As a first time visitor to Pohnpei, the Pohnpei Surf and Dive Club made booking activities an absolute breeze, especially considering the weather circumstances of our visit. My friend and I arrived the day Tropical Storm Wutip made its closest approach to Pohnpei in mid-February 2019, and that night 60 knot winds were measured, knocking down countless trees and causing damage throughout the eastern side of the island. This limited our options the day we arrived and the next day, but Valentina gave us several of options and worked as hard as she could to make our trip awesome. Eventually we were able to schedule a tour of Nan Madol and a nearby waterfall, plus a hike up Sokehs Mountain that ended only due to trees and power lines being downed by the aforementioned storm. Super professional, will definitely be going back prepared to do an actual dive trip (hopefully with better weather)!

This was my first visit to Pohnpei. I didn’t come to surf but nevertheless Allois and Joe took good care of me with three days of (non surfing) activities. Nan Madol (ruins), Kepirohi Falls, Lenger Island (WWII relics), Manta Road (snorkeling), and Sokehs Rock (hiking) were all on the docket. Joe was very well versed on the history and culture of the island and FSM and a lot of fun to hang out with.

The dive shop is operational but they don’t get much work these days. On the bright side, as two divers we were the only ones and could call the shots on the dive sites and the pace. The boat and equipment in good condition. I appreciated that they were able to arrange the dive for us on short notice. Best to arrange ahead of time if you’re only here for a short while, we only had one day and were lucky to make it work. Some people were turned away because there was no crew for the day they needed. The dive guide was friendly but not overly enthusiastic - don’t expect detailed pre-dive briefings. It would be economically impractical for them to run the trip just for one person, so if you travel as a single diver, you’d have to luck out to have another diver or group at the same time - not sure when travel will pick up here again to the point where this is a sure bet.

Allois ist like a living encyclopedia of Pohnpei! He knows everybody and everything about the place and everybody knows him. Due of the lack other guests diving with him wasn‘t possible, what didn‘t affected him to help me anyways. He has plenty of knowledge about all the attractions and was so kind to give me tips how to organize it and how to go there (also the small picnic islands or the Ant & Pakin Atoll). What a kind person. Valentina his girlfriend did all the hikes on the island multiple times and don‘t hesitate to share her experiences and tips with you. Surf Club Pohnpei is amazing, thank you guys!

What an incredible experience it was to book a surf and snorkel tour with Pohnpei Surf and Dive Club! I first joined the snorkel trip to Manta Pass, and I enjoyed it so much that the very next day, I couldn't resist booking a surfing tour to P-Pass with Allois. It was on a whole new level – crystal clear waters, a perfect wave JUST FOR US, glassy conditions, dolphins, turtles.. It's moments like these that are hard to forget, what a nice experience! A special thanks to Allois for not only showing me the fantastic waves but also for being an excellent guide in introducing me to the beauty of the island. I will definitely come back!!

Pohnpei surf club never falls short of providing a great experience for its guests! The owner, Allois Malfitani is not just knowledgeable and informative on the surf but also on the different reef barriers, tides, many different channels, currents, and small atoll islands as well. You won’t just appreciate the beautiful crystal blue ocean, waves, and islands but you to take away enough information to understand the uniqueness of Pohnpei! The staff, which is led by Valentina is always ready to help answer questions and assist you with safety measures, diving equipment, or snorkeling gear before you even get on the boat! One can easily feel comfortable and safe knowing the boat is well equipped with safety gear such as GPS tracker and life jackets. All boat operators have many years of experience on the ocean and put you immediately at ease once you leave the harbor. If one wants to learn more about the culture any questions about anything local, talk to Daisy whom has vast historic connections to the island. I’ve been a satisfied customer using Pohnpei surf club for at least six years now and each experience has been incredible and few trips also epic! Whether you’re here for surf, dive, snorkel or explore swimming with baby sharks, turtles, mantarays, or want an historic visit to the Nan Madol ruins or 6 waterfalls...I recommend Pohnpei Surf club to help you feel the full measure of a fulfilling fun and memorable experience! We arranged a fabulous day trip to Ant Atoll through Pohnpei Surf Club for a group of around 20 of us (two boats). We went diving/snorkelling and then spent a few hours relaxing on Ant Atoll, which was divine. Crystal clear water with fabulous weather. Allois and staff were great - so friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended!

This is our 5th time staying at Pohnpei surf club. My husband is an avid surfer and fisherman and being from Hawaii he has pretty high expectations. He has never been disappointed. The accommodations are fantastic! The ocean front rooms are immaculate and the wonderful staff is beyond any other. Allois and Valentina are so helpful and very friendly. We are already planning our next trip! ALOHA!

Emailed in advance to reserve some excursions, prompt reply and super helpful. Arrived on island and a shuttle was waiting for us. The Surf club is located in the Mangrove Hotel which was very convenient for my wife and I plus the hotel is the best on the island. We did three excursions. Snorkeled with the Manta Rays twice and Nan Madol. The staff was professional, knowledgeable and fun! Brandon was our Nan Madol tour guide and he was amazing! He also took us to a beautiful waterfall where we swam and even stopped to get us breakfast as we woke up late. Just can't say enough about the Pohnpei surf/dive club and their staff. We became great friends during our week long stay on one of the most beautiful places in the world that few have ever seen.
