I suggest to everyone to try a boat tour. You will explore that part of the city wich is not possible to see by foot or by bicycle. The price is cheap 10 euro for a ride, they do not accept student discount. The trip is almost 1 hour and you can make a plenty of photos in it. It is not very comfortable, just like in an urban bus. But it is worth.

Lovely low effort, easy peazy canal tour option. They have partnership with Heineken so you can get the brewery tour plus canal tour package. Honestly don’t expect you will learn a whole bunch on the tour. It’s nice to just cruise through the canals with a Heineken in hand and enjoy some Amsterdam summer breeze. (It’s nice that unlike Venice, the canals here don’t smell like sewer) Was surprised to learn that the boat house permit can be a couple millions bucks but the boat house itself would be half a mil. Apparently no more permit will be issued.

We decided to take a boat tour through the canals of Amsterdam, not expecting much but considering it a touristy attraction. However, the boat tour turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Despite the drizzly and cold weather outside, the boat was heated and comfortable. Inside, there was a multilingual audio commentary available in about 20 languages, providing interesting insights about the canal system and the various landmarks we passed by. What made the experience even more enjoyable was the captain's witty and informative commentary, sprinkled with current events and humor. The boat tour lasted approximately 75 minutes, and we left feeling quite satisfied with the unexpected enjoyment it brought. It's a great way to explore the city and its rich history while staying warm and comfortable.

It is a must do. We arranged to take the boat on January at 17:00 and I do believe it was the perfect time. Enough light in the beginning of the route and a bit dark after 30-40min to see the lights in the canals! Do reserve online to avoid extra charges

I highly recommend taking one of these at night. It can be a little chilly, but as long as you dress appropriately you will be fine and comfortable. I caught one close to the RL district and it took us all throughout the canals of Amsterdam. I paid the extra for drinks on the cruise and I will say it's definitely worth it. The drinks are self serve, so you definitely get your money's worth, if not more. So I would definitely recommend paying the extra for drinks.

This was a great tour. The host was very informative and knowledgeable. The mic was too loud so was hard to hear but all in all it was good. We will have to do it again one day. We did this after the Heineken tour experience. It was great to see the canals of Amsterdam

We did the canal cruise in 2014 on our Europe trip. This is 45 minutes to an hour cruise. You are amazed to see how the Dutch have used these vast networks of natural and man made canals to their advantage. They use it extensively for transportation of goods and people. You could see the old and modern buildings of Amsterdam all around from the cruise, thanks to the glass roof of the cruises. There is live commentary going on giving you a lot of information about Amsterdam and its history and places of importance and important buildings. There are modern buildings with stunning architecture and old buildings of European style. Even both sides of canals are beautifully decorated with vivid colored artwork and graffiti. There is a small toilet on board in case you need it. We enjoyed viewing Amsterdam this way from the cruise. 👌🏼👍🏻

Amsterdam Canal - canal cruise. The canal tour in the late afternoon or evening was very nice and relaxing. The heated boat, a pleasant surprise and the perfect place to warm up after it had recently rained. Everyone gets a pair of headphones to listen to the history of the many sights. (There are more than 10 languages to choose from.) Overall, a worthwhile stopover for tourists who want a unique experience in Amsterdam. Or rather a “must do!”

The cruise will give you a good sense of what the city looks like. We discovered some area from the boat we decided to see on foot. The guide was also very informative. This would be a great thing to do on day 1. It’s relaxing, you get lots of information and amazing pictures. Do the 75min it’s well worth it.

There are translation instructions in various languages using headphones. The captain is also very professional and has good sailing skills. The scenery along the way is beautiful.

Good boat tour. I’m so glad they had the uncovered sitting on the back, I loved being there instead of inside under the enclosure. Next time I’d bring my own headphones, I’m glad they provide some but they are uncomfortable and my kids couldn’t wear them. There is a bathroom on the boat which I’m grateful for with kids. They had cute little coloring packs for the kids which was also great. Bring your own snacks on the boat or you can buy them them, ok price. Glad we took the tour.

Wonderful Amsterdam images from the channels. The captain was very friendly, he let me take pictures from the front cabin. He told me stories about Amsterdam while I was taking pictures.

