well we need the money”. Cool, because your company thinks they are entitled to the money while not providing the services agreed upon, I will be looking for a new gym after we return to a normal society. There is simply something deeply disturbing about a company whose morals are so skewed that they believe they deserve money regardless of what they provide.

These machines have been broken for weeks. I love VASA! But I feel like they’re going down hill, before broken machines would be fixed ASAP. please don’t let it turn into LA fitness 😫

If you look on the website under "cancelation" they list a $25 fee if you cancel in the first six months (at least for the basic plan I've subscribed to). I've been at the gym for almost a year now so that shouldn't be a problem. I've decided to cancel my membership. When I go through the process there is a $30 payment you have to make in order to cancel your membership. The what?? Really? I hope people think twice before signing up, because hidden fees are the name of the game at VASA.

I actually really like this gym they have great equipment and a great wall plan. My problem is that the youngsters that work the front desk are very rude. Today, as with other days as I am greeting them saying hello, they glance at me and then turn away to finish the conversation with their co-workers. The young man today has done it before. I feel so unwelcomed due to this kind of behavior. I am watching him right now do the same thing as he's standing people in he won't even stop his conversation with his coworker. It is Monday at 10:00 a.m. and I am shocked that the managers allow this kind of horrible customer service. They do have older front desk people that work weekends that are definitely much more friendly and welcoming. It's not a good feeling when I say hello to someone and they don't even acknowledge me. If I were to pick Jim's based on customer service, the experience I face here just on checking would keep me from joining this gym.

The new app does not work. I went in one day and my code did not want to load, the lady told me it was because I still had the old app so I downloaded the new one but it require my information again. How annoying. The next day I tried putting my info to "activate" my account and it wouldn't let me.

When this gym first opened I really enjoyed going there. Gym itself and staff is fine but I would never come back or advise anyone to join no matter how nice their facility is. Have tried contacting customer service several times to have the membership cancelled since I havent gone this whole year. Had my account on pause while trying out another gym and then the CoVId closure. Now to cancel its says I have a past due of two months which makes no sense and they also already charged me for the month of june. Have had this account for over a year so should be no reason for the 30 dollars they want to charge me. Pretty ridiculous. Every other gym makes it extremely easy to cancel or they work with you. Not worth the headache when it comes times to cancel or make any changes in my opinion. Member loyalty or the number they have to call is useless. Never get a hold of anyone.

Incredibly supportive and upbeat Staff! I have really enjoyed being a member! Fantastic and latest state of the art equipment! Katelyn Snapp’s incredible smile greeting everyone as they arrive and her energetic personality and humor has made my day many times! She’s a real treasure for VASA! I will stay with VASA for life ???

Been working out at this gym since it opened. Very clean and up to date. Most importantly, the service that we get from the young woman in the front named Katlyn who’s service is consistently superb and unmatchable. Our daughter who attends the daycare loves to run to her arms every time she sees her. Shows how much of a heart she has. I can see her holding a leadership position very soon.

Our Member Loyalty Team, blah, blah, blah... Don't bother! You managed to scam me out of as much money as I'm prepared to fork out without a legal battle. Very dishonest practices. If you join this gym, you will want to take the contract home to read it before signing. A bunch of fine print they won't tell you about.

I thought so highly of this gym when I first joined. I had joined VASA because they advertise a month to month membership. I knew I would be moving out of the area and within a few months and liked that I did not have to commit to anything long term. I was a member a few days shy of a month before they closed due to COVID-19. My dues for the 2nd month were to be charged on 3/19, but the gym closed and they paused accounts.I am cancelling before the 3rd month of dues are to be collected if the gym reopens by then.) when I select the cancellation link. I have to pay a cancellation fee, that I knew about. They also want me to pay a rate lock in fee which secures my monthly dues. They do not charge this until after you have had the membership for 60 days, which I have not, but still have to pay this fee to secure a rate that I will no longer have because I am cancelling my membership. And this is the kicker, they would like me to pay an additional month that I will not use because I am cancelling my membership. When I asked about it the response I got was "We do apologize, but our cancel terms still apply during this time. If you would like to wait to cancel when we re-open and that way you have access for those 30 days, you do have that option." They are being very insensitive and very unfair. Not to mention that shortly after the gym closed I inquired about cancelling my membership and did not receive any response back. I had to put in a second response. I have since received, through a BBB complaint, communication from VASA that they will waive the 30 day notice and I just need to pay the $25.00. When I contact the support area they are not honoring the communication I received through the BBB. I realize that these are unprecedented times however, I feel they are being so unreasonable.

