My experience at this particular casino is simply okay. Before the pandemic, you could walk in here and leave with a comfortable amount of money. This week I stayed at the Greektown Casino hotel. I went downstairs to the casino about three times (each time on different days & hours). Just to get a feel for the environment. I did not spend much however, each time I left, I simply broke even. That's great for me however, listening to the horror stories of other people around me..... these machines simply were not paying out. One annoying fact that my party and I noticed was majority of the machine volume controls were broken. Therefore, many of the machines were extremely loud. They made sounds even if the machine awarded 3 cents. We determined that it was to fool people nearby into thinking the machines were paying big. It's still a good place due to most of the restaurants being open. I love the fact it's now completely smoke free (they do have an outside patio for smokers). In addition, I did not notice any special disinfection protocols in place. A lot of the machines had trash around them, used napkins, drinks etc. Overall, it was an okay experience. A ton of attractions are nearby and everything is in walking distance. Therefore, if you get bored at the casino you can easily go somewhere else downtown. F.Y.I- the only two machines that were paying out (each time I visited) was Cleopatra and Wonder Woman. The hotel was a good experience. The only issue we had was loud neighbors next door. They remodeled the rooms and they are very tiny. You barely have any place to put all of your things. Double nightstands in the room have vanished so be prepared. We were unable to fit our suitcase inside the tiny wardrobe. On the other hand, the views were spectacular. We were on the 23rd floor and we kept the window open at night because it was just so beautiful.

End the strike and pay your employees a fair/living wage!!! I really enjoy coming to this casino. There is a lot of great variety in games. I have always had excellent service from the staff. My husband and I usually came once every couple weeks as our date night. Unfortunately, due to the workers strike, I cannot, in good conscious, step foot in the door. I support living wages for all workers and I truly hope that my hard earned money spent here starts going to the employees that are the back bone of your business.

The changes are good. Parking is $10 if you are not a High Roller.I was also very disappointed to find out that they opened the Casino to smoking again. The lower level is no smoking BUT they have old games down there. I won't be back. It's too bad because the Toledo Hollywood Casino was AWLAYS non-smoking!

It started off great. We had a beautiful view but that was the only good thing. Last night, 7/6/22..the only way we could watch something on TV was to turn on the guide and go to the show we wanted. If we wanted to watch something else, we had to turn off the TV and do the same thing but on another channel. I tried to call the front desk it said disconnected…my husband went down to talk to someone but couldn’t find anyone then coming back up..he got stuck on the 14th floor and it wouldn’t let him go any further. He had to go back down to the first floor and wait for another elevator to bring him back up. This morning they started drilling before 9 right by our room. So after having a horrible nights sleep to be woken up like that was that much worse. When we were ready to check out…all elevators weren’t working! We had to have the maids bring us down using their elevators. When I said something at check out…they front desk person only apologized. Save your money and go to MGM!! We both regret not going there! It wasn’t worth money we spent!!

Easy to get to right off the highway and parking is free. Casino is clean and staff working there are all very helpful and professional. The layout is well organized and feels open. Smoking is allowed inside, it is well ventilated so it's not even noticeable. There are also plenty of non smoking areas. Tons of slots and tables. Free non-alcoholic drinks. Overall a great experience. Best Casino in Detroit.

We went here for an anniversary get away. Check in is supposed to be 4, we got there early so we could get in and get ready, as we had dinner plans at 5pm. She said it's almost ready should be about 20 min (at 4pm). The room wasn't ready til 5pm. It messed up our plans. We came to Detroit just for this one night and it was hard to shuffle around our plans after this delay. When we got into our room it looked nothing like the pictures. We spent the extra money for a corner room with double wall windows for a nice view. The one window is completely covered with a larger dresser and tv. Not how it's pictured all. Don't spend the extra $150 for a corner room. Then at 6am the hotel alarm clock in our room was going off. Our one day to sleep in without our 5 kids and we are woke up at 6am 😅 They preset the alarm for families that request it but forgot to reset it I guess because we sure didn't request a 6 am Saturday morning vacation wake up.

I play craps, and it's got a lot of different craps tables. Bubble craps, stadium craps, and your regular tables. My only complaint is I haven't been there when there isn't a consistent 15$ table. The stadium is 10$ so I've kinda been partial to that because I don't lose 127 $ if someone pso's. They do have good wait staff and the food is pretty good. I've been happy with the comps and freebies. Hollywood Casino has been pretty good to me that way. Been to Toledo and Vegas Hollywood, possibly more just can't remember and they have Ll been pretty good. Have a good time and good luck!

