This place is the biggest waste of time and money. The doctor spends all of 5 min with each patient early in the morning while they are still half asleep. I imagine before office hours. The group therapy is beyond a joke. They do no kind of family therapy and within days of a complete psychological break.. they will send u home..: they won’t even put u on all of your meds… they push u off to outpatient ASAP…. This is the kind of facility that is responsible for the high number of schizophrenic patients that end up in jail, homeless or death by suicide…. I’m disgusted that anyone could claim to care about another human being and call this place help. Any hospital that refers a patient here, does so because it pads their own pockets… thanks a lot Grandview Medical Center in Dayton Ohio.,.. signed… just a mom, trying to save her sons life…

I went to Grandview ER to be placed there but they transferred me to KBH because Behavioral was removed from Grandview. I was the for (5) days due to a suicide attempt. The o my issue I had was they roomed me on my 2nd day with a substance abuser that was detoxing. So everything I did irritated him. I was afraid to take a shower in the room because he got mad at every noise I made. I don’t thing mental health patients need to be paired with patients with mental and substance detoxing patients.

I tried calling this place on behalf of a friend many times trying to see if they accept walk in patients or if they only do emergency room admits, since the website doesn't say anything about admissions. Nobody answered the phone. At all. This is totally unacceptable for a behavioral health facility. It turns out they DO NOT accept walk ins, even though their website has their location plastered all over it and says they're open 24/7. Kettering, please staff your phones better and be more clear about admissions on your website.

I would give this establishment ZERO starts if it were applicable to the review. This place is absolutely horrible as someone who came to visit a family member. Let me explain. They do not answer the facility phone or “welcome desk”. Ever. You can go through the options on the number prompt, (which doesn’t even give out basic information)but you’ll never reach anyone. I came to the facility today unaware of the visiting hours because you can’t get through to anyone to get that information. When I walked up to the door, I started chatting with a patient who had been discharged and actually had to get the nurses station number from them, which I was incredibly grateful for. I left and came back hours later during visiting hours, got buzzed inside. As soon as I walk in, all of the employees are sitting around the nurses station cutting it up. A nurse copped an attitude with me and said I needed to call and set up a visitation with my family. How would I have known that if I can’t reach anyone on the phone? NO ONE ANSWERS. Upon finally getting my visitation was in, the setting was absolutely horrible all around, it’s dirty, outdated, looks and feels like a nursing home. It’s literally depressing. The room my visit was held in had zero lights on - just the tv. The same nurse who copped an attitude told me I couldn’t hug my family member. Weird flex, but okay. I hugged my sibling twice anyway. Within five minutes of my visitation staff starting letting in other patients and visitors into the same room hugging each other, nothing was ever said to them. Anyway, here I am, chatting it up with my family member and two seats away, a patient is sitting there and starts manically crying to their visitor. I felt so bad for this person, sitting there having to crying in front of strangers. I could only imagine how embarrassing that must have been. I find this incredibly distasteful to the other patients to not have the privacy they are deserved during their visit with a loved one. PATIENT PRIVACY WITH A SAFE LOVED ONE SHOULD BE PRIORITIZED. Overall, just absolute trash establishment and every staff member encountered today (5/29/21) was TRASH. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

This place drives me insane. It was great when I needed to find a last-minute psychiatrist after a brief hospitalization, but holy cow, it's not a great long-term option. Ivan either didn't chart any of our appointments, or never looked at his computer, because every appointment was the same. Misdiagnosis, discussion of the misdiagnosis, questioning every medication I've tried, rinse and repeat. All of this information should be in my chart, but he relies on me to tell him about all the medication that HE prescribed me in the past and why we stopped it and he keeps telling me I have a certain diagnosis, even though last appointment he told me that I didn't have that condition. AND I ran out of meds that I absolutely can't stop, and never received a call back. I went a few weeks ago and they never pushed through my refills so I have to try to call again and just hope they call me back. Totally unorganized, unprofessional and just a giant pain to deal with. You're better off finding another psychiatry option.

Works off you need a referral then they have to look at the referral for 2 or more weeks and determine if they will even take you, not helpful. This was verbatim the staff I just called.

I will never forget my journey that started here. Everyone was so caring and spiritual. You can say that this is a attentive care facility. Mental illness is something that is becoming more common among 1 in 4 people. If I could give a million stars I would. Thank you to everybody who helped me and for teaching me skills to cope. This is the best place to go if you are having any type of problems with your mental state or need a mental reset. Yes, a vacation from your mind. I had my own room with my private bathroom and had a choice to go to the cafeteria or eat in my room, whatever I felt comfortable doing. There is daily therapy indoor or outdoor for everyone, sometimes even one on one. On Saturdays is Dog therapy! Thank you KBHC and all your employees who took their time and prayed with me through it! God Bless

Amazing recovery center for mental health and physical wellness. The food was incredible and there was variety in the meal plan, as well as no limit to the amount you could eat or take with you to your room! Plus, the staff were nothing short of amazing, and the doctors are top notch! 10/10 would recommend to anyone who is in need of a little R&R, Therapy and time to heal. The spiritual counselors were also very considerate and only shared with those with an active interest. Groups were voluntary and the one-on-one check-ins with doctors and staff were incredibly valuable.

