The best vegetarian food in Amsterdam! There is no menu, only courses, it costs ~60 euro, everything was very delicious and original. The service was good, people are friendly. I wanted to give 5 stars to this place but cannot because they don’t accept cash, it look like the owner thinks about his security more than about convenience of visitors, so people have struggling with payment but they don’t care. But food is amazing, their chef is cookstar!

Vegan restaurant with one menu and you opt either for 3, 4 or 5 courses. They have accompanying wines and drinks. Tastes are very refined and the plates look like little works of art. We sat outside in the window that overlooked the IJ and it was just a magical Amsterdam evening. Everything came on time, staff (I think she is running it all alone!!) was lovely. I would just highly recommend, it was exactly the experience I was looking for and met all my expectations. They have a terrace outside but inside is nice too. This is Amsterdam more than all the big joints in the city centre!

BonBoon changed premises to the centre of the city in a beautiful location. Food is equally excellent as is the tea pairing. This is now my fave restaurant in Amsterdam! We were with a few colleagues to celebrate a year of hard work. The dishes were amazing and beautifully presented. Each delicious in its own right and very different from each other. The (cashew) cheese course was particularly stunning. The set menu is 3 courses but you don't want to miss the "second starter" or the "pre-dessert"! Not cheap but most definitely worth the money. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Amazing experience, best vegan restaurant in amsterdam by far. So refreshing to have a place to experience creative cooking and refreshing tastes! Finally not another vegan junk food place. Also great hospitality, small and intimate atmosphere. Thank you, will be back for sure!

Delicious! Exactly what vegan fine dining should taste like. We celebrated our anniversary here and it did not disappoint. Great service, lovely terrace in summer, and excellent food. The menu changes every 2 months so we are looking forward to going back!

The atmosphere and staff were so lovely. The food was okay, but the majority weren’t to our liking at all. Very very expensive.

Beautiful and quiet location on the waterside to enjoy an original dinner. We had dinner with four friends and chose the 5 course menu. Every dish was truly something special, very delicate flavours. If you enjoy high quality fine dining this is your spot. We were served by the owner, Daphne, who made us feel at home and we shared some good laughs. I will definitely come back for more with non vegan friends to show them how great a vegan dinner can be!

Wow. What a treat it was to dine at Bonboon this evening. It was so much more than just a great meal, it was a real all-round wonderful experience. I have eaten at many good and great vegan restaurants, but few, if any were as amazing as Bonboon. My wife and I both decided to go for the 5 course options. Her's with a different tea with each course and mine with a different wine. Both the teas and wines were clearly well researched as the both complemented each course superbly. And I haven't even mentioned the food... every course was stunning; beautifully presented and tasting absolutely delicious. If you are looking for a special, top quality vegan restaurant with incredible food, superb service and a fantastic atmosphere then Bobboon will certainly not disappoint. Absolutely fantastic. We had a beautiful experience at Bonboon with very attentive, friendly service and of course great food. We especially loved the fermented asparagus and pickled aubergines where the burst of flavours and the amazing changed textures really surprised us as we never had these veggies in that form. So creative and good! And the starter was simply spring on a plate. 🍀

Very beautiful place, the restaurant has this chic / cool vibe with cute animal pictures, you listen to blues, jazz and a kind of contemporary mix of styles, people are friendly and kind, always smiling!!!! The food is super exclusive, fresh, high quality, they pay attention to details, presented beautifully and well explained by the well educated and kind waitress!! If you want to have the gourmet vegan experience Bonboon is the place to be!!!!! It was an AMAZING and special evening !! Food is amazing, surprising you with all the different textures and flavors, hospitality is great too. Went there with my vegan friends that came to visit Amsterdam, and couldn’t have chosen a better place. My non-vegan boyfriend kept his expectations low before coming there and was blown away by the food. Definitely will come back!

The vegan dream. Worth its money. A dine fine vegan restaurant, attached to a hotel. Healthy food, for me a bit too less salty. It really tasted healthy. :) You will be served accompanying wine or, hold on, tea! I was very suspicious about the tea, because they were all green tees and i hardly can sleep if i drink it in the evening. But this time it worked. Reservation was needed. When half the room was empty, it slowly turned colder. Very nice room arrangement so you could communicate proper. Couch was not too uncomfortable. Lovely to watch the kitchen for preparation.

The food was a bit hit and miss. First course was great, but the rest had some strange flavour combos that didn’t really work, especially jerusalem artichoke and meringue that tasted like baking soda in the dessert. The service was friendly and attentive, and matching wines were excellent.