I wish this place would clean itself more. They are very slow when it comes to maintenance of there equipment but very fast to make sure you pay your bill and adding fees to it. The basketball courts aren’t even mopped and i’m always slipping in there and the dirty floor is ruining my ball as well as my shoes. the steam room has so much bacteria floating around in there that while i was there with my grandfather he got sick from inhaling the dirty steam (which they need to cleanse more). In the locker rooms it smells and while i was taking my shoe off i stepped in something wet which i couldn’t tell if it was urine or water but it made me very angry. 2/6 are working while the other 4 massage chairs are broken and been that way for like a month. Not to meantion there’s a lot of rude people here (gym members) but that’s not really the gyms fault. overall atleast i can get my workout in😐

All the employees are knowledgeable and helpful. The atmosphere is the most unjudgemental I have encountered at a gym. Such a refreshing place to work out. All the staff as well as other patrons are always happy to help teach how to use equipment. The layout is genius. Love this place!

Until this place gets better corporate management I suggest nobody joins I've been going to Vasa for years and only recently started getting charged into my account to where my account would go negative. But yet anytime I call the corporate office there was only one lady she always had an attitude and she would always tell me and assured me that everything was returned yet my bank account stated negative. I was talking to another member who said he was experiencing the same issue and had to leave because of the same. Vasa has amazing equipment but that's no excuse for charging people multiple times in one month. I would send pictures of the negative balance and talk to my bank frequently. Anytime I called however the agent told me it must be my bank yet my bank kept crediting my account because I was going negative and constantly being charged more than once a month. Long story short I had to pay $20 to have my bank block them because whenever I tried to cancel o hite with a big ol fee. My advice to to another gym you might pay more but not being able to talk to the people at the gym because only the corporate office handles returns is annoying. Especially when you have a fully grown child as the corporate person answering the phone

On the outside, I always thought this gym wasn’t anything too special. The day I walk in, it feels different. A new sense of purpose washes over me. Vasa offers everything I need, from weights, to cardio machines, and massages to swimming. My personal favorite is the basketball court. For such a cheap price, this gym is unbeatable compared to Esporta, La fitness, or Anytime Fitness. I highly recommend this gym to anyone that wants to better themselves or enjoy what this gym has to offer! From teenager to senior citizen, this gym is for everyone!

I initially rated the gym a five, but am revising it to a 2. The gym itself is nice and fine, but the real issue is that this gym is always packed. It doesn't matter what time, it's always packed. If your someone who actually works out properly, I can't recommend this gym. I struggle to get a proper workout due to how busy it is. And I to at 10 in the morning, it's packed.

I’m not going into details yet. The gym is fine, and staff is great. The manager who I spoke with at approximately 6 pm on 5/27, I will not mention a name, was rude and shouldn’t be in that position if she can’t treat loyal customers better. I will be canceling in the near future unless someone at Vasa makes this right. Never been treated as poorly by a manager as I was by her in my life.

Friendly staff, clean and nice amenities. 2 stars because you're charged a "guaranteed rate fee." It's also such a hassle to cancel your membership. Won't let you cancel through the app, the website doesn't work, can't call the gym itself because "they don't do that," wait time for the customer service call is hours. Only option is to email the support.

Very rude customer service I received from a young lady this afternoon. I wanted to join this gym with my wife and wanted to try out the gym for 1 day. My wife signed up and was supposed to receive a pass and it never went through like it said it would. She said clearly you didn't do it right. She was wrong and she was not able to get it to work either. No apologies, notha! I know how to use a computer and I can read. The only thing that is clear is her presence in this business. Disgusting behavior.

I switched to this gym a couple months ago. I have noticed the women’s bathroom smells and the cardio equipment is very dusty. I don’t see cleaners like I saw at EOS. If they kept the gym cleaner I’d give them a 5 star. I did report this to the front desk but nothing changed so hopefully this review will get things going.

Kids care is THE BEST! My kids have a blast, and almost everytime we come one or more of the staff are being silly/fun playing with kids. Biggest complaint...you pay extra for massage chairs and this location has 4 of 6 out of order month after month. I was at a different location yesterday and overheard bad comments about 43rd and tbird based off of these non operative chairs. Management should really upkeep these amenities better.

