This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hospital/ medical facility. I walked in and there were only 2 other people in the waiting room, neither in critical condition. I was in immense pain so figured I would be seen right after them. Within the next 3 hours, 6 other individuals came in. They were ALL seen before me and there was no reason for this as none of them were in visible pain, nor critical condition. When I asked reception why I still hadn’t been seen and if something was wrong, they said I was supposed to have gone back already. I then was taken into triage where the nurse was not very friendly nor understanding but assured I would be taken back next. I sat there for FOUR more hours and watched more people go back before me who were just arriving. After 8 hours of waiting I was finally seen and let me say the hospital rooms are out of date. They didn’t even have the correct bed needed for my procedure. It took 30 minutes for medical staff to find the catheter that was needed as well. Management really needs to get it together as that awful. The only thing you have going for you are the caring nurses and physicians. My nurse was absolutely wonderful and was the only good part about my experience here; she deserves one heck of a raise. Please fix your system. I am incredibly understanding and have plenty of family that work in medicine so I get that hospitals are overwhelmed at the moment but this was absolutely unacceptable.

This facility needs to be shut down until management decides to put things in order. It does not make sense to go to an ER in an emergency situation and be treated like it’s not an emergency. My wife and I have been sitting for 5 hrs without any attention. Next time I’ll go to Kaiser no matter how far it is. Very inconsiderate staff! And please don’t reply me with a sorry for your experience and to call your team to further discuss. You never do anything to make changes. Just know that God will judge you for mistreating patients in severe conditions

It’s a shame that emergency rooms now are taking over 5 hours to see you. Laurel Hospital was better than this. People in the ER waiting room screaming in pain. Elderly shouldn’t be waiting five to six hours! When they first open here it was a two hour wait and now you’re waiting 5-6 or longer ! Get more doctors and nurses so you can run this place efficiently! This why I am giving you 1 star! Treat your customers with respect and don’t have them sitting for hours! Please don’t answer me back with form letter! Do better!🤦🏽‍♀️

Hospital is filthy with bugs crawling around, and the staff have no manners. No one was at the front desk to sign patients into the emergency room when I entered… And staff made it feel like you were a “chore” to be dealt with rather than a patient going through an emergency. I was never signed in because while waiting at the front desk for someone to sign me in I went to the restroom feeling sick. While there I was not only yelled at but berated by security and staff for having my partner comfort me while I was getting very audibly sick - instead of being offered help from them, like a nurse. I ended up leaving and going to Howard County General. Will never return to this hospital nor recommend that others go, literally anywhere else would be better. This experience was not only very frightening, but infuriating, and their staff needs serious training. Patient negligence is no joke. Most people go to the ER on what could be the worst day of their lives - the staff just made it worse. They have a significant amount of 1 star reviews for a reason - trust those reviews, this is by far the worst hospital in the area….

Came here with my injured employee. Great job by everyone from the front desk to the medical professionals.

This is the worst hospital experience of all time. My mother was in a car accident a little after 2:30pm. She wasn’t taken to receive a MRI until 10pm! During that entire time, I requested a neck brace for her and I was continuously dismissed and ignored. Come to find out it’s a possibility she has a fracture in her neck. That’s when they brought a neck brace. Worst experience ever. I deeply regret agreeing for the ambulance to bring her here. I will do everything in my power to never have to come back to this hospital again. I would rather drive to another country to be seen.

The worst hospital in the world. And I have traveled. The staff almost hated seeing me come out of the car and told me it will be a long wait. Their was no one inside. They made me sit in the cold. I had sever back spasms nd could not walk. No one got me a wheel chair. Even after I asked. I was ignored. I couldn't take a tiny step, they laughed while I screemed in agony. The lady who took my vitals was rude, I asked for a wheel chair nd she argued, then stuck me in quarantine due to shortness of breath from muscle spasms, no one would listen to a word I said, untill I complained. I have never seen a person screeming with pain get treated like that in a hospital. This place should fire everyone except the doctor, and the head nurse. They were very nice and caring. Staff was Exact opposite of caring.