Smoking should not be allowed. You have elderly people and people on oxygen that just want to come out and enjoy a day at the casino but they can't do the smoke. The people who came up with smoking are not down in the casino breathing the second hand smoke. Or leaving and you are smelling from the smoke. And not to mention the workers breathing in that second hand smoke.

My husband and I visited from Ontario for the Vikings/lions game and from the moment we arrived we were greeted with kindness and every step was a breeze. The valet took our vehicle and held our luggage because our room wasn’t ready until after the game, the gal at the front desk (wish I would’ve got her name) was so kind and so helpful even with an accidental card issue she was so helpful. She even asked what view we would prefer and gave us the highest floor she could. The casino staff were just as kind as well as everyone we encountered in the area and at the game. We love Detroit. And we love Greektown. People here are one of a kind. We will be back!

My husband and I stayed for two nights. Every team member we were in contact with was super nice. It has been beautifully redesigned and updated. I slept so good, the bed was comfortable. I didn’t realize that you could smoke in the casino but they do have a nonsmoking lower level which is great. They had a nice variety of games and there were plenty of slot machines to choose from. Food court had good options, I bought a T-shirt in the new Amazon store located in the casino and they are getting a Dunkin soon. We had lunch at the sports bar located inside the casino as well. It was also super easy to get to being that it is right off I-75. It was a nice getaway.

Huge facility. Tons of slots, lots of variety, a decent amount of table games, and many different areas of the casino to explore and enjoy. The attached hotel is very modern, clean, and well ran with great staff. We like coming here for a night or two to get away from life's everyday stresses.

This continues to be my favorite casino- to me, it feels cleaner, more open and brighter. I enjoy the selection of games and the food options. Parking is a breeze as well. They will soon require your game card to park.

I hadn't been there for at least 5yrs before this plague hit. I decided to go by myself last weekend. I deserved it. Anyway, friendly Staff, plenty of new slots. I left with the gambling $$ I came with ( wish I'd hit a jackpot), I'll be back 💋

Very friendly and helpful staff. No restaurants except fast food other than a high end place that wasn't open today. Very clean and basically smoke free casino floor and it's a huge casino, basically 3 floors. Parking garage is attached to the casino; it costs $10, but if you have a players card, it's free.

Don't forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a place. They compare hundreds of hotel sites and typically will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This hotel is one of the highest rated in this area. I've been coming here for a very long time. If you stay for a few nights you won't be disappointed. It was a fun casino. Nice and spacious. We were guest there for a contest to maybe gone on to Las Vegas. Didn't win that trip but we had a wonderful time. All casino employees were very gracious and helpful. Would love to return some day. Much more hospitable than some of their sister casinos. Thank. You all so much

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Greektown! After checking in, our family walked around Greektown taking in the sights and sounds. We found a great restaurant just a few blocks away. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly, the furnishings were beautiful, modern, and first rate. With double security for the rooms, we felt so comfortable and safe in downtown Detroit. The huge casino was a fun way to top off the evening.

Getting a "my choice" casino card. Jewel is in need of some customer service lessons. What a mean nasty person she is. She obviously does not enjoy her job. Or deserve her job. Every other single employee in the casino was nice, helpful, or cheery. Other than her it's an really nice casino. They do allow smoking but have non smoking areas too. They seemed to have newer updates slot machines compared to motor city casino.

Rooms are good not a big size but fine. View is beautiful. But there is no daily room cleaning service so if you are staying for long you have clean your own room . We stayed for 4 days it's hard with kids when you can't vaccum or even change bedsheets after paying so much. Not seen this in any other hotels. Rest service is fine.

Always have fun here, but the smoking section upstairs is horrible. Wouldn't care if people smoked, but the casino needs a better ventilation system to clear the air. I felt like I smoked 50 packs of cigarettes when I left from the casino. 🤣

I had to switch rooms. My first room had not been swept and the linen had stains. I called housekeeping and they told me they didn’t service rooms until checkout and that I could make the bed up myself with new linen. My second room was the same with dirty floors and linens. I also didn’t have a robe. The rooms are recently renovated so I was disappointed to see it had not been cleaned properly. The elevators were dirty and overall it was a mediocre stay. The location was the best part. The views were great but the windows were dirty.

Always great place to go. I never win (maybe once for $1500.00) but it is always a great time. Violence is way down since last year. More slots and a new bar has opened in the lower area. It is my favorite out of the 3 downtown casinos. I just wish they would cut back out the smoking. Other than that. 2 thumbs up!

Fun place to go. Always clean, friendly staff. They've bought back smoking on the upper floor. We generally leave here as the sun is rising, and with more money in our pocket than what we arrived with. Probably my favorite of the Detroit casinos.

