πŸ‘ The building is very ice and well maintained. I enjoyed seeing all our Dutch regional costumes in one place. I would have enjoyed more explanation of the diverse clothing styles. It is a good place to visit. People often mention museum, costumes, Dutch,

Went here to take photos wearing Dutch costume but i should say the lady photographer was rude, telling us to be in a hurry and the supposedly 30 mins photoshoot went into as fast as 15 mins.

A very fine, small museum where you can see all the important traditional costumes. There is a cozy cafΓ© at the bottom of the house. Here you can feel at home in your own kitchen. What particularly caught my eye about the traditional costumes from Zeeland are the "ear irons", which look a bit like blinders. It's also great that only a single curl of a woman's hairstyle is visible. What I always find particularly brilliant in museums like this: I get an impression of what it's like to live here and at the top of the roof you have an exclusive view of the Oude Lutherse Kerk and, right next to it, the Singel Kerk. This Mennonite church in particular is hardly recognizable as such from the front, on the street side. The exhibition rooms contain explanatory texts in all languages such as English, German, French, Spanish and Italian.

Loved it. Lovely staff, the clothes were so comfortable, I wanted to wear them home or to a bar. Also might play a harpsichord. Do it.

Dixie Bonneau Just now Β· Dutch Costume MusΓ©; is in a modest building, and is a new Museum in Amsterdam. For a modest price, you can view the history and learn . for example, each region of the Netherlands has its own colors & styles. And due to the winters being harsh, most people enjoy winter sports, so clothes were made for movement. Most costumes were layered and that "Delft Blue" , was used in mourning costumes In this traditional home/Muse , I because VERY aware of how steep the stairs are, so be aware you will need to climb some stairs to enjoy the whole place . GREAT staff and very helpful.. they even got the joke when I told them I was from New Amsterdam :)

This unique museum displays traditional dutch garb from the different regions through the ages. Very well done exhibitions with extensive information about materials, patterns, uses, and symbolism. It's a bit on the small side, I wish it was a bigger museum with more to see.

Just to cut my review short NOT WORTH WAISTING YOUR TIME AND MONEY . A very felty place with noise and smoking every where, the first day I went there at 3:45 pm the museum was closed and the employee told us that they have to close the museum early today , despite the fact it was supposed to close at 5 pm . There is construction inside the museum with noise of welding and smell of burning all over the place , extremely dirty place , even the bathrooms are very smelly . One thing which really annoyed me that I visited the bags museum just after this one and I compared between them. Just see the photo attached by this review. The photo section is a big SCAM just try to avoid it and don’t even think about it. The customs they used in the photo section are extremely dirty and full of germs , I had severe itching just after I tried these clothes on , redness all over my neck area and my foot . Really NOT recommended at all . More than 100 stairs are inside the museum so it is not suitable for limited movement person.

Small museum but a great collection to learn about Dutch costumes, peoples' lifestyle and culture. It's an interesting place and I was surprised there were not many people, I'd recommend to visit!

Nice comfortable place. You can get your picture in Dutch costume done here in the basement. Do call in ahead though. The museum itself is cosy though the items are not perfectly cared for. Opens at 10am.

It is a museum for older people but unfortunately not wheelchair or elderly friendly. Too many stairs

The lady at the counter is super kind and helpful. The museum is small but for people interested in cultural history and traditions it is ideal.
