During
quarantine--when
meetings
with
a
therapist
or
psychiatrist
had
to
be
over
the
phone--they
either
called
too
early
or
too
late
rather
than
at
or
near
the
scheduled
time,
so
I
ended
up
missing
the
calls.
They
regularly
would
call
or
mail
to
let
me
know
that
they
had
to
reschedule
an
appointment
due
to
the
place
being
closed,
and
due
to
the
scheduling
receptionist
apparently
not
having
noticed
that.
🤷🏽♀️
Receptionists
were
sometimes
rude--early
on
I
had
to
ask
them
a
couple
times
to
use
their
phone
so
I
could
call
my
ride
and
let
her
know
I
was
ready
to
be
picked
up.
Once
the
lady
angrily
dialed
the
number
herself,
then
snapped
into
the
line
"she's
ready"
rather
than
pass
me
the
receiver,
as
though
what
I
was
asking
was
somehow
a
major
inconvenience.
Besides
rude,
this
is
unnecessarily
infantilizing.
After
this
incident,
my
ride
stayed
in
her
car
in
the
parking
lot
with
a
book
so
I
didn't
need
to
call
her,
but
it
shouldn't
have
been
necessary
to
arrange
this.
The
waiting
rooms
often
have
loud
obnoxious
children
and/or
people
talking
loudly
on
their
cell
phones.
Receptionists
need
to
do
something
about
this,
particularly
when
it
comes
to
adults
making
unnecessary
noise.
The
last
thing
someone
with
anxiety/noise
issues
needs
is
to
come
and
wait
in
a
place
like
this.
My
therapist
seemed
at
a
loss
as
to
how
to
help
me--one
session
ended
with
her
handing
me
a
photocopied
sheet
of
paper
with
"mindfulness"
printed
on
it.
If
I
was
8
years
old
and
just
learning
about
this
concept,
this
might
have
been
useful.
As
it
is,
I
was
underwhelmed.
A
woman
assigned
to
help
me
get
back
into
the
workforce
didn't
respond
to
my
calls
with
questions
about
the
process.
The
most
positive
experience
I
had
regarding
SC
was
when
I
made
the
decision
to
stop
dealing
with
them.
Going
there
and/or
interacting
with
staff
just
made
me
feel
that
much
more
depressed,
anxious,
angry,
and
helpless.
If
you
try
them
out
and
they
manage
to
help
you,
great.
But
don't
be
afraid
to
walk
away
if
and
when
that's
no
longer
the
case.
