We visited on a Friday, it was not crowded at all. Very clean minus the stray plastic here and there. Parking is $15/car but it is all day and you can come and go and very convenient. If you rent an umbrella and chairs you can have food delivered to your chair, but you can bring your own chairs, blankets, coolers, etc. Alcohol is allowed on this beach unlike most of Galveston. The beaches are mostly clear of seaweed too. Only downside is that I haven’t spotted any toilets or porta-potties.

Porretto beach is the only privately-owned NWA h in Galveston. Parking is $15 and includes in/out privileges. Parking is VERY close to the beach. Umbrellas/chairs are for rent and run $45-50. The private beach is well-maintained, the staff are friendly and it isn’t crowded. They’ve added food delivery to your chair. Love it. This is the second time we have been here and we’ll be back.

Wanted to check out a different part of the beach and came here after parking on Seawall. The sign says bathrooms and concession but we couldn't find them so we went to a different place after all. It looked nice and less crowded though.

Nice clean free public beach with cheap meter parking that is free after certain hours and/or days that can be paid online or by phone only. The beach is nice and not busy but lack any services like restrooms, showers, or changing rooms. There were a life guard chairs but not sure if there was anyone actually there.

Had a great time. Water and atmosphere we're great. Beach was clean and lots of friendly people. Be sure to pick up parking sticker before stopping on the beach.

Was told it had showers and bathrooms. After you pay to park we found an umbrella/chair rental which was pricy but convenient. The bad thing was there was no beach shower and the bathrooms were 2 Port A Cans about 7 football fields away. I will shop around more before choosing another spot, not this one. Hope they improve.

There is plenty of space for your family to set up and enjoy the beach. Many restaurants and stores around. They have chairs and umberellas there to sit in and have protection from the sun for a small fee. You can bring your own food and beverages if you want. Also, the biggest bonus for me is that you can park within what seems like 15-20 feet from the water. So the walk up to the water with your stuff is not bad. All in all it's a good beach and I recommend it.

BEWARE - This is a great beach if you like to sit in trash, seaweed and dead fish. I watched an attendant drive over the dried up carcass of a redfish that had been caught and stripped of it's meat... then left to dry in the Texas sun. It was Sunday and it looked like it had been there for days. It was finally removed when a family complained because their 2 year old girl wanted to play with it. Disgusting! There are beautiful beaches in Texas but this is NOT one of them. Also, there are NO amenities to substantiate this being a private beach... feels more like a scam than an actual business.

The beach is nice but they made me feel pressured into renting a set of chairs and an umbrella for $75! They said it is usually $100. I’m really disappointed that I let them pressure me into paying that. I felt very taken advantage of. There aren’t any signs that say you have to pay either - otherwise we would have picked a different beach to go to. We only stayed there 2 hours as I had a 6 year old and toddler with me but they make you pay for all day. I wish I could at least get a portion of that money back. Very disappointed- will take kids to a different beach next time.

We loved how sweet and accommodating Parker off 27th street rentals was. We have rented chairs and umbrellas from him every day of our trip! I think this has got to be the best spot right at the Pleasure Pier! So easy to just leave our stuff and run and grab food or a quick roller coaster ride!

This beach is great! It is definitely less crowded than Stewart beach so I highly recommend it. The only problem i have is there is seaweed everywhere.

We stayed at an Airbnb right across the street from this beach. We walked over to just look at the ocean. Though we stayed almost 3 hours. It was about 6:30 p.m. It was not crowded at all. The beach was very clean and they had life guards patrolling the area. It was so pleasant. We had lots of fun. I would highly recommend it.

We came to this beach on Sat, June 10th, and we paid $15 for the parking. What really got me upset, is that no one even told us that the beach was full of dead rotting fish , which made it impossible not just swim! Even sitting on the beach was unbearable because your eyes started tearing from this disgusting odor! I understand you wanna make $, but that’s just weird wishing us having a great time , smiling to us , taking money, when you already know it’s not gonna be a great time at all! πŸ™„ We left in 20 minutes and I regret I didn’t demand the money back for this inhumane service.

In & out privileges is definitely a plus. Super clean and parking was really close to the beach making it bearable to carry the cooler, the kids, the toys, the food, the towels and the pets!
