Wonderful tour of the building and its occupants history dating to the late 1700's. Highly recommend the hour long tour - the time flies so does not feel long at all. Of note, for folks with difficulty standing/staying on their feet for long periods - take the 30min tour as all the antique furniture cannot be sat on.

Mary Anne and Dottie were incredibly personable and knowledgeable. They encouraged participation during our tour by giving us opportunities to share and discuss our observations of the collection. We could see their passion for the House in the personal anecdotes they shared. (Their recommendations for local spots were also excellent!) We highly recommend this experience for any visit to Annapolis!

A great and well presented bit of Maryland and Annapolis history. The tour was nicely paced with excellent context provided. The guide was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. Beautiful flags at the entry door and the John Shaw flag above in the gift shop. Don’t miss the exhibit gallery just off the entrance.

I went on a guided tour of the house. The tour guide was very informative and enthusiastic. There were many interesting historical items in the house. Many of the artifacts were original to the house, as well.

Last minute Annapolis, MD day trip and we explored this museum on a Saturday afternoon. It was interesting learning about the history of the house, family, and period in general. Took a 30 minute tour which was $6 dollars each. Good price. Learned a lot and enjoyed the ac from the hot summer weather. Not a history buff. I would not go again personally. It’s a house museum- enough said.

Beautiful building and location. Super interesting to learn about the history of the house. Our docent was a little erratic in their tour and I feel I didn't have enough time to read all the interesting plaques throughout the house but still worth the time!

This was a last minute decision and so glad we did it! The docent, Judy, was wonderful as was the gentleman at the front desk. Judy shared some great stories and history about the house and people who lived there. The rooms and house were beautiful.

What a fantastic little historical house and museum. They had an Easter egg hunt and my child absolutely loved it. This house is nearly 250 years old and the people who run it still keep it looking fantastic. They should be proud of themselves for the effort and the skill in the projects.

Great tour! We are homeschooling our daughter, 2nd grade, and we took her here for a field trip. Our guide was very sweet and knowledgeable. She invited us back for a luncheon in the garden! We can't wait to go back and take the full tour.

The Hammond Harwood House is a wonderful museum/historic house. The passion of the tour guides and the skill of the administration creates an amazing small, independent museum. If you are in the area and don’t go to the Hammond-Harwood House you are missing out!

Visited there on vacation last week. It was a great experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and gave a a thorough tour and answered all questions well. Wish I could remember her name to thank her. The house is an excellent example of it's period, and well kept with many original or period pieces.

A must to include in your tour of historic Annapolis! Our history, our architecture and our traditions are well documented for your education, and that of your children. If we don’t learn our history, we are bound to repeat it! Come and be amazed.

Great personalized tour. One of the few places where the artifacts, portraits, and stories of the people who really lived there all line up. I went on a Sunday afternoon when it happened to not be busy. The 30 minute tour turned into an hour.

Wonderfully curated 18th-century manor house with all original architecture. Friendly and caring staff. A must do if in Annapolis or the central Maryland region!

Hmmm. Looks great from the outside. Staff were very friendly....but gotta say this one was really underwhelming. We took the 60-minute, $12 tour. Our tour guide was very nice and friendly but had limited capacity to answer basic questions (ex. How many square feet is the residence?). The last lineage owner of the property had no heirs and went bankrupt so all the "original" possessions were removed/ sold by creditors, and while they have clearly made efforts to obtain some of the original home furnishings, very little original items remain ( 1-2 small items per room based on our guide). As a result, the place has period pieces that are an educated estimate or like what may have been there. The really odd thing to us is that probably 40 of our 60 minute tour was spent discussing the many paintings in every room from Charles Willson Peale and many different furniture pieces by John Shaw.....but when asked what these local artists had to do with the house itself or the families that had lived here, the guide was unsure and said they mainly collect them because they were local artists. Hmmm, okay. The gardens grass was full of crabgrass and weeds, but they did have some beautiful magnolias and reasonably maintained plants. Overall, I guess we just expected more and were hoping for a more cohesive fact filled tour by a guide with more details at the ready.