If you need medical help find a hospital elsewhere. My daughter had pain in her abdomen. She has no knowledge of any illness. She googled about her situation and said she might help appendicitis. I drove her to this emergency facility approached the front desk and told the lady about the situation. Filled out the admitted form and was told to take a seat and wait until next call. We waited for 11/2 hrs and my daughter said mom I feel very uncomfortable and pain so I went to the desk told the lady said my daughter is in pain and she said just wait. I walked up to the lady 3 times. 5 1/2 hours later called in and the nurse checked her temperature was 102 and she immediately gave medication to low her fever. Hooked up IV and got ready to the CT scan results came out sure she had appendicitis. The ER Doc said is almost bursted and they took to the operation room. Over all the whole hospital needed renovations. It’s filthy and foul smell. Plus, the front desk personnel should knowledge a bit about patients’ situations.

Deserve 0 stars. This place is a joke. I waited in the cold crying and bleeding all over the bathroom for 4 hours until I had to leave somewhere else. They prioritize people that just walked in over people waiting in urgent pain and terrible conditions. They would let you die in front of them. On top of that the lady at the front desk was cold and had a terrible attitude. Get yourself together guys and close down that place !!! Or call it a mortuary !!!!

It is sad to arrive at a place where you think you will have help and the truth is that no one even cares about the health or well-being of a child. Last Monday she was with my baby with a fever of 104. They registered me as a very kind girl, but from there I waited. an hour and no one came out to assist me and there was not a single patient in front of me, inside I could see a nurse cleaning the desks with wet wipes as calmly as possible when I know that a child with a fever is a priority wherever so my advice, don't visit that hospital, thank God I managed to get to the children's hospital in Washington where they treated me quickly.

11-01-2022 UM Laurel Medical Center, is currently, and in the past has been involved in many lawsuits, due to NEGLIGENCE', patients being ignored, they also hire many Nurse Practitioners who do not qualify for the job, have no experience in the field, cannot even draw blood from a patient because they cannot find their veins, this is a serious issue, what else are they doing wrong at UM Laurel Medical Center? that's a good question, and why all the lawsuits? UM Medical has had a bad reputation since I first visited the facility in 1986, overall, I do not recommend UM Laurel Medical Center to anyone, poor service Nurse Practitioners are from foreign countries, where health care is handled differently from the US. At UM Laurel Medical Center, my arms were injured, since I visited UM Laurel Medical Center my left arm has been in pain, and the nerve.a; hurting, the nerve that they damaged at UM Laurel Medical Center, bothers me every day Does anybody want to visit a hospital, where nurses are neglecting the patients, while nurses are at the station, laughing out loud, without no consideration for the patients? They do not have good care, this is why they get O' stars from me. When I visit a health facility, I always feel like I will get the best care possible, trust the staff, and confident that I am given the correct medication. UM Medical treated me poorly,

SO GHETTO !!! (Emergency Room Specific), everyone comes off so “brash”, rude and acts as if the hospital victims are interrupting their (staff on duty) schedule! It’s as if all the Baltimore rejects migrated to this one hospital to give no professionalism and to talk to people any kind of way. Not to mention the bathrooms they expected people to use are filthy! My best advice, go to Howard County General Hospital. Thank me later🤲🏾

Worse Experience ever. First I will say God bless everyone but if you get sick or if something happens to you please never come here if you love your life. Sitting here from last night at the Emergency room and in whole night only 2 times nurse came and they whole night worse night ever they give us room with no heat on I believe even AC was on so cold in the room. Staff very rude and fighting to each other in loud voice not even thinking about patients. In the morning they brought the breakfast to patient and patient said I don’t want right now and after that nobody came to ask the patient if you need something or need water. Room lights off nobody visiting to look up the patient. Really please if you can not safe somebody life then just tell them we are not able to take care you guys please find any other place. It’s been 12 hours now in the cold room without food and water try to go out to buy something to eat and security being rude and telling me you can not go out some how when i went out now they are not even opening the door to go inside with patient. Please management or who ever please you need to look on this. This is not a joke that’s a matter of life

This is the worst hospital ever , I came in by ambulance and was in tremendous pain ! I sat for 7 hours while people who I know came after me or walked in got helped first . It’s like they neglected my pain . There was a young lady who raised hell and began destroying property even she got scene before everyone else who had waited hours. The only good thing about this hospital was the vending machine . I would never go back to this one because I’m scared of gambling with my life . Please consider any hospital but this if it’s life threatening .