I’ve been a member at many of the gyms in Phoenix throughout the years. Planet, Anytime, LA Fitness, EOS....ect. I have to say VASA is the place to be. They have nicely maintained equipment and plenty of variety of workout stations. Very open and clean set up, without feeling crowed with people. Adequately staffed with awesome associates like Katlyn Snapp and Alice Brown! They have been so helpful with information about my membership, and answering detail questions about my concerns with Covid-19 precautions. I want to give them special kudos for always being there to take care of my needs. LET’S JUST SAY...Because of their customer service, I’ll be a member of this gym for a long time. I appreciate great service because I’m in the service industry myself. Not to mention their prices are very competitive. Thanks ladies for confirming I made the right choice ?????????

These places continue to bill you months and months after you've canceled. They have co tuned to do this to me after I stopped my membership and paid the fee. Another gym trap scheme. The gym itself is very nice and offers many amenities for the price. The classes cost a premium. But are personalized and helpful.

I had the worst experience ever here at this gym. Please make sure you guys communicate well with whoever is doing your contracting for this gym. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any luck and the person who helped me was “Amdie” he’s pt manager here at this location , for personal reasons I couldn’t make it to my personal training classes so I decided to just remove that. I ended up finding out that I was in Debt for $1,700 for a 12 week program I totally did not know about now I’m stuck with this big amount of money that I cannot pay. If I would’ve knew it was going to be this much I would’ve never got the gym membership. I wouldn’t want this to happen to anyone else.

I've been meaning to write this for a while, but this is the best gym!! The front desk is always super friendly. Gym is clean, modern, lots of cardio machines/equipment, and multiple areas with free weights and mirrors for when you want to do your own thing. Lots of amazing classes included in the regular membership, but where they really shine is Studio Red classes (upgraded membership, but still affordable!). The class set up is perfect with two cardio stations and two weight/resistance stations. I honestly do not think they have a bad instructor. They are all SO positive and encouraging, and ready to offer corrections and modifications when needed. I am currently 6 mo. pregnant so I need some modifications here and there, but I also appreciate that I can stay strong and fit during this time with the help of Studio Red.. I was so grateful when they added the 8:00am class! Now I can make it 4-5x every week, and I look forward to it every time. Thank you to the amazing coaches: Jake, Justin, Carlos, David, Stevie, Brittany

Water classes are awesome. Gym kept clean, staff friendly. Rules for hygiene tho are ignored by many guests. Gym bags laying all around pool and in aisles. Street shoes in the steam room. No showering between sauna and pool dips (gross!). Its a nice gym. I wish the violators were addressed. A few selfish users can ruin it....one senior pool user tripping over a gym bag could be a nightmare. Can a shower spigot be installed in the pool area like at most gyms? Can the gym bags laying everywhere be monitored? A few simple changes would make this a 5star

Great experience with gym, equipment, and child care. Staff at the front desk is little to no help. My mom and I have separate memberships and happened to be at the gym at the same time. My mom has very little technology knowledge and to her understanding was signed up to a studio red class not knowing she was placed under a waitlist. When she showed up to the front desk she showed a worker her phone and she was given the studio pass. About half way through, the class is stopped and my mom is told to get off the treadmill and leave the class because she is in someone else’s slot. When she comes up to front desk to question what is going on they then apologized and told her they made a mistake. She then wished to change her plan to the fitness plan and asked the employee to change her plan which then the employee responded that is done through your phone. I came back with my mom to assist her with changing her plan to which the same employee told me the same thing about doing it via app. I then expressed that my mom did not know how to navigate the app and as an employee she could have assisted her and she replied saying that my mom did not ask. I made a side comment to my mom questioning what they do as employees and the she began banging on the desk and getting loud, mind you this employee claimed to be the “manager” (NELSA) to my mom when she first came to ask about her plan. After I asked if she was done I began to explain to her the reason why my mom was upset and how she could have assisted her with the app because she does not have a lot of technology knowledge. The employee was extremely defensive rather than understanding, and extremely unprofessional. Towards the end there was an attitude change either she remembered she was at work or because another employee came to stand by. we were able to change my moms plan by the end. I understand that my mom was placed on a waitlist but as front desk they should have told her that and not given her a pass. We have been there many times and most staff that’s usually up at front know she has trouble with technology. I am not always with my mom. To my understanding, they are there to assist those kind of people. Both situations could have been handled differently. The gym is great over all haven’t had any other complaints. I confirmed this employee IS the front desk manager. The experience was so bad my mom and I paid the fees to cancel our membership and started at mountainside fitness.

