We were building a cabin and needed to be in the area very early in the morning to meet the builders so we stayed at this hotel. We really enjoyed the location within a walkable area to shops. The rooms were comfortable and quiet since we were on top floor on opposite end of the bar overlooking the Mississippi overflow area. What sets it apart is the service, variety of breakfast food and fruit. Hard to pass up the free popcorn and chocolate chip cookies! We tried the different coffees too. Now that the cabin is built, we don't have a reason to stay there but we still go to the Hotel when in Prairie for the Bar/Restaurant.

The negatives outweighed the positives for us at this hotel especially for the price. It was raining and there was no overhang at the front door to load/unload in the rain. Other patrons were not happy about this either. Lobby is nice, staff was very friendly and accomodating. Different story in the room. We got a 2 room king suite with a fireplace for our honeymoon. The bedroom was nicely decorated but the carpet was horribly worn and looked dirty. The living room and kitchenette was not decorated at all and was cold and uninviting. Fireplace was in the living room and was of terrible quality. Wasn't even close to imitating real. The only light in the living room was an obnoxious, recessed, white light "spotlight" in the middle of the ceiling. No side lamps for softer lighting. Same for the kitchenette area. It had a nice apartment sized fridge and had a sink. No dishes and only 1 fork and 1 knife. There was no table where we could sit and eat. Bathroom floor looked dirty, but I think/hope it was the tile design (weird). Bathroom door would not stay open. Kept slamming shut with spring hinges. After a day of sightseeing, we decided to unwind with a drink and a TV program. To avoid the spotlight overhead, we turned on the kitchenette light. Pretty soon the light turned off, so we turned on the bedroom light instead, thinking something was wrong with it. Pretty soon that turned off as well, leaving the rooms in total darkness once again. Glad we were watching TV so there was some light in the otherwise pitch dark room. Aside from being extremely annoying, these motion sensor lights in the whole room are dangerous. The only light that would stay on was a wall mounted reading lamp by the bed. We left that on at all times (not while sleeping) so we wouldn't be in pitch dark when the motion lights shut off. This room was extremely overpriced for what it was and we did not enjoy it at all. We go to this town quite often, but we won't be staying here again.

Friendly staff at front desk. Beautifully decorated entry and rooms. Nice touch with popcorn and cookies. Great location. However, the bathroom doors slam shut every time and the tub is a surround and makes terrible noise while showering. The bathroom floor tile either looks dirty by design or is dirty. Strange choice for bathroom floor. The air conditioning was good, but no continuous fan so every time it kicked in made a jolting noise. The view was of a marsh and dead trees. Was looking forward to having a drink or dinner but they were closed both nights we stayed there. Comfortable beds but hard to roll over in. Cute hotel. We won’t be back. Overpriced for what we received.

We had a wonderful stay. Our room was super clean and I loved the no carpet in the rooms. Beautiful wood like floors no creepy stains. The bed was ultra comfortable. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. The view from the outside rooftop bar was beautiful at sunset after we enjoyed dinner and a walk through the park next to the hotel.Breakfast was outstanding with so many options. Definitely will go back.

So happy to have this hotel as an option to stay at in Prairie du Chien. Rooms are very clean modern and beds comfortable. We had a river view which was nice as well. Loved that there was a bar/grill connected to the building and continental breakfast served every morning was wonderful. Without hesitation we would absolutely stay here again. Only suggestion for improvement would be to make the patio area more inviting - remove tin cans of cigarette butts (or empty more often) and add some nicer furniture and plantings. Would be a great place for lounging and watching birds on the river.

I love this place!!! A bit pricey during the high season but the rooms are always clean and the lobby is beautiful to hang out it. The upstairs bar and restaurant is so cool. It's a perfect place to watch the sunset over the Mississippi River. We will be back!! :)

The rooms are cute and well decorated, but I was woken up many times throughout the night from being able to hear every footstep, door opening/closing, toilet flushing, of the people occupying the room above me. It seemed almost like the noise was amplified and I had a herd of elephants staying above me! The hotel is nice, bed is comfortable, and the location is good, people were friendly. Just wish I were able to get a good nights rest!

