Unethical billing practices. Took my son to the Dayton Children's Urgent Care for a suspected sprained ankle. I knew I had other choices for urgent care services but figured Dayton Children's was a name I trusted. Care was good, but very slow for a Sunday afternoon with only one other patient in the facility. I was very cautious to ensure we went to the Urgent Care rather than the Emergency Room on the same site. Little did I know when I received the bill that Dayton Children's charge everything at the hospital, emergency room rate. My son's bill was over $1000 for the visit. What was the most shocking was the X-ray portion was $700. This is 10X any X-ray rate I have ever seen. I've been to orthopedic specialists and have had rates for X-rays less than $100. I contacted the Billing department to question the charges and I confirmed with my insurance provider that Dayton Children's billed the X-rays at the hospital emergency room rate. According to Dayton Children's they bill all there X-rays at the same higher rate even for physician offices, urgent care, or ER. This is unacceptable to me and unethical and clearly an anti-consumer / patient practice. I'm writing this review so others can be aware of this unethical practice. No wonder healthcare costs are out of control with this type of business practice. Will never use their services again.

not sure if the doctor is know what he is doing about lip laceration , The laceration was down into the muscular layer of the vermilion part of the lip but the doctor just said he can't suture the mucous layer of the lip and send us home to have the laceration heal on its own. SO now three month later our daughter's dentist told us that she need a plastic surgery to take out the scar on vermilion laceration. Suture could have help at the time, I don't know why that doctor didn't want to suture the cut and instead send us home, lack of competence or professionalism ? which one? oh the only nice thing was getting us checked in and out and a nice little 150 bill in the mail.

My daughter is here for severe pain in her right side. She is crying and holding her side. We have been here for 2 hours and the most they have done is a strep test and pregnancy test. She has had no medication to help with pain and no scan!! Iā€™m about to leave and go somewhere else. When I ask why we have not got a scan Iā€™m told ā€œwell sometimes strep causes stomach painā€ They are saying it will be at least 30 minutes for the test results. This is the worst hospital. When my step son had appendicitis they had an IV and a scan in the first 20 minutes of being there. I should have taken her to that hospital. I just thought childrenā€™s hospital would be the best hospital. I wonā€™t come here again!

Had my one year old in for an upper repository problem, and instead of leaving with medical help, the police were sent to my household, and a nurse or doctor that works there falsely reported child abuse and neglect. We have Pic proof that our son had no bruises going in and proof after. We will see you in court, your terrible people. Now, maybe if cps was lying about bruises amd you reported us for dirty fingernails ig you never played outside as a kid. Regardless of the issue they lied about, we will stand as strong, proud parents knowing justice will be served. And for all you woodbe liars reporting abuse or neglect falsely, is a 1st degree misdemeanor 6 monthsin jail, so your proof better be better than mine. You're not protected if you lie on the stand. This is not our first time dealing with a mandated reporter who lied.

Dr. Pradeep in emergency treated us so nicely. There was a bit of a wait, but the doctor personally apologized to us. No doctor has ever been that personable with us. Especially, my daughter. She screams at every doctor, but he was playing with her and made her feel real comfortable. Thank you for being so kind after we had such a scary experience. I will bring my children here anytime we have an emergency.

The nurses are very pleasant. Very clean in this facility. They are thorough at sanitizing waiting area when visitors are called back. Wait time was very short.

Do not bring your kids here. I repeat. Do not bring your kids to children's at all They have a full time Case worker that's out to take your kids And top it off all they have is young nurses straight out of college. They have no clue what they're doing.

We've utilized this Urgent Care three times now for our two sons. Each time, I've been extremely impressed and grateful for the level of care. This afternoon, I brought my 11 month old son in to be seen for an ongoing fever that wasn't getting better. I checked in online, which made the whole process a breeze. The staff at the check-in desk were warm and friendly. We were taken back immediately and once again, everyone we interacted with on the medical staff was extremely friendly. The doctor was very thorough. She started off with a few tests to rule a couple things out and then started digging deeper. We eventually pinpointed what the cause was, and I felt relieved and reassured based on the level of thoroughness. Everyone was phenomenal. At one point, my son had to get his blood drawn and I was nervous due to a bad experience I had with my oldest at a different hospital. The tech/nurse who drew my son's blood was amazing. It was over in 30 seconds. The staff kept apologizing for the waiting, but in the end, we were in and out in about 2 hours...much faster than I was expecting based on my past experiences elsewhere. I'm military, so I've been to my fair share of Urgent Cares, including pediatric ones. This one is, by far, the best one...by leaps and bounds. Thank you.