Great gym! I love the variety of amenities that VASA offers for the low price. They have lots of workout machines, lots of fitness class options, a basketball/pickleball court, a lap pool and spa, and more. My go-to workout is swimming laps. The pool only has 3 lanes, but the pool is not normally busy, which is nice for us lap swimmers. The spa is next to the pool so I like to jump in right after my workout. The locker room is beautiful. I highly recommend at least getting the free one-day guest pass and trying it out!

I cancelled my membership and all attached memberships (my girlfriend), on 03/01/23. I hadn’t been to the gym since 12/2022 as I was out of town working. I looked at my account yesterday and realized $100 was pulled out from Vasa, to my surprise. I got ahold of “Paramount Billing” asking for a full refund from March forward, as I’ve been billed monthly and didn’t notice (silly me). They responded this morning to my request saying I am SOL because I “only cancelled my membership”, how tf does that work? They’re both under my name and my card, we looked before I spoke with Vasa and she didn’t even have an option to pay a bill- because it’s my account… Listen to the reviews guys, the gyms are okay but the billing and misc. fees are absolutely terrible and they will take advantage of you any time the opportunity arises. Go to EŌS, they’re much better.

I didn’t have the chance to give this place any more stars because their sign up process has a hidden annual fee ($50) that comes out 2 months after you join and they don’t tell you about until you are paying and you read all the fine print. They don’t advertise it anywhere - even when they were running other deals they never mention. It’s to “lock in your monthly price” even though you don’t sign a contract or anything for your plan - why not just do that automatically. Plus you pay a $50 deposit to join plus your monthly fees. I thought this was going to be a great place for me to work out close to home but refuse to give into corporate greed and that’s all those hidden unnecessary fees are.

This week we had a sub for StudioRed named Grace and she was amazing! I am just getting back into working out and starting a routine and I am glad I scheduled the two classes with her. She was super friendly and encouraging! Her classes were high energy and she engaged with everyone. Just a wonderful experience I was sad to learn she was just subbing at this location.

VASA Fitness is just wonderful! They have more amenities than some of the spa's I have been to, including tanning and hydro massage beds. I love the cardio theater room the best!

A lot of the machines are breaking and not being fixed- many are repeat offenders. The gym wipe buckets are frequently empty. This is very concerning as we are entering flu season... Within the year or so I've been a member the quality of this gym has declined greatly. Hoping you guys can get your act together. I expect you to reply with how, 'you'll reach out to your maintenance team', but from reading previous posts broken equipment seems to be a running gag at this location. Just like in fitness we don't get better by saying we are going to do something. We need the action behind our words to get the job done, and done right the first time. Get it together guys, you're really letting us down.

It was great experience, good machines, cool employees and cannot complain. Edit: Just had an employee today help me out by the name of Diane. She fixed my payment and left me satisfied. Deserves a raise!

If I could give 0 stars I would. The membership is a ripoff. The location at 43rd and Bell has the worst service. I've been there quite a few times (during my lunch break... thebonly time I can go since I am a single mother working 3 jobs) and there is never anyone that can help me. There is almost always someone wearing a shirt that says Coach nearby, but they ignored me when i said I was new and needed assistance. They told me someone would be back to help me but my time was limited and i ended up having to leave. Turns out the majority of the staff (including the manager) take their lunch at the same time (around 2pm). I've had the membership for 1 week and decided to cancel due to lack of service, and I was prepared to pay the $25 stated in the contract. Now it's saying I have to pay for a month of service on top of that $25 because I didn't give a 30 day notice (which was not stated in the contract). So... $53 for a membership I've never used and can't even check in to use because can't get any help with figuring out how any of it works. Don't bother.

Very rude customer service, the gym wipe buckets are frequently empty, a couple of the equipment is broken, and the 9.99 monthly membership you are going to waive the $99 "Annual Fee" but hit me with a "$49.99 service" fee. Yet it's not $9.99 it comes out of my bank for $12.99 every month, tired of asking about it they said "It's just the taxes"

Amazing gym. With tons of equipment and workout space. I totally enjoy the steam room, sauna, hot tub and pool. Afterwords hitting the cinema, massage chair or even tan. VASA has so much to help you get in shape.

