The improved will come with counter management, order taking when busy. It got a little hectic with the amount of people and the miscommunication at the counter. The quality of ice cream is fantastic, I had the banana split, totally delicious. The chocolate shake, is a must for all chocolate lovers. At the end of the day, the vintage decor is attractive. The new owner should conduct a more efficient way of counter management. The employees seemed a little disoriented with the volume and stress. So in hindsight this can be improved, you all already have the atmosphere, the quality of ice cream, now it's time to have effective leadership and organization.

What a blast from the past! This place brings back happy memories of being a kid getting ice cream from an old school ice cream parlor. They had a good selection of classic ice cream, banana splits, milk shakes and more. They also serve pizza, hot dogs, and other treats for the whole family. This is a good spot for a quick family treat or an after-game meal.

Visiting from out of town and not a fan. Overpriced and really not that great. Very disappointed ☹️ the club sand which was so skimpy for 10$. It had 2 thin slices of ham. The ice cream was OKAY. We got a Sunday and it’s nothing more than I could have done at home out of a paper bowl. The chicken noodle soup was awful(for 6$). The noodles were thick and mushy. Maybe because it was homemade noodles?? Idk but they weren’t good at all. The ice cream had at least 5-8 missing or out. It just wasn’t all that great for $65!!! Don’t get me wrong it’s so cute in there. But it’s just Overpriced and not good.

Sunday afternoon excursion, post quarantine at: Holly Hop Ice Cream Shoppe 3404 34th St, Lubbock, TX 79410 Daughter had a turkey sandwich and I had a Frito Pie. Frito Pie was the best I’ve had from a restaurant! Dessert was a lemon chiffon scoop on a cone (lemon taste wasn’t strong. It tasted like lemon cake. Yum!), and a caramel sundae with Pecan Praline ice cream. All of it was delicious! Frank Sinatra on the jukebox, and the staff were all younger, yet very professional and knowledgeable about the menu. Place has the old fashioned ice cream shop vibe and has both booths and tables. Cost was around $30 for everything including tip. Different, and we really enjoyed the experience!

We love coming to this place when we come to Lubbock. We've been bringing our kids here since they were little and now that they're grown we meet up here. The food is really food and the atmosphere is very classic 1950's style. The staff is super cordial and the ice cream shakes are amazing. They have a nice size variety of ice cream and they also make old fashioned sodas. I had the old fashioned root beer soda and was not disappointed at all.

This place is amazing. An old-fashioned ice-cream parlor that has a great selection. I had a cinnamon malt and it tasted just like a snickerdoodle. This place will be my new go to for ice-cream in Lubbock.

Love the old diner look. We went in as a group of young kids were being served and waited with a long line to the door. Me and my sister both ordered a mini banana split with our choice of ice cream. It was so good. It had been a minute for me since I last visited there so I took my sister to introduce her to holly hop ice cream and she loved it. The employees were dishing out all the orders they were on top. Everyone there was busy working, cleaning etc.

Great customer service by the cashier guy ( I forgot to ask his name) awesome uniforms! Received the service that I give which made me feel welcomed by the young man at the register which seems like he enjoys his toil, such great smile and service by him makes you question the Pennies in the tip jar which ticked at my heart and I put a generous tip from my heart, the guy washing the scoops can pick up a little bit of the great energy and the girl serving the ice cream can smile, other than that I really appreciate the guy at the register and his willingness to brighten peoples day, he deserves a raise!… like seriously 🙂❤️ Root beer that tastes amazing! Clean scoop every time for a different flavor, very clean and sanitized! keep up the great work! Will most definitely be back and hope that the other employees grow to enjoy such a good work atmosphere and learn to enjoy their toil like the young man!

Be Ready to be swept back in time!!! The best part about this place is the huge variety of items on the menu and in the ice cream case! The flavors range from basic vanilla all the way to my personal favorite, watermelon sorbet, which is so hard to find! All hand-dipped into whopping portions so you get every pennys worth! Besides that, where else can you find the dipping ice cream, waiting tables, running the register, being a bus boy !

This is the cutest little ice cream shop they have a small menu of sandwiches and Frito pie but my favorite is the candied bacon BLT on the wheat berry bread with a ice cold old fashioned glass bottle of coke and we get the banana split after our sandwiches. Everyone from your kids to your grandparents will fall in love with this spot.

Stopped by to get the kids some ice cream. Dream orange tasted like medication. We got a brownie sundae which was pretty small. Nothing extraordinary besides the fact of it having the 50s look. My wife said it reminded her of the days when colors weren't allowed. This is from the movies we've seen. Can't comment on anything else just what we had.

If you love the classic 50s theme then this is the place to go. They offer a good variety of choices from food to ice cream. Variety of drink options as well. Can't say anything bad. I have always loved coming here. It is worth the price!

THIS IS SO CUTE, staff is extremely friendly and welcoming, they let you try any flavor you want for free, and the vibes are super old fashioned, loved it and will be returning

We have always come for the awesome ice cream and malts but today we stopped by wanting a light lunch. The Holly Hop BLT and the Club Sandwich were both amazing. Love having a wonderful local sandwich/ice cream shop right around the corner.

The super friendly and slightly surprisingly eclectic staff are very helpful. Want a shake but having a challenge deciding which of their yummy flavors to mix? The staff can give you samples, explain choices, and make suggestions. Of course, center stage is the ice cream! I just tell my waistline to shut up and indulge!!

This is a real gem of an old fashioned ice cream shop. The make all the ice cream in shop by hand. The soup and sandwiches are wonderful and it's always fun to visit.

I've never been to a restaurant so dirty. The staff was great and trying their best. Hard to tell if they need better management or if they just had a huge rush and couldn't keep up.

What an amazingly cute place. Brings you back to the old days. Husband had a malt old fashion style. Plus two of us went all in for an old fashioned ice cream hot fudge sundae. Delicious and perfect size. Only thing I would add is seems like they need two people working the counter not just one ,order took a little bit of time because she was working the cash register filling drinks and making Sundays for everyone a very hard worker!! She had a smile on her face. The place was very clean on top of only having one employee on at the time. It was crowded as we went during lunch hour. We will be back to have more 50ty style cafe ice cream. Loved our visit.