I’ve been here before and never had an issue. Yvonne Kuhn was so unprofessional that I ended up walking out. She was condescending the whole time even while I was clearly upset with how hard it’s been to get back into the office saying “ you seem to have been doing fine without them (meds)” MULTIPLE TIMES!!! I have reported her to every outlet possible. She should be ashamed!

My husband was transferred here after he had nervous breakdown at work and the hospital said they felt he could hurt himself so he was pink slipped and ended up coming out of this place so messed up the incident happened in September and he is still trying to get back to normal they should really evaluate some of the other patients they have in there before letting them around each other the conversation that my husband told me occurred once he came home is absolutely ridiculous they weren’t stopped and handled on a 1:1 basis and the so called dr that called me while my husband was there decided to completely disregard that my husband was on meds and just decided that he would be on no meds while there and did not even call his psychiatrist that he was there and when I called his psychiatrist office to reach out they refused to take the call I wouldn’t trust this place to take care of any of your loved ones and if any of your loved ones end up here be prepared for them to come out even more messed up then they have ever been before

Abuse of power from the main psychiatry team: Kirk Patrick Chung and Michelle Bonnett. I signed voluntary papers on day 2 and was then held for 8 days because of lying staff members on MyChart (Have Proof.)DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS HERE!!!

I was at this location back in the early 2000s as a teenager. If it wasn't for this facility and the help that they gave me and the things that they tried to do because I came from an abusive background with a lot of trauma I wouldn't be here today. When I was there the only thing I can really speak poorly on is the schooling area. Because when I was younger we really didn't have much of a schooling area. That is the only part of that experience that set my life back. They helped me through some of the most traumatic things that I have ever dealt with. I was always treated with care and compassion and kindness. I truly wish I could say thank you to the people that helped me but I know that they're probably not working there anymore as I am grown and an adult and a mother myself now. I've been trying for years to find this location and thanks to Google Maps I was able to. Maybe now I can get their help with getting my medical records and some clue as into what my mother was doing.

I had a stay here for a little while a few years back, when I was something around 13. I don't think they do the program for minors anymore, but weight was something I struggled with constantly, and my GOD, the food made me forget all about it. It was a huge downgrade going to a different mental health center after KBMC, getting served wimpy turkey and cheese sandwiches on top of already wanting to die, lol. The staff were absolutely amazing and so caring, aside from the 'school' department but obviously that's no longer a worry if no minors are able to attend now. I sadly never got to experience dog therapy day, that sounds incredible, but everything else was absolutely wonderful.

Everyone was incredibly friendly and group sessions were super helpful. I left feeling significantly more hopeful and healthier than I did when I came in. Huge THANK YOU to one of the RNs (I believe her last name was Karie?) that listened to me and was always very warm with me. Overall a great experience that helped me get out of the depressive and anxious state I was in.

I was having issues with my stress and anxiety. Polly recommended me a personalized supplement regimen without introducing a prescription drug. I was hesitant to take a prescription medication and Polly was the first provider I've encountered that showed me another option. I felt that she really listened to me and I would highly recommend her.

I went & my insurance wasn’t accepted anymore. However, the lady upfront Linda was so helpful and very nice and comforting in my situation. My visit with Ivan was also really great. Even though I currently can’t return to them due to insurance, I would be happy to see them. They’re a great office and team.

Christine from the far hills ave office has the WORSE additude I have EVER seen. I'm 24 weeks pregnant and in the process of moving out of state. I lost my insurance due to my dads death and I was not able to make an appointment because I could not afford it. Long story short I called to ask for one more refill on my anti depressents because I was out and I need to take those. She was the coldest and just the most unhelpful person ever. So now I have to go a week without my meds which is NOT safe. But she didnt seem to care. I will be contacting someone else.

They will hold u there longer , if they THINK u need it. I literally got discharged 24 hours later in the same mindset. And. My psychiatrist took me off of one of the pills they put me on. If ur admitted on a 72 hour hold, .. well y'all have GOT. to start trying to understand what happened from the patients perspective. That distrust and no asking is very dehumanizing.

Kbmc themselves is great my stay at kbmc was amazing great staff ect but they need to make it so that you don't have to go through the er to be admitted I was threatened and verbally harassed in the er over simply refuseing blood work so bad that I'm generally considered never going back no matter how much help I need needle phobia is real and FYI when someone says " can I have 30 minutes to calm down before you stab me with a needle again because you've already stabbed me five times you shouldn't respond with " if you don't let me take your blood right now I'm calling security and having you restrained and sedated"

😠 Jessica Murphy was very snarky and unprofessional on both visits. I gave her a pass the first time but on my second visit she had the same attitude and I literally heard her and her staff LAUGHING/making fun of one of the elderly patients in the hallways. The doors are thin as paper. Aside from this...