I have been to this hospital several times in the last 3 to 5 years. Their ER staff has been fantastic. My wait time has always been 30 minutes or less. Recently they opened a brand new hospital next door.

One star only because I had to in order to leave a review. In short this was the absolute worst experience of my entire life. First I was there almost 5 hours and did not even see a nurse or a Dr. When I walked out to the nurse station they said someone would be there when they could. After waiting for 30 minutes I got dressed to leave and here comes a nurse talking about medication they were going to give me in a IV. First I haven't seen anyone for them to prescribe medication so what and why are you prescrbing medicine. A comment was made about me just being there for drugs. I wasn't there for drugs, pain meds or anything except to see why my face was numb. Then they wanted scans. I am walking out and and a Dr shows up and was basically well now that you have seen me you have to you have to sign a against medical advice. For what I haven't seen anyone to give me advice. I ended up allowing them to do the CT of my head since I was there for numbness of my face lips . They told me it would be posted to my chart in about a half a hour. This was yesterday and still nothing has been added to my chart. I will never go there again. I have contacted the neurology department at JHH. University of MD needs to do better by this community. Laurel regional was a horrible hospital and as a member of the community I had hoped that with University of MD taking over this hospital it would be cleaned up and do better by the patients. Unfortunately it is still a huge disappointment for us as sick patients looking for help. We can not even go to our local hospital for help. I work in the medical field so this is absolutely unacceptable that people are treated this way. And before a comment is posted about increase in ER visits it was not so busy that it would take that long.

Please keep in mind that this review dies not include all of the Emergency Department Staff, but... I was ignored for hours, and left freezing in a room, after repeatedly asking for blankets. I requested to use the bathroom, and finally had to drag myself to the front of the bed and climb off, after disconnecting my blood pressure, and pulse oximeter units. I was barely able to see or walk. And the nurse had the nerve to tell "pee in the cup while you're in there." The doctor in particular, was so clearly uninterested in me or the incredible pain I was in, that he was willing to discharge me when I was basically in the same condition that I had arrived in. I just continued to lay in the bed. His nurse was so unattentive that she didn't notice. Thank God the 3:00 shift arrived during my "protest." I explained to the new doctor, and was admitted to the hospital. This is the third experience with this hospital, where emergency services resulting in admission were needed. The ONLY reason that I went there was because the level of pain required the closest medical facility. Shameful. The only reason they get two stars is that the second shift was amazing, as was my nurses on the floor. I'm glad I wrote this review. It made me see that I need to file an official complaint.

My husband's surgery on 11/18 was treated with the utmost professionalism and care. I am impressed with the Nurses, Anesthesiologist, and Surgeon. The cleanliness and wait areas are excellent as well. Normally are in Baltimore and are left disappointed fighting a huge facility. This facility was very deserted feeling however and seems a waste of a good facility.

They kept calling in people that came in after me. I will never return to this facility. The receptionist was very rude she was busy on her phone and will not answer a simple question.

ER visit They do not offer full service. We have been here for 6 hours and we are still waiting to hear from the doctor what the plan of care is. She briefly said that he might have to transfer since there is no specialist here for his issue. Earlier a woman that is pregnant came to the emergency room check in (while we were waiting in the lobby) - because she was bleeding, she also waited in the lobby for about an hour and when she went to check on an update they said they don’t have any specialist here for her to resolve her issue. Why did it take them that long to let her know of that?

One of the most unprofessional place i ever see . My father was admitted to the medsurg unit last week . The nurse was unprofessional, inattentive and rude. You better off dying that being admitted in a place like that . One particular nurse stood out to me , Kelly bahr , she the rudest of them all .

HORRIBLE SERVICE. Lost my bloodwork, and didn't bother to find me to get it again. I had to ask to see where I was in the line, and was lied to as a number of people who arrived after me, went before me. Completely understaffed. The Board of Directors should be ashamed.

please look at the rating this hospital has compared too the other hospitals. Its got a low rating like this for what I can imagine is thousands of reasons why, patient negligence is the highest concern for anyone who has someone they care about in this location. Don't forget too give your diabetic patients insulin, that's something they need too live. They're already in the hospital because they need help, they don't need it too be any harder because some halfwit didn't remember a diabetic require insulin more once every 36 hours. Don't come here unless its not an emergency in anyway shape or form, I doubt they'll be able too fix the problem. I'm looking at the reviews and even local Guides are saying too avoid this hospital.