I love this hotel. The room was large and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The onsite bar was fun. Very big and live music on Saturday night. The hotel is located within a short walking distance to shops and bars. We also took a short ride over the bridge to go to the casino in Iowa. We had a fun weekend with five couples staying at this hotel. We will definitely stay again.

We stayed here for the first time and it was wonderful! The Manager was pretty awesome. She actually seemed to really like her job, which I don't see a lot anymore. Rooms were clean and updated and really nice. We had a beautiful view of the river. Hung out at the restaurant/bar for a bit and had a great time. Hotel is walking distance to soooooo many places. We will definitely come back if we are every in this area.

We reserved a king size room with a kitchenette and fireplace. The weather was cold and raining so we enjoyed having a larger sized room with amenities. The location was perfect, hot breakfast hit the spot. We arrived late in the evening and Jane at the front desk helped us order pizza from Door Dash. My only complaint would be the constant truck traffic all day and night on the street in front of the hotel. We turned on the fan, that helped drown out the sound or request a room on the back side of the hotel. The truck traffic is not the fault of the hotel, just giving feedback to light sleepers.

Visited 10-15-23 for a quick work trip. This was the cleanest and coziest place I have ever stayed at. Staff was knowledgeable about local eateries and fun events. Fall colors were near their peak. Took a walk along the river and soaked it in. Overall, the visit was great, beds were very comfortable and breakfast was on spot. I will be back :-)

Room was very spacious and up to date. No idea why the bathroom door is an automatic close door which was bothersome. Called down for extra towels and no one answered (had to go down to front desk to ask for more). Friday night, loud music and howling, literally, from the bar area till midnight. Even the AC unit couldn't compete. We had a "water view" if you can call dead trees and a slough that. Decent hot breakfast. Walls are very thins. Could hear the blow dryer in the next door room. Unfortunately, could hear the next door neighbor using the facilities!

The customer service at the hotel is top notch. My son and daughter in law took a mini honeymoon at the beginning of September and I called the hotel to have a bottle of champagne in the room. I called to give them my card number and they said the champagne is on us, we are just glad you chose us! They also upgraded their room at no additional charge. Definitely choose this hotel when you are in Prairie De Chein!

The coziest boutique hotel tucked away next to the river. Easy to access from either side of the street. Let's talk about the service, hands down some of the best small town home feels I've ever gotten at a hotel. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated, as well clean. Not a spot to be found. To top of it off, the complimentary breakfast is amazing and has such a variety for any picky eater. There is even a bar and grill located up top, next to the building.

This hotel is so cute! Our room has a lot of space, a comfortable bed with nice sheets and a great view. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Prairie du Chien, stay here. It’s reasonable and they serve breakfast! The walls are thin and I could hear a TV in another room. I could also hear what sounded like someone was rearranging the furniture. We were lucky enough to get a room facing the river and we saw 3 bald eagles hanging out on a sandbar.

The beds were so comfortable. The bathrooms were very clean. An A+ because the rooms don't have carpet. The a/c was wonderful which meant the air quality was perfect for someone who has allergies. The breakfast was comparable to most hotels who provide breakfast. They did provide fresh popcorn and/or cookies from 3-6 pm each day so if you needed a little snack. The restaurant and bar area is wonderful. We sat at a high top to have a drink and food. There is room for improvement on the chairs. Staff was wonderful!

Location was perfect for the celebrations nearby and the room was clean, shower was lovely, and the bed was comfy, usually it takes me two nights to settle in, but I slept like a rock in a quiet dark room. Breakfast was adequate and staff was really great. I would stay here again. The bar was fun to sit outside and enjoy a sunset. We had a beautiful view from our room.

Loved this hotel. Location is perfect. Room and beds were comfortable and clean. The staff was SOOOOO nice. The indoor/outdoor restaurant bar was amazing, both food and drink. Travelled from Florida for a wedding which was held at the hotel and they did a beautiful job with it as well. I don't know if we will ever make it back to PDC, but if we do, no doubt we will stay here.
