Nice little museum. Enough to see for a couple of hours of edutainment. Went to see the temporary expo, which was a bit small but had some interesting exhibits.

Not a big museum, but very nice, though. The topic is more about the nature and human, how can they live in a harmony. Some very nice videos to watch. The art museum is just next door, good combination.

I have been to this natural history museum several times for meetings, conferences, and to visit the museum. The museum has a cozy, well-organized meeting room that can accommodate approximately 50 people. The museum is small but well-organized, with a lot of collections and information. It is also well-suited for kids of all ages, but I highly recommend it for kids up to 8 years old, in my view. You can spend a relaxed afternoon wandering through the collections. The garden outside is also nice for a leisurely walk.

More prehistoric finds in this region than one might think! Fun museum for kids and adult "armchair paleontologists" alike

Lovely small museum filled to the brim with skeletons, fossils, taxidermy and animal (rests) preserved in tubes and bottles. Unlike any museum I’ve been to before. It’s quite small, so I recommend going when it’s not very busy, as some rooms do tend to get crowded. Plaques and explanations are available in Dutch and English. Audio guidance is also available.

Not as big as Naturalis in Leiden, but it's quite cozy and informative. There's an audio guide that covers half of the exhibition with the focus on natural evolution. The other part of the exhibition raises awareness of the protection of the local ecological system, the global environmental problems, and sustainability.

We had a great time during the “Doodleuk griezelen”. A halloween event. The staff put a lot of effort, dressed for the occasion and doing some games for the kids. The museum is not that big, so we could do a quick exploration of it. There are a few nice things to see inside. Definitely I will return to see the full museum on a less frightening night.

Small and old fashioned museum. There are lack of English descriptions. Could be more interactive and having more interesting ways of showing animals from all around the world. Rotterdam deserves better place than this 🙂

This is a nice natural history museum. They have some wonderful displays of class and phylum for many different species. From butterflies and grasshoppers to squids and owls. Totally worth the €10 ticket fee. They also have a fun exhibit with information on all of the local Rotterdam wildlife.

My 3yrs son fully enjoyed this museum. Compared to the one in other cities like ny or london, it is a smaller but more enjoyable place in my opinion. It is displayed not just animal itself, but with social issues as well. It is not just typical museum, recommend to parents with littls kids.!

Unfortunately it was partly closed but it was cheaper than usual for this reason. Nice museum with unusual stories displayed. I loved the shop with a lot of gadgets. It also has a room for kids, nice idea

A nice museum of natural history in the middle of Rotterdam. A detailed exhibition at a reasonable price which is worth to see. I definitely recommend 👍

Pretty much what you can expect of a natural history museum. Pretty small, with two highlights: animals with a story; and the 'strange taxidermy' animals. Currently there are two interesting design exhibitions: 'waste tot beest' and Blocbirds.

A small but compact and well organized museum of natural history located in the museum park in the heart of the city. You may want to spend a day exploring this museum as well as Kunsthal next door and Museum Boijmans which will reopen at the new location (still within the park) on November 1

Nice exposition, a lot for kids to learn about the environment. One -/- for me, during the school holidays most museum's have treasure hunt in the museum and most museum's have it also in English. Here it was only in Dutch.

This small natural history museum has a fascinating display of famous dead animals as you enter (from the necrophiliac duck to a squashed pigeon) it was an unusual beginning that my kids loved. There are also some good activities for kids and lots of interesting skeletons, stuffed animals, and remains in jars. Good for an hour's fun.

Beautiful museum with many different types of exhibitions. The biodiversity section was very interesting and there are many animals that can be seen. The audio guide provides us with more information that are very insightful. The museum is not very big and can be completed in around an hour or so. The exhibition "the beast in us" is only available in Dutch. Nevertheless, the animals on display are still nice to look at

A very cute small natural history Museum. I'm used to much much larger ones with many creatures in "natural" habitats. They offer senior discounts.

Honestly not great. Pretty small, lots of taxidermied animals on the first floor, a few fossils on the second floor. You can get through the whole thing in less than an hour. The descriptions on the individual items were only in Dutch, so maybe a local would enjoy it more. Not so enjoyable as an English speaking tourist. I'd recommend going to the zoo instead.

It have a lot of animals to see, well conserved. It was an experience to see them so close, with all the details. I was shocked because of the animals on the hall, all of them died because of human causes (garbage, cars...), They make you think what are we doing with our environment. Also allowed with kids, you have a kids zone and interactive tasks.

While the exhibitions themselves were nice, the acoustics of the rooms were terrible which ruined the experience. The noise problems were mainly in the larger exhibition rooms on the ground floor. It was also inconsistent whether or not the signs were translated to English.

More geared towards kids, however things are just kinda put in displays without much organization. It is also quite small. 2/10 will not go back.

The new exhibition hall was useful. The children were able to try conversations with each other and exchange opinions with the questions that came up on the roulette wheel, and there was also a photo line, so we were able to leave memories.

😠 A real disappointment... The outside looks stunning but there is nothing inside to see except 1 painting and they dare charging 20€. A shame! All paintings are stored in a room you cannot even access....