I super love this gym. They have good equipment and a good atmosphere. My only thing is this place is filthy. I have brought it up to the staff before but it just falls on deaf ears. Instead of all the wasted labor of the staff just standing around they should be doing upkeep by cleaning. Or hire a decent cleaning staff.

Since I haven't been working out as frequently due to the events of this year and since the gym in my apartment complex has been closed since March, I decided to research gyms for my mom and I to join. This was definitely on my list because I heard about VASA through 2 of my friends. Even though I was unable to get a full tour of the gym before joining, I was very impressed with how nice this gym is, along with the vast variety of machines, weights and amenities. I love their fitness cinema and their huge pool especially. If you want to join this gym, I highly recommend their fitness membership because you have access to most of the amenities and its the best deal compared to other gyms in the area!

Vasa Fitness, at 43rd and Thunderbird, has been an outstanding gym. They are clean and keep everything well maintained. One worker in particular whom I had the pleasure to meet, Leslie, is always hard at work with an upbeat attitude! She is always cleaning gym equipment, keeping all of the weights orderly, all while having a welcoming presence. Both her and whoever hired her deserves a raise for she is a one in a million worker!

VASA fitness was warm and welcoming from day one! About a month after I started my membership I bumped into Candace (amazing personal trainer). I was hesitant to commit myself to a full 6 months of training. I would have been even more disappointed had I not joined. Candace catered to all of my personal needs while making sure to make exercise enjoyable. Throughout my fitness journey I went through ups and downs; Candace was always supportive and motivated me to push harder each day. Because of her enthusiasm and encouragement I was able to drop 25lbs and step closer to my goals. Thank you for this experience and providing me the motivation I needed to reach my goals. Candace is welcoming and bubbly but be prepared to earn and work for your goals

I love this gym! It’s big with a lot of quality equipment and amenities. It’s clean, maintained and they have very pleasant, friendly, helpful staff. I only have two issues with it - no toilet seat covers in the ladies restrooms and they definitely could keep the gym cooler. I’ve had a few people I see there or have worked out with who have said the same thing. A friend of mine in fact who is also a member at another large gym chooses to do some of his more strenuous workouts at the other gym because VASA is too warm. They do need to work on getting it cooler in there, especially during these hot summer months. I have had to shorten some of my workouts due to the heat/lack of sufficient cooling. Otherwise, a great gym. 👍🏼🏋🏻‍♀️

Excellent gym. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Affordable and high quality. I love the classes so far. I knocked off a star because Kidcare isn't available even though it has a sign on the building and is featured on the website. I really hope it is available soon.

This is by far the best gym after trying various ones like LA Fitness and Planet Fitness. Best bang for the buck at 20$ per month. They have more than enough equipment even during the busiest times and everything is pretty clean. They have plenty of room for other exercises besides the machines or free weights. I'm going to be really sad when I have to move away from this gym.

I've gone to Vasa for years, but only used other people's guest passes to go. Recently moved next to this location and absolutely love it. It's clean, lots of machines as well as free weights. My fiance loves their classes and large selection of amenities. 100% would recommend!

Just joined this gym about 2 months ago and was waiting to review it. It is the best gym I have ever joined. So big so much equipment that even when it's packed there is plenty of workout stations to be at. They have a sauna and dry sauna big huge pool basket ball courts and more. Reasonably priced at 17.99 a month for me it's worth every penny

Great gym. They do a good job keeping up with equipment and staff is always friendly. Has been getting crowded lately but so has every other gym out there… Even in off hours when it used to be empty 😔

Absolutely best decision I have ever made for myself and my daughter. My daughter has been working out with the personal trainer Kenny and he is incredible. My daughter is autistic and does not really open up or respond to anyone unless she knows them really well however, from day one she has had nothing but positive interactions with Kenny. He is extremely patient with her, taking the time to verbally and visually explains everything to my daughter so that she is comfortable doing all the exercises that he is teaching her. Kenny is awesome and we would highly recommend going to see Kenny.

I've never had a gym membership before I signed up at VASA. This location is large and has four rows of cardio steps, bikes and treadmills. The weights and resistance machines are great for a full workout. The equipment is clean and well maintained. As with any gym membership, they will sneak in "extra" fees. I guess there is no avoiding that 😐