If you have a child with a potential broken bone DO NOT take them here! I am extremely unhappy with the physician that treated my daughter!!! She misdiagnosed my child and my child ended up having a broken fibula!!! An X-ray was provided at the urgent care and the radiologist noted on the X-ray that there could be a possible fracture on her fibula. The physician that seen her said that since she didnā€™t cry when she pushed the area she didnā€™t think it was broke. I again told her that my child has a high pain tolerance and it may not have hurt her to where she would cry out. Again the Dr said that it was just an abnormality in her ankle and it probably looks the same on the other ankle if they were to take an X-ray but wasnā€™t going to do it since the other ankle didnā€™t hurt. I again said that the radiologist was concerned and again the physician dismissed it! So we were sent home with instructions just to ice it and give Tylenol and follow up with Orthopedics in 5-7 days. They didnā€™t even brace it! So my child was sent out of there with a fracture and not given anything because she didnā€™t cry when the physician touched it! As soon as we left I got online and scheduled an appointment the next day with Orthopedics as a self referral. We went to Dayton Childrens Orthopedics downtown and sure enough my child had a Salter Harris Type 1 Physeal Fracture of distal end of left Fibula and now is in a cast for 4 weeks! I am extremely upset and disappointed by the care we received from the physician at Childrenā€™s Urgent Care in Springboro! I think that the dr should be reprimanded for not providing appropriate care of my child sending her out of there with a fracture when it showed on the X-ray with nothing and to be told that my child was just banged up! If I would have listened to the Dr and followed after care instructions my child would have been walking around on a broken fibula for the next week! Highly unacceptable in my opinion from a care provider that is supposed to be taking care of children!

If I could put 0 I would. Sat there for over 2.5 hours for a simple strep test for my 2 year old. Got there at 6:50 pm, didnā€™t leave until 9:30 pm, after they were closed for 30 mins. Strep test was negative and they sent us on our way at 9:30. We were left in the room alone for an hour once. Also for 30 mins another time. No medications issued or anything, just a strep test. Over 2.5 hours. Meanwhile employees are laughing in the hallway like Kevin hart is out there doing standup. Will never be coming back here.

I took my son to Dayton Children South for a cough that he had for about 3 weeksā€¦.. I checked in about 6:30 was called to the back around 7:00. The nurse came in around 7:15 and took my sons vitals. Needless to say I ended up leaving around 8:40 without being seen!! When I walked out there was no patients in the waiting area and the place was not busy at all! The nurse at the nurseā€™s station said to me let us know if there is anything else they could help me with!!! Like really ! Being seeing would have been GREAT!! Very unprofessional !!!

SOME of the staff could have been more friendly with the kids. Cincinnati children's was booked Dayton was my only option and I've never been a fan of Dayton. The Dr herself was fantastic, she done amazing and explained everything. But the rest was just not a great experience. My daughter even said after her surgery she liked the "other place" better (Cincinnati). Going back for surgery Cincinnati will let you go back so your child is comfortable. Dayton does not. Might just be me being picky but just how I feel.

The nurses were really helpful and informative but my son has been going here for 8 years and he has never had asthma. We were here for his ankle and his medical records stated he had asthma? It is kind of concerning that something like that would be falsely recorded on my 17 year olds medical chart after going here for 8 years.

Great staff and facility. We have been to the Urgent Care and the ER. The doctors in the ER were amazing at figuring out my son's strange symptoms were 3 different issues, one which was serious enought to require an few days in the main campus in Dayton. They took him downtown in the ambulance so they could start treatment before leaving. The drivers were so nice and knew how to help a scared boy with sensory issues have fun in such a new experience. Forever grateful for this facility and their staff.

This place is amazing. They address some serious concerns and took the time to answer every question. The staff was very pleasant and professional. They referred me to a doctor and got my daughter an appointment within 2 Business days.

This is the worst Childrens out of all !!!! This was legit my last resource bc of how sick my son was ! My fiancĆ© & my 2 year old baby were walk ins for the ER last Saturday night. My husband came home upset ! He told me our child had been diagnosed with an ear infection and he had a fever when he arrived. They had a nurse who was going to give him medicine & was very rude and was talking to my 2 year old NON VERBAL son in a tone saying ā€œHERE YOU HAVE TO TAKE IT HERE YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE MEDICINEā€ due to the situation my fiancĆ© got mad because she showed no type of patience to our sick baby and was talking in an aggressive manner to him ! He proceeded to take the medicine from her and do it himself. Due to her lack of professionalism & lack of patience I am writing this review. If you canā€™t deal with kids YOU ARE IN THE WRONG FIELD !!!! A sick non verbal fuzzy baby isnā€™t going to trust you in any type of way if he feels threatened by you !!!!

So start off by saying the service was very good however I had to pay three separate co-pays, first one was expected but then the X-Ray contractor with the urgent care billed me then the referral to get the cast on was billed (apparently legally) as a surgery which was just a simple cast that took about 20 min, was billed over $1,000 (luckily ins paid half and reduced the amount) but still, like a $150 co-pay. Would not recommend if anything more than the basics needed. Had to end up paying around $200 for an exam, x-rays and cast, ins company paid another around $600 Ask about the hidden charges up front.