Waiting room was empty but it still took a while to be called back. Once back, took a while longer than we thought it should as the staff seemed un-busy with irreverent banter. Once seen, issue resolved quickly but the checkout, too, took rather long. Overall, for what we were there for, staff was nice and attentive and took care of us and we were in and out within 3 hours on a Tuesday into Wednesday night.

THIS HOSPITAL WILL WATCH YOU DIE BEFORE THEY EVER TRY TO HELP YOU. It’s been like this for years and it gets WORSE over the years. DONT GO HERE DONT GO HERE DONT GO HERE If I had an option to give it 0 stars I would You guys need to SHUT IT DOWN. It’s horrible . Horrible customer service These people don’t care about you and don’t know what they’re doing . Shut the hospital down again because the new building as pointless.

My significant other was seen at the ER. Nurses and Dr were very nice, we were seen pretty quickly. The receptionist that registered not nice(I was told her name was Cory). Rep got upset when I was trying to help him answer questions ( since he was not 100% ok) and when I helped him look for his insurance card and handed it to her she gave me a death stare like if I was doing something wrong, it happend twice, which made me feel very uncomfortable. I don’t like confrontation and it wasn’t the right moment to speak up so I let it be. If she doesn’t like her job she needs to look else where and not take her issue out on patients. Y’all need to hire people who actually like to be in a medical setting & specially at night and are respectful.

I got to the emergency room and told them I couldn’t breathe well and they took about four hours to see me and then I went to the back and lead in the room for two hours more still didn’t see any doctor Respectful man They do not care about people life I didn’t even know what was going on with me. I took up and left. And went home. I will never recommend to go back to this again I wouldn’t even tell my enemies to go. If there was an option to not put any stars, it will be none. you guys have to pay the workers to come there and serve. That’s the first priority before anything else to make a successful hospital and not just take people money.

Staff was friendly and helpful but there were a series of missteps. They don't have a pharmacy and failed to call in my prescription to my pharmacy before it closed. My doctors after hours answering servic never called me back about the meds. Thank God my roommate had some extra and I *hope* I can get it filled tomorrow.

I have visited 3 major hospitals in the Washington DC area. This is by far the worst one. It puzzles me how can a hospital function properly with no call buttons to communicate with the staff. You literally have to get the attention of someone walking by. The doctors communication is hit and mis. The overall protocol and procedures need to be revamped quickly, or simply close this hospital.

Great care in the ER, but if you’re in the limbo of being admitted and stuck in a hold room, you are forgotten. No meals, no drinks, no call button, and definitely no entertainment. I can’t even go into detail on here but this has been a traumatic experience and I still have days to go.

Do not waste your time here. They have no consideration for their patients. Even when the patient count is low you spend 4 hours waiting to be seen. This place needs to close down because there seems to be no one in charge to hold staff accountable.

I went twice for chest pains. Long family history of heart attacks. I was decidedly nervous. They did extensive testing and referred me to a cardiologist. Turned out to be not related to my heart, some kind of lung infection, but the staff was wonderful and definitely eased my anxiety. They also did a fast COVID test in anticipation of the possibility that they might have to keep me overnight. This made me feel much better as during this COVID time, I worry about that too and especially the idea of being in with patients. They assured me I'd still be able to get treatment, but the outcome of the test would determine which wing they placed me in. Makes perfect sense. Great team. Great facility.

I have been to this hospital once and didn't have a good experience. Waited for hours eventhough not many people were waiting to be seen. I pray that when the new UM Laurel hospital opens it opens with a whole new staff and management team that is committed to managing and providing great customer service and healthcare. I hope this new hospital will be as diverse as the community it serves. It is very disturbing to me that out of 162 reviews this hospital still has a rating of 1.8.

If you or someone you love is sick, PLEASE take the time to go to another emergency room and don’t spend your time here. They had my mother who cannot stop throwing up and who was in extreme pain waiting for 3 hours, and we still haven’t been seen properly. After finally getting us into a room, we were put into a hallway with little to no explanation and left to sit there. Now we’re in a room AGAIN, but the doctor left and we’re waiting. I don’t know how long this will take, but this is lowest of the low. Absolutely will never come here again, I regret coming here now.
