Gotta love this place. Their coffee is amazing and they make some very nice decaf from Blommers as well. Best kept secret are their pastries. All fully vegan and super tasty. Croissants, both normal and almond filled ones, carrot cake, lemon poppy cake, snickers bars. After finishing one you'll be tempted to get one more. Baristas are super sweet as well and very passionate about their brews and bakings. Their nice and sunny terrace is nice and quiet in acute little street. My favorite coffee place from Haarlem by far.

Despite seeing photos of others with their computers on these reviews, I was told immediately that you cannot sit with a laptop. I was one of two people in the otherwise empty cafe. There should be signage up front if this is the case.

This cafe is a hidden gem that exceeded my expectations. The beautiful ceramic cups added a touch of elegance to the cozy atmosphere. The presence of locals created an authentic vibe, and the cakes were simply divine. Highly recommended! BTW, I hope next time the latte will be less bubbly!

Very nice and chill place. I often come here before work to spend a few moments in peace (my internal introvert celebrates every such occasion) Coffee is nice, as well as homemade cakes. Personnel is super nice and help me start speaking Dutch a bit. 100% recommend as a run-away 👍

Delicious, always pretty friendly. Expensive but high quality food and coffee. They don’t allow laptops, which I find rather pretentious and silly — if we write on a notepad it’s okay but not laptops? Guess they want a particular vibe. Seems it would make more sense to have one table designated for laptops, or a limit for how long you can be there with a computer. I’m a writer and often work in cafes. I order multiple cappuccinos over the two or so hours I’m there, and usually food. A person working for 2 hours with one coffee is the same as a person sitting with friends for 2 hours with one coffee. Guess we ruin the aesthetic. Phones are fine though. Lol. Still, it’s so good.

One of the best coffee places in Haarlem! Great specialty coffee, fresh homemade cakes and croissants. Try their “Amandel croissants”- it is a sweet heaven. Minimalistic design, Reggae background music and very friendly staff.

My favorite place in Haarlem for a good coffee and great pastries and sweets! It is located in one of the cutest streets of Haarlem. So, you can enjoy the atmosphere together with your tasty coffee and dessert. Their croissant is a must-try. It is the best vegan croissant I have tried so far!

The carrot cake is very good. It’s a very cozy cafe. It maintains a good aesthetic as well.

Loved both the Espresso and the Cortado I had there. The coffee smelled and tasted good, and it was no bitter at all.

No laptop policy which is truly bizarre for a coffee shop to have in my opinion. Maybe it's a cultural difference. 3 stars because they were nice enough to let me finish my call with my boss.

A small cafe but offers very cosy atmosphere. Tasty Matcha latte and Matcha croissant. Friendly staff. I really appreciate their interior and the way they display the cakes and bread.

A nice cosy small caffe with a limited offer but a nice vibe and good food quality. If you feel like a nice quick coffee then this is definitly a nice choice

The coffee is pretty average but the vegan croissants are beyond amazing - the best croissants I’ve ever ever had, vegan or not.

We liked the normal croissant the most. Almond was too sweet for our taste and also didn't really taste like almond. Matcha also didn't really taste like Matcha, the taste of white chocolate was stronger. But all in all still very delicious and recommendable! Quite pricey but lovely atmosphere.

Flat White with Banana Bread Super Nice Atmosphere and Nice Staff!

What a lovely place! The pastries (especially the vegan almond croissants) are sooo good.The barista was so friendly and helpful, she clearly knows her stuff when it comes to coffee. She was super knowledgeable about allergies and able to tell what was ok for me or not. Deffo my new favourite place in town for a coffee and cake in the sun!

The banana bread is A++, coffee is a 8.5/10, and the barista was friendly. The major downside is the cafe's "no laptop policy". I generally wouldn't be bothered but I came in to do a bit of writing on my dissertation 😅. So, laptop required... I don't know if there was a sign about the policy that I didn't see but if I had seen it I would have gone to another place. Due to the policy (and dissertation pressure!) I had to drink my coffee and eat my bread quickly so I could move to a new place to work. I'd understand if the place was busy and I was taking space staying for hours. But that wasn't the case. So, I was a bit surprised. It felt weird to have my cafe experience dictated. Other than that, the music was nice and it'd have been a perfect place to do some writing 😜.

Tried this place due to the great reviews...very disappointing. 1 staff member quite rude, place lacked any atmosphere-felt cold, croissant was stale and there was a dog running around the cafe jumping on people and behind the bar where the food is prepared.

Basically the only coffee place we now go to since we discovered the place (more than 1y back ). Besides the obvious thing (truly amazing coffee every time and probably one of the best (vegan) croissants you can eat, outside of France probably :)) ), it's a really nice and "gezellig" place, be it that you stay outside in the sun or indoors (where Archie the dog is a great companion to have your coffee with :) ). So, amazing coffee + great place + friendly staff = what are you waiting for?

In my opinion, Mica Coffee Bar offers one of the best cappuccinos you can find in Haarlem. Their carrot cake is simply amazing. Totally recommended!