We got lucky and did 2 for walk in. Amazing vegan experience in fine dining. What food should really taste like. But the wine pairing was by far the best I've ever had. Vegan cocktail are an experience in itself. A must.

Was told a week ago that bringing my dog would be all fine. Today however we where rejected and told it was against the law to have a dog inside. Would have been great if they told us the right information before reserving and taking 50 euro from us.

I’m not vegan but I had dinner here because I was staying at Hotel Mercier for a work trip. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the five-course meal (six if you count the amuse bouche at the start). The dishes were creative, yummy, and perfectly filling for one person. I would dine here again.:)

This is a vegan restaurant that I recommend to everyone! The food is GREAT, the servers are always so nice and thoughtful, and the building is beautiful. The owner of the restaurant is such a sweet and thoughtful person, I always love to come here.

This was simply a wonderful menu. A real gem of a vegan restaurant in a City otherwise lacking for high-end vegan options. There is nothing here which would have been out of place at Gauthier Soho or similar establishment; the wine pairing was superb. The roasted teriyaki pumpkin, pickled pumpkin with tangerine gochujang aioli was incredible, a real layering of both texture and flavour. With a menu which changes every two months, lovingly-prepared from locally sourced ingredients, this is a wonderful small business which we were pleased to visit, and will do so again. Highly recommended.

My partner and I each had the 5-course tasting menu alongside a great bottle of red, as recommended by our waiter. It was absolutely flawless; every dish was balanced, beautiful and delicious. I've no doubt we'll be visiting again on our next trip to Amsterdam. If you like vegan food but don't want to compromise on taste, you should definitely try this place out.

Wow. Hands down the best vegan food I’ve had! The veggies were the stars and they didn’t resort to any “cheap tricks.” I am still wondering if it was a dream or not. Make a reservation and enjoy all the courses.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed, the food was uniform in taste, and everything was in the form of a cold starter, and a small one (one asparagus on a plate, really?). Each of the three dishes had the same, noticeable bitterness, and the dominant presence of strong pickles. There was no expression, sharpness, different structures or one of the many herbs that would enhance the taste of the dishes. We hoped that the desserts would save the day, unfortunately both of them were just sweet and both had pickles (pears and rhubarb) 🤦 And we left hungry, because neither of the dishes has anything nutritious, they are rather variations on the theme of a salad. An additional inconvenience for me was a table right next to the toilet door with a view of the dishwasher and cloths under the sink. And the lady waitress, who spoke so quietly about the next dishes, it was hard to understand. This time the truth was confirmed that serving nicely arranged food on plates is not enough to call it a dish and a place a restaurant. Extra star is for fully vegan menu.

We walked the four kilometers from city center to Bonboon. It would've been worth it even if it was a ten-kilometer walk. Great food and inspiration! We will come back.

This has been truly an amazing experience. We discovered Bonboon trough a quick Google search, and after seeing the reviews we made a reservation for the same day. The restaurant is small, but it really seems cared about and it's nicely decorated. They also have a beautiful terrace with great views to the water. Perfect for nice weather in spring and summer. The personal is kind and attentive, and that's always a plus. You can choose between a 3, 4 or 5 dishes menu, and I would actually recommend going for the 5 dishes one! Drinks are not included. Everything was incredibly good presented and super super tasty. Also specially surprised with the deserts! The chef happens to be spanish (as I am) and I was definitely not expecting to see some bits of spanish cuisine in here. We had some outstanding calçots, calamaris and quesada (among other things). Seeing such a "meat based" culture as ours represented with some of our best (although less famous internationally) dishes was truly memorable. Also, it seems like Bonboon rotates their menu once a month (as far as I know), so we can't wait to try the next ones. Be aware: It's not an everyday restaurant, and I believe it isn't supposed to be (specially if you go for the 5 dishes menu, which is 45€/person). But if you want to treat yourself and enjoy some high quality vegan food, this is the place. Maybe the weakest point would be the waiting time. We spent more than 2 hours there (from 6:30 until 9ish). I understand 5 dishes take more than an average meal. But between some of them we waited for 20 minutes (which is not ideal). However, it was the first days after covid. Also we were the only ones placed in the terrace, and it was quite busy inside the restaurant. The weather was amazing, so we didn't care that much. But hopefully this was a one-time-thing! So...! Overall, an amazing place to know if you are vegan, vegetarian or just want to enjoy a special lunch/dinner. Local products, rotating menu, nice vews... What else can we ask for?