I liked to go to the casino in Detroit, my hometown (versus other states I’ve lived and visited as a poker player in my past), for my birthday since it’s a major holiday and almost nothing else is open anywhere. You used to be able to park easily, walk into the casino or hotel and if they scanned your ID the tones would play the birthday song, starting your visit with whimsy and joy, and you could play some serious games or just hang out and waste some cash in the slot machines. Now, you pay for parking even if you’re expressly going to spend money at the casino; there is no validation or exception. It feels exploitative and impersonal once you’re inside, the vibe being very off. The screen does show a little birthday cake next to your ID photo so there’s that little joy. But that’s literally it. Everything about going here is completely awful compared to last year and the years before. After nearly a couple decades of having somewhere to go that’s open on my birthday, the casino is no longer on that list. It’s not a fun or cool or chill spot to enjoy at all. Skip it and hit up a real Detroit spot or somewhere local that’s open.

Went with some friends as dawn rolled around. So there was barely anyone there. Nice and calm experience, with my boys. It's so hard to win there, u might as well throw your money out the window on the way to the casino. And just go visit their staff, very nice, clean, place. Big beautiful establishment. Take time to walk around and explore might find your way to the jackpot.

This was my first stay at this Hotel and it exceeded my expectations. Very nice room with comfortable bed and very clean. House keeping was still suspended to to the pandemic. It should have resumed by now in my opinion. Otherwise great experience with good restaurants nearby and you are able to walk to the trade show center from there in 10 to 15 minutes.

Beautiful experience here for my best friend's wedding!!! Amazing views with great service and clean, comfortable rooms. I was so appreciative to check into my room early so that I didn't have to worry about check-in amongst all my maid of honor duties! Valet was super helpful and kind. Would love to stay here again!

Awesomeness. My wife and I stayed for the weekend of the Detroit Grand Prix. Checked out got on the highway headed back to Georgia Until I realized I left my new Detroit Dobb Dress Hat....still in the box I called and headed back. The front desk manager Vera went above and beyond to locate the box with my Hat in it. Literally Above & beyond to Return it. Room already been cleaned the box was in the trash. Headed to the compactor. What a life saver. Great Staff..Within an hour... I was able to get back on freeway. And head home HAPPY HATTER #EASTSIDE

Although the atmosphere can be kind of empty here, it is a very nice casino. The food options are decent and their comp system is great. Their poker room is very welcoming but unfortunately they don’t attract many players at a time. You never know who you may run into here, I was blessed to be able to play at roulette tables with Allen Iverson on a random night in Detroit! Amazing!

COMPLETELY unacceptable experience. The hotel front desk issued a key card to someone prior to my physical check in 3 hours later. A call was even made to the hotel (traveling from out of state) that I would be late and that note was put into the system after a key had already been issued. The reason we were aware was because the door was propped open, bed messy, used water bottles and the filthy bathroom. This is not only jeopardizing for my health and safety, but my family as well. Who knows who was in that room and what happened... but they issued a key under my name? Front desk (Ross & Jefferey R.) was unsympathetic, unconcerned, and lied through the entire ordeal. Said they checked camera, they did not. Said that there would be an "internal investigation" probably not. I cannot believe the recklessness, unconcern, and lack of accountability displayed. Sincerely!!! I am a AVID player but this has changed my entire perspective & I will surely be sharing this experience to respective parties that patronize Greektown.

This place has gotten worse than it was the last time I reviewed it. I ordered a beverage on their computer system waited about 15 minutes and a message came up that said your order is on the way. Another half hour went by and I never received the beverage so I left the area and reported this to a couple of their employees. They did not seem to concerned about it said they would report it to food services and which I highly doubt that they'll even waste your time telling anybody. Also one machine that I was playing I got a 184 free spins and it paid me $20.94. needless to say I will not ever go back to that P O S EVER AGAIN. DON'T BE STUPID TAKE MY ADVICE AND GO ANYWHERE BUT THAT CASINO YOU MAY HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF GOING AWAY A WINTER ONCE IN A GREAT WHILE

Nice remodeling of Greektown casino. Much better payouts than Hollywood casino even though they are both owned by Penn National Gaming. Dollar machines on the 2nd floor paid well. Had so much more fun than Hollywood casino in Toledo.

Location in regards to rest of the venues around town is great for parking, but the Penn Play services are a user experience nightmare. I was sent to several different windows to resolve my issue of a faulty Penn Play card that had $25 in bonus cash and ultimately given the run around, at which point I gave up. the sportsbook app, while having a great new customer promotion, was also faulty in getting me signed up before the Red Wings game I was attending and wanted to be on, but that is a Penn issue ultimately and not a Hollywood Casino problem. Drinks were also insanely over priced. Shouldn't be paying for two Jameson and Ginger doubles for $40 including tip.

