Completed my 7th trip to Yap this past April and it is still one of the best dive destinations and operations around. Have led groups there for those 7 years and had several repeat customers go back with me. Great staff, dive operation and beautiful hotel. And the diving is diverse and just awesome. Many of the staff have become friends and it always a treat to be greeted by name upon arrival and around the hotel. Since diving is the premier attraction the island is a paradise of relaxation and laid back attitude. If you haven't been to this area of the world you should really consider it. Bill Acker, owner and all around good guy, can help you make travel plans for visiting Yap and other great destinations in Micronesia.

Been here for 3 weeks on a dive holiday and it was a bucket list item that will now be a regular dive destination for us. Bill the owner has done a first class job building this resort and a lot of attention into detail. Staff are some of the most helpful and friendly that you can find anywhere. The diving is great, lots of variety in dive sites and very well run dive opreration. Also went out with Bill on his fishing charter and had a great day. We caught a total of 18 fish and the feast we had was supurb. If your looking for a great diving experience and a wonderful holiday you will not be disappointed.

My fourth time to Manta Ray Bay Resort in Yap since 1995. Hotel still very well kept, spacious room, good services and dive centre, very well run. Enjoy my dives very much with crystal clear water, mantas, sharks and even some macros. Wish they have better flight schedules to make it easier for visitors. Love to be back again.

Beautiful resort and location, small and quaint with very attentive service from wonderful staff who were extremely friendly and helpful, and knew everyone's name (travelled with a group of 20 people) within the first day. Yap Divers staff were amazing, we were even offered hot tea during our surface intervals with some delicious snacks, and they ensured we had the best possible dive experience on each dive. I would return to this gorgeous island and absolutely stay at Manta Bay Resort again, it's well worth the trip!

We had a great time and a very personalised experience at the resorts and its dive shop. The staff (especially Stella, Erin, Mike, Ferr, Nico and Derrick) are very friendly, attentive and accommodating. Food choice and taste, as well as the hotel facilities are excellent considering the remote location….don’t forget to request to buy the stone money chocolate chips cookie!!! Dive shop rentals are in good condition, and most of the dive sites are a short boat ride (very scenic) away. We will be back and visit the outer islands….hopefully very soon!

It is an excellent place to stay while in Yap. If you like diving, then this is the best place in yap that can cater to your diving needs.

Just came back from my third trip to Yap. As before, my friends and I stayed at the Manta Ray Bay Hotel. The staff is competent and friendly, the location is perfect for diving, and the owner of the hotel, Bill Acker, is gracious and charming. The dive operations have recently reopened after the three year Covid hiatus so we were expecting some glitches but everything went really well. The diving operation is first rate and the dive crew was amazing, special shout-out to Brian and Nico. The Mnuw is a fun location for a restaurant and the deck is spectacular in the evenings. Fabulous place to visit and this family owned resort is highly recommended.

First let me say this is not a Marriot or Hillton type modern hotel. With that said it is the nicest hotel in Yap. The staff is friendly and all call you by your first name. All of them. From the front desk clerks to the person who cleans your room, they all treat you like family. SCUBA diving is great. Visibility seems endless. Beautiful coral and assortment of sea life. They brew their own craft beer. Stone money brewery try the blond or amber or mixit 50/50. The pool is a nice place to relax. Quiet and peaceful. Come, relax, unplug.

This is no doubt the best hotel in Yap, maybe in all of FSM. I had never been to Yap, but after experience in other FSM states, I was not expecting much. However, MRB Resort impressed me from the moment I arrived at the airport (shuttle pick-up with water) to the moment I checked in to leave, when they helped me with an issue I had. Not only is the hospitality amazing, but the rooms are very nice too, especially the ocean view ones, which are quite spacious. The pool is small, but nice, and there's a spa on site. The big downsides are 1) no coffee or in the room, but they have some in the lobby, and 2) no gym, but that's pretty standard for hotels in the Pacific islands. The restaurant on the ship is not only novel and amusing, but it's also decent tasting and they brew their own beer. It's not the best dinner on Yap (check Oceania for that), but probably in the top three. Plus, who wouldn't want to eat on the ship? And listen for the cannon at 4:30 for happy hour. There's no question that this is the place to stay on your Yap visit!

We had a great week at Manta Ray Bay Resort! The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was great being able to go dive then come back to a hot dinner and some beers made at the resort. Nico and Brian were awesome for diving along with all of the restaurant staff. Overall I would highly recommend.

We did a seven-day tour with Yap Divers and had a great experience. The staff was a lot of fun and took us to all the great dive sites. We saw loads of sharks, manta rays, and eagle rays. The highlight, however, were the two octopus lovers we encountered on our last day that were hanging out right next to a mantis shrimp. A very special experience! It's definitely worth signing up with Yap Divers!

Fantastic experience in an exotic out of the way location. One flight in a week. One flight out. (United 185/186). Despite this, the hotel is well stocked and has every comfort you could need. The staff are amazing. Ben, Darlene, Ferr, Mike, and especially Brian and JP...the dynamic dive boat duo! Only gripe, my shower leaked. I believe around the seal under the door. This meant my bathroom floor became a puddle and slippery after even a short shower. A little TLC to the caulking and this could be fixed. Other than that, amazing experience. World class diving. Great land tour and BBQ at the beach. Very convenient transportation and bag handling from the airport and back a week later. Be advised, the Yap airport is very small and understaffed. So, it will take the full 2 hours to check in, pay your exit fee, clear customs, and then go through security screening. Be patient.

What a wonderful experience to stay at this resort! The restaurant is right on the water, next to the infinity pool, and the staff will do everything they can to make your experience delicious, and wonderful! Everyone is so friendly, kind and helpful! Our snorkeling, and diving on the reef was an experience to remember forever! So pristine, colorful and remote. Perfectly perfect.

It´s an excellent diving and a wonderfull cultural experience to visit Yap. The Manta Ray Bay resort provides you with friendly and skilled staff both in diving and in the hotel department. The underwater world is extremely beautifull and the island culture very interesting to explore! I enjoyed both the diving and the cultural experience to the maximum !!!!!

My experience at the Manta RayBay Resort was once in a life time. We did not dive because we were in Yap for military purposes but if I had to choose a location in which to dive it would be in Yap and I would stay at the Manta Ray Bay Resort again. Bill and his family are just wonderful and made our experience on Yap such a memorable one. I hope to come back to Yap again and if I am so privileged I would visit with my adopted family and stay at the Manta Ray Bay Resort again.

Bill and his family run a great dive resort, rooms are spacious and comfortable. Restaurant and bar provide good range of food and drink. Bill and his dive guides know the reef intimately and the diving is spectacular. Bill and his family make for a very friendly and rewarding experience in Yap.