Such an amazing tour around the Amsterdam’s canals with this boat tour cruise🥰 The cruise showed us around the highlighted places to see in Amsterdam. Multiple languages were available to understand the guide. Very nice boat crew! I recommend. Ps.: sorry for low pictures quality, it was raining and we had to keep the windows closed😅

Worst place, tone deaf ppl. Very rude staff and extremely weird cruise captain. In the name of “Guided tour” all I remember hearing was how the outskirts of Amsterdam were build for poor, but it was place of rich now. So tone deaf thag he mentioned 4 times how the justice building basement was built to “store slaves” but now it is just normal jail. He also clarified 2 times that Dutch used to deal in Slaves selling and buying but how they never used ( hence they are not to be blamed for slaverly). I was dumbstruck by listing to all this in 2023, like how is this company even allowing this person to be guide!!!

I would definitely recommend it on a sunny day. It is a great opportunity to visit this beautiful city. Ticket prices are not bad, but if you arrive at the last minute, you may not be able to find a place to sit. The captain and his team are very sympathetic and friendly. A great opportunity to have a great time.

Was funny seeing all the random things that's had fallen in the canal! Overall was a good tour around the canal, our guide made it very enjoyable and explained many different events and interesting facts about many things along the tour.

We took this tour on January 2nd 2024 and it was a welcome relaxing experience after New Years. The boat is heated so you can take of you jacket, but since the windows get fogged be prepared for people opening windows to take pictures. You get a free audio device which has commentary in multiple languages. The tour is over an hour long and we got it for free with the I Amsterdam City Card, just remember you have to book it on site (it can't be done online).

Loved the tour. Show up early to queue, because it is first come first seated! We did the night tour. Lovely lights and scenery. Not condusive to great photographs unless you are at the back of the boat which is more open.

Taking a canal cruise is one of the most popular things to do in Amsterdam. The Canal Cruise Ticket offers the most flexible and convenient way to get on a canal cruise along the historical Amsterdam waterways

It is worth having a canal cruise while visiting Amsterdam. It was so interesting to learn the history of Amsterdam. The audio was not loud enough and many people were talking very loud so I missed some parts of the info provided. It would be great if you can update your system so everyone can be able to hear at all times the info. Great views of the city. Nice seats and you feel safe all the time since the ride is not fast. The ticket was also in a reasonable price. I recommend joining this tour.

We have visited last summer, it was nice trip and one must do it if they are in Amsterdam. Such an amazing tour around the Amsterdam’s canals with boat tour cruise. They take as almost everywhere the highlighted places to see in Amsterdam. They have audio guide in different languages that you can choose. Very nice boat crew! You will have different experience if u travel in the day time and if u travel in the night. we booked in the evening so we were very lucky to see the city in daylight and in the night along with the sunset. it was perfect weather when we visited there. only parking issue, we have to be lucky to get parking near by the cruse. its worth paying for the cruse.

I was excited to see Amsterdam. But I couldn't see out of the windows on the ship as they were fogged up. The captain of the ship didn't care. I asked for a towel or a squeegee, but he refused. Went on the Hop On Hop Off tour and saw more as they cleaned their windows. Amsterdam is a great city. Happy I finally got to see it.

Better to be taken by day not night , nice snacks , audio guidance with several languages and cozy welcoming atmosphere , we took it for one hour and half so we it was enough tone and we had plenty of fun 👌

Hour tour round the canals of Amsterdam. The audio over speakers was in English, German, Spanish and French. The small windows open sideways so you can see straight out, learnt a few little facts and got to see some landmarks.

You can book online in advance. One hour around the canals, the city looks totally differently from the water and the views are amazing. You can sit inside or outside ...

We took the night cruise for amsterdam light festival because the boat was closed we werent able to see much of the shows, and i have found them a bit boring. The cruise was 1 hour and a half. I recommend taking the cruise in the morning better than night

Comfortable way to go through the canals but a lot less exciting than the pedal boats. Besides, you get really nice views from the pedal boats at your own pace too. The canal cruises bring you to spots you may not be interested to see. There is commentary but a really sedentary way to see the city. However, to each his own!

Decent Canal Cruise. Amsterdam is a beautiful city but I do feel if they had a live tour guide it would have been much more engaging than the prerecorded messages. We looked at many interesting places though and it felt thorough despite only being on the 75minute tour.

The Amsterdam Canal Cruise tour is a wonderful experience and it is one of the best ways to discover the charming city of Amsterdam! This relaxing excursion through the canals of Amsterdam provides the tourist with a great overview of the city and to experience the real Amsterdam. Tourists will be able to see several famous landmarks through this sightseeing such as the Westerkerk Church, the Negen Straatjes district, and the Magere Brug also known as the skinny bridge on the Amstel river. Evening and night canal cruises are also available and some of the sightseeing include meals and beverages. The approximately an hour cruise ride is accompanied by a local expert tour guide who shares the history of Amsterdam and the lifestyle of people living in the city.