Although I've lost a significant amount of money. 4 years ago. My mom chemo bills were due. I hit a jackpot.. but sadly nothing sense. I've put back more than I've won. Never offered free hotel stays. I'm a valuable customer. Service poor sense employees strikes. Looks like I'm not the only one disappointed. ☹️

I checked into the hotel and rooms were nice, the shower was good. However, the walls are paper thin and you can hear the conversations in the room and hall extremely well. The hotel didn’t invest in sound proofing the rooms. You could hear room next doors conversations, music and even someone coughing.

Right in the middle of downtown Detroit, this is a great hotel to stay at. It's a high rise, so there's nice views of the city. Within walking distance of Comerica Park or Ford Field in less than 10 minutes. The rooms are modern and very clean and neat.

Went down for my birthday, and they let me play a little. I was going prior, and each machine I played took a long time for a bonus. People come and have back to back bonuses with and without a card. I have not gotten a jackpot in years when I did it was on the low end. This casino is hard for me to play the games when it is no fun. 60 dollars in for one bonus.never offer any benefits but birthday money.

Big casino and this is the one we usually frequent. Free parking. I like that it's all now non-smoking since covid began. They have a lot of games to choose from. I usually play the computer roulette table that (was) located by the computer craps table but for some reason, they moved the roulette table to a random spot on the other floor by the $1 slots. They do a good job keeping the place clean.

I loved it. That being said, I wish they had truck parking. I had to pay $60.00 for less than 24 hour parking. I didn't win any money, but I never do anywhere... I've been told it's a very dangerous area. But as I came and went broke, no one tried to rob me haha. The employees were great. The room was modern and beautiful. The room next to me woke me up a little after 03:00. I called the front desk less than 10 minutes later security took care of it, I never heard another peep. Yeah I loved it.

My fiancee and I had a blast. We played for like 5hrs. The drinks were the perfect ratios. The food on the 2nd floor was so good. Shout out to Detroit Taco company. I don't personally play the tables, I prefer the slots. They have many different slot machines and table games. I suggest making a day of it. Food drinks and friendly responsible gambling.

Facility is huge but clean & quite nice & tickets to George Lopez show at Music Hall were great we enjoyed the entire show. It was a shame that we had several drunks sitting behind us whose performance was not at all good or appreciated. Maybe it would be better if Music Hall did NOT allow customers to continue getting drinks at their bar & bringing them into the show area.

I haven't been to Greektown for a long time and it was nice to see the updates to the inside (machines and all). It was also really nice to have SMOKE FREE areas. I would suggest parking a few blocks away and paying $5 instead of the $10+ the casino and lots that are right next to it. Good Luck!

Very clean friendly atmosphere, very well lit. I love walking through the inside of Greektown and being able to see downtown Detroit and all the old buildings and the bridge and lights. The way the inside is set up so cool. And I absolutely Love that I can smoke while playing slots again.

This is one of the most unique Hollywood casinos that exist. It has two floors each with plenty of games. I enjoy the older parts of the facility in regards to the outside/brick gaming areas. You cannot get that feeling anywhere else around. I do look forward to visiting this casino again.

I've been to several casinos and I have to say this one is my favorite. I like the parking garage attached (which I know many of them have this) but the atmosphere and layout as well as the decor has a classic, old school feel to it. Especially when you go into the balcony that overlooks the indoor alleyway with restaurants in the ground floor.

Always fun, but pretty busy at the bars to get a drink. Won just Uber $160 with a $40 bet on the penny slots, so it paid for our whole day of food and fun, and then some. Can't beat that.

This has took me a long time but here we go. Was playing poker at the table, one guy was winning everything betting everything her was the mule. Michigan law allows the casino to put there own player at the table. Watch it guys are friends and work the table together. The poker dealer was making comments on every hand about the previous Mayor's jail term and council leaders. Your job is to deal the cards not talk about criminals all night. I finally quit and would never go back.

Rooms are EXTREMELY cozy, but have a great view through the floor to ceiling, wall to wall window. The food at the food court is delicious, but way overpriced. A fabulous selection of restaurants & stores, on the street, outside the casino & a beautiful church, right next door (that oddly enough, didn't have ANY services on Christmas.)

I used to frequently play here and would do pretty good. I just started coming again after a 3 year hiatus and it feel like the slots paid out more frequently under Dan Gilbert's ownership. Penn National Gaming has these machines locked down.
